Quality detached villa in quiet estate close to the town of Calpe and beaches, the property is southwest facing and benefits from sunshine for most of the day, there are sun terraces with shade but that are still able to enjoy the fabulous view towards the sea and the Penon de Ifach. All rooms have aspects facing the wonderful view, the property is arranged on two floors, the main floor there are two bedrooms, one en suite, a shower room, large lounge, dining room and kitchen, there is a large terrace to sit and relax or to eat, down the stairs you will find a separate entrance to further accommodation which has a small kitchen and two large bedrooms and a shower room. Outside there is a large private driveway with space for a number of cars, a private swimming pool 8m x 5m, with a shower and sunbeds. There is a large paved area for the BBQ, all facing towards the sea and not overlooked. There is a separate utility with washing machine and dryer.

I live in England with my husband and two school age children, for the past few years we have holidayed in Tenerife and Mallorca, we chose mainland Spain as the culture is very much the same, the area of Calpe is fabulous. It suits everyone, families with young or older children or friends, the old town has plenty of character, the two beaches are spacious but busy in August and very clean, there are plenty of restaurants from snack bars, cheap and cheerful to more quality, and special if you want a celebration night. We chose our villa for its location and what it has to offer, there are plenty of areas to sit and relax and the pool is great, we provide all linen and towels so you can travel that little bit lighter. The area has so much to offer, sports, adventure or just relaxing.

Liked it so much, we've booked for next year!

We stayed in the villa with our two young boys (3 & 5) and a set of our parents. The villa was as per the description given here and the letting agent arrived early to let us into the property. The villa is well equipped and the layout is perfect with two self contained rooms on the ground floor and two rooms on the upper floor. This met our needs perfectly as the grandparents had their own space downstairs complete with kitchen whilst we were upstairs.

The villa boasts air con in all the bedrooms and the lounge as well as numerous fans. It is spotless clean and has all the necessary utilities and utensils you need for two weeks away in the sun.

The pool is fantastic and unlike other villas had no slippy tiles around the edge which was a blessing with two young boys running around. We had plenty of sun loungers and the shade of the fig tree was a welcome relief at certain parts of the day.

The service from the agent was brilliant as we suffered from a number of power outages during the first week and an electrician was on hand within hours to resolve, what more could you ask?

The villa is a short leisurely 15 minute walk from the beach or town both of which boast plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. There was even a shopping expedition too! The villa is at the top of a hill which some people may find disconcerting however it is no problem even when carrying the shopping! The area is quiet and the villa is very private yet Lidl is 5 minutes walk from the villa so you are by no means far away from the essentials. The local taxis are cheap as well you can always grab one of those on your way home from either beach, as the grandparents did most evenings, at a cost of €8.

We have stayed a number of times in Calpe and love the location as it is perfect for us with a young family who want a relaxing time. We have already booked for next year and this this is the first time we're returning to the same villa so that should tell you how good it was!

Second time back....lovely as the first time...

We returned to the villa again having enjoyed our holiday in 2014 and yet again shared the stay with some friends who joined us.

Calpe was as friendly as the previous year and the villa perfect for our purpose. The beach is a pleasant walk down to where there are plentiful different types of restaurants to choose from.

A wonderful two weeks!!

Lovely villa but misleading details

This property is a nice villa with high end furnishings however, whilst the description mentions it accommodates 8 people there is only indoor dining furniture for 6 people, outside lounge seating for 5 people and no outside dining area as mentioned in the description. The description states there is air conditioning and ceiling fans but does not mention there are neither of these in the downstairs accommodation. The description also mentions it is a 10 minute walk to the beach and town but this is not achievable especially with children. During our stay we pointed these facts out to the property management company who agreed the advert is misleading. Also be aware there are several hidden costs (ie; Wi-Fi, linen, deposit, towels). The description also mentions maid service which is not included. We enjoyed our staying Calpe but felt our holiday was spoilt by the issues we come across.

Owner's Response: It is disappointing to hear someone has not enjoyed the Villa or not had a good time as all other visitors have. The advert is not intended to mislead anyone. Having stayed myself with 8 people and found seating and sunbeds for everyone. There is a large outside space and gas BBQ for use. Having walked back from the beach with children in 12 minutes this is the opinion I have given, when in Calpe we very rarely use the car and walk to most places. All costs are explained to enquirers, it is a pity that any misunderstanding can spoil what should be a great holiday.

Lovely villa, ideal location

We were two families with children aged between 6 and 12 holidaying together and the split accommodation was perfect to give each family some space.

The accommodation quality is excellent, modern yet comfortable and everything you could need. The pool and sunbathing area again is an excellent size and the fig tree gives lovely shade during the day if needed. The pool is the best we have ever seen at a villa! The villa was totally secure which was perfect for the children to enjoy.

The villa was absolutely ideal, with a short walk to a Lidl store which was very well stocked and priced and a 10 minute walk into Calpe for the beaches and many restaurants. We didn't hire a car and didn't need to for the two weeks.

Jane - thank you for a lovely holiday and we would certainly recommend Fig Tree Villa and Calpe for a holiday.

Lovely villia quiet location

Going on holiday with friends we had a lovely time the apartment was spacious well equipped with many new pieces of equipment everywhere was clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom and en-suite a good size and in good repair. The pool was a lovely size with a fig tree to one side giving a shady area if required along with enough loungers and tables to relax or BBQ (which we did) after a swim. Plenty of car parking space we felt safe as the villa was secure.

We had an enjoyable stay and we would not hesitate in recommending this villia to anyone

Location

We have always thought about buying a property abroad and now have eventually found one which we think is an ideal holiday house, large bedrooms, good inside and outside social space, private pool. The amenities are close by, you can walk to beaches, town, shops and restaurants, there are two airports to choose, 50 mins and 75 mins away, and there is plenty to do if you want to do it.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

There are two wide lovely beaches either side of the Penon de Ifach rock, walking with children takes 10/20 mins. The town is also close by and can be reached within 10/20 mins walk

Travel:

Alicante airport is approx. 50 mins by car there area number of rental agencies at the airport, taxis also service this area and there is a bus service from the airport which travels along the coast road to Calpe and beyond.

Valencia airport in the opposite direction is approx. 75 mins by car, travel from the airports is by motorway a very good road but it is a toll road and will cost you approx. 7 euros

Distances:

Calpe is an interesting place on its own with the Penon de Ifach, which can be reached by footpath to the top, there is a marina and fishing boats. Towns nearby by car approx. 20 mins Javea, Moriara, Teulada, Benidorm is approx. 30 mins away and there is a large shopping centre with some major retail outlets.

Further Details:

The town has a number of banks, shops restaurants, all within walking distance, there is a marina with a good restaurant, also around the marina the fishing boats come in regularly and you can eat at a number of restaurants and cafés in this area and also buy your fresh fish. Activities include glass bottom boat rides, scuba diving, jet ski's, bike hire, Segway tours, close by you will find aqua parks, aquarium, zoo, caves, museums and lovely areas just for walking and taking in the scenery.

The villa is situated so all rooms and terraces have a southwest facing view, the pool is not overlooked and will be in sun all day long. There is a covered terrace and shade should you want it, a Gas BBQ is provided, for when you need that siesta or a bit of quiet time we have provided large HD TV's with blue ray DVD players. Wifi is now available. A car is not necessary.
