This spacious air conditioned studio apartment can accommodate 2 adults and a small child. The open plan lounge/bedroom and kitchen have recently been refurnished to a high standard.The kitchen has granite work tops and all mod cons. The longe/sleeping area offers easy access to a lawn area facing south where al fresco dining or sun bathing is perfect.We even provide comfortable sun loungers! Behind the apartment there is easy access to the shared pool complex etc just 1 minute away. You will love this apartment.

I am now partly retired after many years as a Technical Director for a multinational company. Following my retirement from the full time job we purchased a lovely 2 bed apartment in 2005 and a ground floor property in 2008 on the same site. My present employment situation means I can work just as easily in Sao Rafael as the UK with the Internet connection.

Perfect ...... Just love this place

We have stayed in Albufeira 4 years running now and have just booked to return to this lovely clean and comfortable, good sized and well equipped studio apartment .

Beautiful Sao Rafael beach is only a 5 minute away and the smaller Arrifes beach is only 5-10 minute walk away

We walk into Albufeira old Town ( takes us just over half an hour at a leisurely pace ) and usually get a taxi back (7 euros )

Or we eat at the local restaurants close by to the very pretty complex.

A couple of evenings we stayed in and had a BBQ after a long day on the beach, there are plenty of options to choose from.

The swimming pool is very clean and close to the apartment and offers a very refreshing swim to cool off.

We were greeted and welcomed and instantly made to feel at home having been shown all the facilities. The studio apartment is light and airy and plenty big enough with huge comfortable beds with plenty of clean linen and towels etc. We loved being able to open the patio doors in the morning and enjoy breakfast in the pleasant secluded garden in the sun . We just love this place and can't wait to go back next summer .

Perfect Beach Holiday Studio

This little studio is absolutely perfect for a couple on a beach holiday, who want a relaxed stay in beautiful surroundings, but still within easy reach (?7 taxi ride) of a more vibrant evening out.

The studio really is a 5 minute walk from the stunning Sao Rafael beach, with the pool literally a minute walk away. The pool is always spotless and the pool area always very well maintained. As a pass is needed to access the pool area, it never gets too busy. There is the main pool and small paddling pool for little ones adjacent. The staff there are always very friendly, relaxed and approachable.

The photo's show the studio well; the addition of the washing machine is very handy, while the kitchen refit provides more than enough amenities for a true self catering break, should you wish.

The studio is always spotless upon arrival and the greeting always warm. The service received from the 'meet & greet' team is very personal and provides you with the perfect amount of information to get you going, all the while knowing they are always there if needed for anything at all, no matter how big or small. It's like having a local on speed dial for those unexpected questions.

As mentioned, the resort of Sao Rafael is a lovely quiet place to relax in, but with Old Town Albufeira only a short taxi ride away (which are easily booked), for an evening with a lovely vibe, or those that crave a bigger night out can venture into the New Town of an evening and (probably) party till the sun comes up.

There are a limited number of restaurants in Sao Rafael itself, that's true, but when the closest one - Praia Grande (up on crest of hill, to the right of the beach roundabout - 5 mins stroll away) - is easily our favourite in all the places we have eaten in the Algarve, there really are no problems.

All in all, this really is a perfect studio in a perfect resort for a lovely relaxing holiday. Fully recommended.

Although the apartment is well situated and close to the Old Town some guests will rent a car in order to explore the whole Algarve and even make trips to Lisbon and Seville. Our Third Visit!

This is the third time we have visited Sao Rafael and stayed in the same apartment. People tell us to try somewhere different but we find that we have everything we need here. The owner is very efficient in arranging the holiday from making payments to arranging airport transfers. It is very smooth. The Meet and Greet team out in Sao Rafael are very approachable and nothing is ever too much trouble; we had to contact them once as we had forgotten something and immediately Richard popped by to assist us. Such friendly people.

The apartment is very well contained and is in immaculate condition. It has recently been fitted with a washing machine which we found very useful. The pool is a minute walk at most from the apartment and is a good size, well maintained and the people are very friendly around the complex.

We tend to visit the local beach by day, which is simply stunning. Hours can be lost admiring the view, reading a book or walking the length of the beach taking pictures (scenery is beautiful!)

In the evenings there are excellent restaurants local, or the Old Town is less than 10 mins and 7 euros in a cab. The Old Town is ideal for sitting in the square with a drink watching the world go by, and has many restaurants serving fresh food.

This is why we continue to return to the same place for our holidays. We work hard and we do not want to risk trying somewhere else incase it does not live up to our expectations!

Location

From the Owner

We had considered buying abroad for some years in Spain but having seen this apartment, there was no contest. We love this quiet area as it offers such easy access to beautiful beaches and the Monchique mountains inland. The Portuguese people are wonderful and many friends have been made in the area. The nearest airport at Faro is easily accessible from the UK year round.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Gorgeous Sao Rafael beach is just 8 minutes walk away. It has been voted one of the most outstanding beaches in Portugal for sand and swimming.

Many other beaches including Arrifes are 10-20 minutes away with bars and restaurants

Travel:

Sao Rafael is situated about 40 minutes by car or bus from Faro airport.

A car is not essential but would make your holiday more complete.

Cheap taxis and buses are numerous to take you into the Old Town where there is live music and a real party atmosphere.

Other attractions include Splash and Slide water park and a theme park called Zoomarine are just a 15 minute drive to the west.

Several restaurants offering local produce are found within a 10 minute walk of the apartment.

A convenience store selling all basics is located just a 5 minute walk away.

Nearest banks are in Albufeira or Val de Parra.

Large supermarkets including Lidl and Continente are based close to Albufeira.

Apolonia is in Gale and is more like a Waitrose...you may bump into Sir Cliff Richards

Many leisure activities abound in the area. These include boating, fishing, golf , and swimming and surfing. Slightly further afield are watermarks and also theme parks ideal for children....swim with dolphins etc

The apartment is so well equipped that it is a home from home and allows myself and my wife to experiment with our love of cooking. I am an avid golfer and in Winter time can play in 20C weather even between November and March when the UK is freezing. I am also a keen photographer and am always capturing the changing colours of the coastline on camera as can be seen by some pictures in the 2 bed apartment we also own. The benefits of the area include its quiet location yet its proximity to Albufeira Old Town.
