Great Cottage (Windermere)

  • 5 of 5

This is a very cared for property. Warm and clean.

Luxury bathroom and lovely kitchen with dishwasher. Everything you need is there. Washer, dryer, ironing board etc.

The property is also in a convenient location for Windermere and Ambleside.

Highly recommended.

I would stay there again.

Lovely cottage close to everything we needed!

  • 5 of 5

Very well equipped cottage close to all amenities. We were very comfortable even when the weather was dull. Plenty of towels, good beds and an outdoor area which was a real sun-trap in the evening. A very enjoyable week sightseeing. Especially enjoyed the slate mine!

Home from home

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautifully furnished, as shown in its website, and absolutely spotless. We had one hitch when, without previous problems, the boiler broke down, but the owner reacted straight away and kept us informed about the necessary repairs. Our holiday was wonderful as it has been a few years since we visited the Lake District and it was fun to revisit old haunts and discover many more. The weather was great which was an added bonus. We came home feeling that we really had enjoyed a holiday to remember. We have already discussed when we can return to the area and would happily go back to this accommodation and would recommend it to friends. We had morning coffee in several places and we found the best scones was "Homeground" in Windermere.

Lovely property in a good location

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this lovely cottage with my wife and another couple (both in out late 20s) over Easter week this year.

We thought the location of the cottage was perfect situated between Bowness and Windermere. I would suggest the walking times suggested here are a little optimistic but I would still not consider the walk to be an issue.

We chose to eat out a couple of the nights we stayed and there are plenty of options within easy walking distance. On the nights we ate in we made good use of the well equipped kitchen and dining table.

The cottage is well maintained with a modern style throughout. The tenants that had stayed the week before us had a a problem with the shower leaking. As soon as Carole was made aware she let me know about the problem and was very apologetic and promised someone would come round to look at it as soon as possible. The repair meant that we were unable to use the shower for 12 hours but as we were aware of this well in advance we were able to work round this with no problem.

The only suggestion I would have is that it would be really useful to have a small waste bin in each of the bedrooms although this really is nit picking.

Overall we had a great week and would thoroughly recommend this property as a place to stay.
