Lakestone cottage sleeps 4 adults. We provide 1 cot and 1 high chair for a child. The cottage is perfectly located to explore the Lake District and its surrounding areas. Our cottage has been beautifully refurbished to provide a contemporary Lakeland retreat. Within walking distance to both Windermere and Bowness villages and the shores of the lake. The kitchen/diner is extensively equipped with modern appliances and granite worktops. The stylish living room is made for cosy evenings in by the log burner. The bedrooms are stylish and the luxurious bathroom complete with designer double shower cubicle with power shower and double ended free standing bath ensures total relaxation after a day on the fells. Windermere village is a lovely place to make yourself at home, with plenty of cafes, shops, traditional Lake District pubs and several excellent restaurants. From Bowness Bay, you can catch a Windermere Lake Cruise to Ambleside or Lakeside - what a way to explore without driving!

Hi, we are Carole & Mark the owners of Lakestone Cottage in Windermere. We loved the Lake District and always look forward to our stays in our lovely cottage, enjoying cosy nights in with the log burner on. The property was totally renovated in October 2011, having new and modern appliances throughout. Windermere is a great place to visit and stay, enjoying the fantastic views, walks, shops and restaurants. Notes on accommodation: The property has gas central heating which is pre-programmed as is the washer/dryer. We have a no smoking policy and pets are not allowed. Cot and High chair available free of charge. Outside: Garden to the front with companion set. Private garden to the rear with garden table and chairs. Utility Room: Freezer, washer/dryer, Iron, Ironing board, hoover, dustpan and brush, dust bin, mop & bucket, laundry basket and pegs. First aid kit and fire extinguisher. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property is cleaned at every change over. All linen and towels are provided. Other: Outside metal storage shed and washing line.

Lovely Cottage in Windermere

This is a really nice cottage within 5 minutes walk of Windermere. It has everything you need to have a pleasant stay. The kitchen has all the appliances you could want if you like cooking, and the bathroom has a good shower and a massive bath. We arrived to spotlessly clean tastefully decorated accomodation and were very impressed with what we found. You also get the bonus of easy on street parking.

Nice place Carole hope to be back next year.

Lovely Cottage

Cottage is well appointed, clean, kitchen has all the appliances you need, and the bathroom is lovely. It's only a short walk into Windermere if you don't fancy cooking. Would certainly recommend.

Excellent Accomodation

Had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage. Very clean & comfortable with excellent facilities. Location is superb with short walks to Windermere & Bowness. Would definitely recommend this property.

Great apartment in Windermere

My wife stayed in this apartment for one week for our stay in the Lake District. It's very cozy and comfortable, well equipped. Located in a quiet road it's still just a few minutes' walk to the center of Windermere which is a perfect basis for trips in the Lake District. Great holiday cottage!

Lovely Cottage for our Holiday

High Spec Cottage in the Lakes

We loved this cottage! High spec, modern, warm with all the facilities we hoped for plus very comfy beds. Although it didn't detract from our holiday, it was a fair stroll down to the lakeside and we found parking there a bit of a problem (although this obviously wasn't the owners fault). Thank you for a wonderful week!

10 minutes walk to the Lake at Bowness


Windermere train station is approximately 1 mile away, 5 minutes by taxi and easily reached by car. By car the scenic route of the A591 leads to Ambleside, Rydal Water and historic Grasmere. Branch off into the Troutbeck Valley and take one of the most breathtaking scenic drives in the Lake District - over Kirkstone Pass to Ullswater.


5 minutes walk to Windermere and 10 minutes to Bowness. 1.3 miles walk from Windermere to Bowness, 6 miles to Ambleside, 11 miles to Grasmere, 23 miles to Keswick, Kendle 9 miles.

Windermere has 1 supermarket (Booths) near the train station and 2 local convenience shops (Co-op & Morrisons) Plenty of take away, restaurants and pubs. Other local attractions include Beatrix Potter, Ferry service around the Lake and the cinema.
