Overview

About the property

House in St Davids, Pembrokeshire, Wales - Ideally Situated, Close To The Centre Of St Davids And 10 Minutes Walk To The Coast Path

The house was built circa 1800 and has period character and charm. It is positioned close to the centre of St Davids with easy access to the Cathedral, shops, pubs, restaurants and other amenities. The property offers spacious living accommodation with modern kitchen, separate dining room and living room. The conservatory overlooking the garden is a special feature and there is also a sunny patio area next to the kitchen, ideal for breakfast outside. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is a 10 minute walk away, while Whitesands, voted Beach of the Year by the BBC's Countryfile Magazine, is easily accessible. There are regular boat trips to and around Ramsey Island (an RSPB Bird Sanctuary) where you will see seals and a wide variety of sea birds. For the more adventurous, you can try kayaking, rock climbing - or "coasteering", as invented in Pembrokeshire! There are regular concerts in the Cathedral and an annual drama festival which includes performances in the Bishops Palace.

About JOHN DOW

We have been coming on holiday to St Davids for the last 30 years, from our first holiday walking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path (when we stayed in the youth hostel) to camping or cottage holidays with our three daughters. We enjoy St Davids mix of coastal scenery, historic buildings and music and drama festivals.

JOHN DOW purchased this cottage in 2012

Why JOHN DOW chose St Brides Bay, St Davids & The West Coast

We chose this house because it has real character and we could imagine ourselves sitting in the garden, watching the sunset! We wanted to be able to walk to the Cathedral while at the same time being close to the sea and the coast path.

What makes this cottage unique

Being close to the centre means you don't need a car: you can walk to the pubs/restaurants and galleries and shops, walk to the beach and coast path and the cathedral. There are also regular bus services to the nearest towns. In the summer, you can even hop on the Celtic Coaster bus down to Whitesands Bay.

Guestbook comments from the owner

A holiday home with everything

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful house, very central to St Davids so perfect for the cathedral festival, also for beach access by car and cliff walks on foot. Extremely comfortable and well equipped house, excellent facilities, great beds. It also has offroad parking spaces which are worth a lot in St Davids. Great kitchen facilities, lovely conservatory and garden. We will be back.

Great Location and beautifully Laid Out

  • 5 of 5

The house is located just off the main street in St Davids and is therefore superbly convenient for all the city's amenities. The house is a large 3 bed property with a very pleasant garden. However the best, and most used feature by us, was the conservatory, which has central heating and thus an additional room even in the cooler April evenings.

Wifi was a bit weak at times, and certain rooms got slightly colder than others, but overall fully deserves our 5 star rating.

spacious and comfortable house.

really enjoyable week in a lovely house, whilst very close and convenient for the town is quiet and secluded. Excellent pub meals in the town. Stunning coast. Bird watching trips to Ramsey and Skomer were outstanding. Coastal wild flowers a dream to behold.

"Brilliant Bryn Hyfryd!"

  • 5 of 5

This was a delightful property in which to stay. It had character, space and charm. We loved the fact that there were many differing rooms in which to relax and to eat. The garden adds to this, catching the afternoon and evening sun as well as offering access through the door in the wall to the centre of St David's which we reckoned was just 150 yards away. As well as being walking distance to shops, pubs, cafes and the cathedral, the coastal path is only a short bike ride away and Whitesands beach 2 miles by bike or car. In the middle of St David's, TYF can provide you with a range of activities such as kayaking and coasteering and they are one of a number of companies offering boat trips round the offshore islands.

The property is clean and well-presented. Booking was very straightforward and the owners were very amenable when we had to make a change to the dates. We hope to return and would very much recommend the property.

Home from home

We enjoyed a lovely stay in this very comfortable "home from home" for a family re-union and celebration of my father's 90 th birthday.

Well placed for walking into St David's and accessing the Coastal Path. A lovely peaceful location and would love to visit again
