Villa in Kalkan, Mediterranean Region, Turkey - 5 minutes walk to the shops, 10 minutes to the town centre and 15 minutes to the nearest beach.

Villa Haziran is in the Kiziltas area of Kalkan and is a very spacious, luxurious, fully air conditioned detached property with stunning sea views over the Turquoise Coast. It has a private swimming pool, full internet and Wi-Fi, private parking and all within a 10-15 minute wander down to the town centre with its huge range of restaurants with rooftop dining and boutique shops. The accommodation is over three floors and comprises a large lounge / relaxing area, a modern fully equiped kitchen, master double bedroom with dressing area, balcony and ensuite, twin room with ensuite and balcony, double bedroom and 1 single bedroom (for a child less than 5 foot only) with balcony all with luxury percale linen and towels, a dining area with French doors onto huge sun terrace inviting outside living with 6 wooden sun loungers and a 6 seater table for alfresco dining.

Great return to Kalkan

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in Kalkan a couple of times over the last six years and have always loved it's unique charm, so choosing to have our family holiday there again wasn't a difficult decision. There is an amazing choice of excellent restaurants and it's in a splendid part of turkey - great coastal views and lots of history. Villa Haziran though was a lovely surprise. The open plan living and dining area is bright and fresh and there is a lot of choice for places to sit outside - around the fabulous pool, on the balcony outside two of the bedrooms, a private roof terrace too and an abundance of bathrooms which is very useful if there are a few of you.

The pool is well maintained every morning (v early as never seen or heard!) and the manager is available to discuss any needs, although the villa is very well equipped so everything is sorted. The BBQ is easy to use and the local butchers are excellent, along with the fresh veg and salad shops. The kitchen facilities are perfect, and a quality TV and WiFi make it a great place to stay in and not just use as a base.

The villa is on a hill (so you get a welcome breeze and amazing views) but it's only a 10 min walk into the town - 4/5 mins to the huge "mustn't miss" market on Thursdays - very well placed for the little footbridge over the main road.

Would I recommend it compared to other villas in the same area? Definitely, and better value too.

Is the customer service good? Better than you could expect with many organised holiday companies. As for restaurants and attractions, see Daniel's brochure at the villa, he tells you all you need to know.

Most Perfect Holiday

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived I realised that we had got the most perfect location. Kalkan old town is only 10 minutes stroll away - though I admit we did take the odd taxi home late at night or with our supermarket and bakery spoils! The villa itself could not have been more perfect either. The owner, Dan, had thought of everything to make our stay memorable. We were there for 3 weeks and we didn't want to come home. Would we go again, most definitely! About to book for September before someone else grabs it! Thank you Dan.

The best holiday

  • 5 of 5

We have just come home from the most amazing 2week holiday in kalkan. The villa has everything you could possibly need from travel plugs to wifi. The extensive welcome pack was great to arrive to and helped us to settle in with minimal stress. The management team (helen) was amazing she even came to get us to take my daughter to a pharmacy on a Sunday due to an ear infection and even bought round her personal scales so we could weigh our luggage due to all of our shopping in this truly beautiful town. The owner daniel has been really helpful and quick to reply to any questions we have had. Ww would highly recommend this villa home from home.

Truly Fantastic!!

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at many villas over the years in many locations and I have to say that Villa Haziran stands out as the best one I have stayed at. The location of Kalkan is fantastic for a relaxing stay in a traditional feeling fishing town that thankfully has managed to escape being over run with so many of the sports themed bars that you find at so many locations these days. Fortunately it still has a lovely traditional local feel. That said, what made the break so enjoyable was our stay in the villa. I loved it! It truly is a luxurious property and the owner has thought of everything you could possibly need whilst on holiday. Another plus was the communication we had with him. It was perfect, clear and nothing was too much trouble which made the logistics so easy.

The villa has a spacious feel but somehow manages to feel homely and almost like a boutique hotel at the same time. Not sure how he has achieved this but I think through attention to detail, it makes it a great place. Some of the highlights are a detailed welcome pack, (we dined in the recommended restaurants and they were fantastic, and also went to a couple of other towns that was suggested and they were great days out). There is a lovely welcoming garden/al fresco dining area by the pool, complete with a selection of laundered towels for use at the pool which is so often not supplied. There are ceramic soap dispensers in all the bathrooms, a water cooler, a great welcome pack for when you arrive late at night, instructions in English for the kitchen appliances... and for the children even ice lolly moulds!

There is a flat screen TV and dvd player in the lounge,(ideal for entertaining the children so remember your dvds!), there is also internet access, so if you really have to watch English TV you can log in and watch the iplayers on your laptops etc.

I have never had the desire to return to a location in the past but have already booked my return visit to the villa in September!! The villa is situated up on the hillside area of town, which is a plus for the great views. It is a fairly steep walk down into town initially, but after a day of getting used to it you stride up and down like one of the locals and the taxi rank is in the centre of town for getting back up after a night out.

If you are looking for a perfect getaway in a beautiful unspoilt part of Turkey in an exceptional villa you won't be disappointed.

We as a family of six, had a really super holiday in Kalkan .

The villa was really great. A good size , bright and spacious and really airy with its sliding doors and balconies.

Daniel , the owner could not have been more helpful and quick to respond to all our questions.

The pool was a really good size for us and cleaned regularly. There was great outdoor seating and plenty of shade with large parasols.

The sitting room area was very comfy and great for us watching DVDs together. The kids loved it.

All the bedrooms and bathrooms were a good size and well maintained. The linen was also really nice.

The only thing I would say is that the photos on the website don't do the villa justice.

We would definitely return here.

From the Owner

After visiting Turkey with work, I came across Kalkan and immediately fell in love with the traditional feel to the town. It seems to attract those that want a quieter holiday rather than those who want nightclubs, English breakfasts and American fast food. The small and beautiful fishing port is situated on the stunning turquoise coast of Turkey, un-spoilt by mass tourism and offers a more sophisticated experience than the usual resort town. Seeped in history Kalkan is one of the most beautiful locations along Turkey's fabulous Lycian Coast. Sunday Times "Kalkan attracts the kind of visitor who would also enjoy Tuscany or the Dordogne" The Guardian likens the town to "the Italian Riviera minus the poseurs"

Activity and Interests

Kalkan beach - 15/20 minutes walk. Small and less private

Kaputas beach - 10 minutes drive or bus. More rustic and attracts the locals.

Lots of steps down but beautiful views of the Turquoise coast.

Patara beach - 15 minutes drive or bus. This is a beautiful beach included in the worlds top 10 finest beaches and has miles of fine golden sand with sunbed and parasol hire and a beach bar.

Dalaman international airport is within 2 hours by car. The roads are very good and there is one toll to Kalkan.

Once in Kalkan, a car isn't essential but if you would like to explore the area, probably best to hire one.

Kalkan town centre - 600m

Kaputas Beach - 9km

Patara Beach - 12km

Kas - 27km

Fethiye - 80km
