About Alan Derry

my name is Alan Derry I was born in 1963. My Wife Martine and I run a successful recruitment agency in Surrey called Technical Resources Ltd. We also Own a Great Gastro pub in Cornwall called Old School Bar & Kitchen. Located near Porthtowan in Mount Hawke. www.osbk.co.uk

we own 2 holiday homes each located where our parents live so we let them out and also enjoy using them ourselves.

Why Alan Derry chose Truro & Falmouth area

My Wife Martine's family all live in this area and we have been coming to Porthtowan as a family since 1995.

we love the area and we love staying in our house which we have owned for over 10 years.

we come to stay as a break from our hectic lives in London. We always feel relaxed when we leave.

The Outstanding views, the fantastic walks, the beautiful beach, and best of all spending time eating or drinking in the Blue Bar right on the beach.

all of our kids love spending time here its a great place for outdoor life. Saffron who is 13 loves bodyboarding.Our 2 sons Drew 21 and Ryan 20 have enjoyed Surfing,Cycling,and Exploring over the years and now they have progressed to the Boardmasters Music Festival every summer in Newquay.

My favourite pastime is walking along the coast paths.

Perfect spot, Spotless, Great Views, Homely

Everything about our holiday was as described. Everything on the facilities list was provided and although sad to say the additional touch of great WiFi connection added to the week, particularly for our daughter. Free-view HD TV with a selection of DVDs were provided. The house was very homely and comfortable, decorated well and in touch with the surrounding area, The bedding and towels were all very clean.

The sea view was terrific as we could see down to the bay in Porthtowan, there were plenty of coastal walks around which are kept by the National trust with old tin mines sat on the edge of the cliffs. As the house was pet friendly we were not only able to take the dog with us but spoil her with some great walks with fab views.

The home was a great base for us as we were within easy reach of key places such as St Ives, Newquay and Padstow. We visited lovely beaches at Godrevy, Crantock near to Newquay and Holywell Bay at least 12 miles either side of Porthtowan. If you get the right weather which we did we experienced some stunning sunsets from the Porthtowan beach.

There are plenty of eating places around if this is what you prefer, we tended to eat at the home after days out at the beach as everything you need cook is provided.The neighbours were helpful and chatty which was useful and answered any questions we had about the local area.

We would definitely return again. Thanks

sehr schöne Lage .....der Richtige Ort zum entspannen.

Sehr guter Gesamteindruck...sehr sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Der richtige Ort um mit der Familie zu entspannen und von dort aus sofort ohne Umwege zum Strand zu gehen :-) . Es hat einfach alles gepasst.......wir kommen gerne wieder !!!!
