Amazing home away from home

  • 5 of 5

A very comfortable, cozy home, warm, and very well appointed, which made our evenings very pleasant after long walks or day trips - the log fire and wood pile were very much appreciated. A fantastic spot, right on the water, perfect for admiring beautiful sunsets and getting away from the hustle and bustle. We've enjoyed every minute of it, there is so much to do and see: we've particularly loved our trips to the Slate islands, Mull, and inland to Loch Fyne, Kilmartin and Crinan, lucky to see dolphins, seals and eagles - kids exctatic! Thank you for a great stay, and happy to have discovered this lovely spot, hoping we'll make it back.

wonderful cottage in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

3rd time to Craobh Haven but 1st stay at this cottage, and to us it was the best we had stayed in. Lovely, cosy and well decorated. Pub next door was welcoming with good food. We didn't have a dog but lots of walkers and locals brought their dogs into the pub, which I thought was nice of the owners to accommodate.

We spent cosy evenings by the log burner, reading and watching the vast amount of DVD's in the cottage. The bed was comfy and the bathroom very modern and stylish.

Plenty of maps and useful guides for the area that we found very useful.

There is only one negative, although it wouldn't stop us staying again, the TV is very small for the size of room and made it hard to watch the DVD,s. Also did not appear to have any TV channels connected. Plenty of books to read though and we had our own.

Overall a wonderful stay and lots of walks. A real get a way from it all, just what we wanted.

Wonderful, comfortable cottage in great location

  • 5 of 5

We spent a beautiful sunny (!) October week staying at Westerly cottage and exploring many of the wonderful places in the area. The cottage is one of several semi-detached homes set in a marina, within view of the water and the hills and islands beyond. Five of us - including our daughter and her two boys, 9 and 11 - found the cottage roomy and most comfortable. It's simply and tastefully decorated, the beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen and bath facilities are excellent. Everything was very clean and in perfect order. (Both Julie, the housekeeper, and Molly, at the pub, were very kind and helpful to us.) We enjoyed walks along the sea walls on both sides of the marina, as well as a walk over the peninsula to Ardfern (the drive to Ardfern is also stunning, with views of the lovely hills along Loch Craignish). We explored the ancient sites at Kilmartin Glen and visited the excellent KG museum (our boys loved it and didn't want to leave); traveled the lovely Glen Coe area; drove the great Fort William to Mallaig route; and spent a wonderful day on the fabulously beautiful Isle of Mull. We only wish we had had another week to spend in this unforgettable area. We would certainly stay at Westerly again, give the opportunity.

The cottage is so comfortable and welcoming,I can't recommend it highly enough. Everything you need is there. The location is great also, lots of places to go from there, a good base from which to explore western Schotland. Just be prepared for all weather and you can't go wrong.

Very spacious and modern 3 bedroom holiday cottage with beautiful views and gorgeous sunsets. Withing driving distance of many nice day trips. Local pub is literally feet away, and does offer free internet if you really need it. We very much enjoyed our family holiday here in August.
