Cottage In Gwinear, Near Hayle And St Ives, Cornwall, England

Overview

Property

Updated: 24-Nov-2016
Cosy Terraced Cottage, Peaceful Rural Setting Close to Lovely Beaches

Our cosy house is situated in the peaceful village of Gwinear, on top of a hill surrounded by farmland, with a picturesque church at one end and a friendly pub at the other. There are distant views of St Ives and the bay from the garden and first floor of the house. The nearest beaches are a 7 minute drive away. At one end of St Ives Bay there are vast sandy beaches with sand dunes and at the other there are the National Trust beaches of Godrevy and Gwithian with sand, rocks, lighthouse and seals. There is excellent surfing with boards and wet suits for hire. The village store/newsagents and a pitch and putt course with cafe are one mile away. There are plenty of places to visit nearby. St Ives is 5 miles (a nice little coastal train can take you there). The Eden Project is about 40 minutes drive. Penzance is 8 miles, Mousehole 10 miles, St Michael’s Mount 5 miles, and Lands End 16 miles away. There are three golf courses within a 30 minutes drive.

Lovely Cornish cottage

  • 5 of 5

Lovely homely Cornish cottage in a delightful village with all the mod cons and comforts you need. Great garden for BBQs etc and the communication with the owners was first class. Great location for exploring Cornwall and highly recommended for a lovely home away from home.

Excellent Family Cottage

  • 4 of 5

This is our third visit so you could say we are happy with the cottage. Most visitors are regulars and we would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to friends. The location is great for St Ives Bay and the surrounding attractions. The house is spacious and would easily accommodate four people and a couple of kids. There are views to the sea from the garden and if you cant drag yourself away from Netflix the wifi is good for this area.

The house has a personal homily feel with the owners touch in the rooms not the often sterile look of holiday homes. What can we say just book it.

Traditional cottage in a great location

  • 4 of 5

This cottage was comfortable, well kept and had everything we needed for our stay plus a view of the sea and St Ives in the distance! We particularly loved the quiet country location which is just outside of Hayle. Hayle itself isn't particularly picturesque but its in a great spot surrounded by some really great beaches and it has great restaurants plus a choice of supermarkets. Its also very close to St Ives so loads to see and do!

Clean comfortable cottage

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for one week in June. We had a very enjoyable stay in this clean & comfortable cottage, with all the facilities one requires. Property looked after by a very nice local man Roland who will help with any problems.

It is in a quite village with a friendly pub, which serves two real ales and a wonderful curry on a Thursday night only. All places of interest are within striking distance including the Eden Project and Land's End. Local stores and supermarkets are only a very short drive away.
