Cottage in Fowey, Cornwall, England - Close To Town And 10 Minute Walk To The Beach
Purcell House was built in the nineteenth century by the local vicar on a piece of rock given to him by the people of Fowey. It has recently been completely refurbished to create a light and airy space, without losing it's traditional charm. It provides a perfect space for a family holiday, a romantic break or as some have found a place to work away from all the usual pressures of life. The cottage is raised up from the road so the front terrace provides a sunny spot to watch the world go by in the morning, whilst the roof terrace, which overlooks the estuary, catches the afternoon and evening sunshine. Fowey has two local beaches, beautiful coastal paths, boats and kayaks for hire and the Camel Trail is not far away. In town there are pubs and restaurants for those who wish to go out and a fishmonger, butcher and deli for those who want to enjoy the local produce at home. Highlights include the Fowey Literary Festival in May, the Mussel Festival in June and Regatta in August.
About the Owner
I live in Fowey with my husband.
From the Owner
“We bought this house when we 'weekended' in Fowey from Bristol. Moving to Fowey properly meant we needed more space. We didn't want to say goodbye to the best holiday home in Fowey so we decided to share it with others. Beware... Fowey can affect your long term plans!”
