Grade II listed traditional cottage in heart of St Davids - garden and parking

Overview

Property

Updated: 07-Nov-2016
House in St Davids, Pembrokeshire, Wales - Ideally Situated, Close To The Centre Of St Davids And 10 Minutes Walk To The Coast Path

The house was built circa 1800 and has period character and charm. It is positioned close to the centre of St Davids with easy access to the Cathedral, shops, pubs, restaurants and other amenities. The property offers spacious living accommodation with modern kitchen, separate dining room and living room. The conservatory overlooking the garden is a special feature and there is also a sunny patio area next to the kitchen, ideal for breakfast outside. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is a 10 minute walk away, while Whitesands, voted Beach of the Year by the BBC's Countryfile Magazine, is easily accessible. There are regular boat trips to and around Ramsey Island (an RSPB Bird Sanctuary) where you will see seals and a wide variety of sea birds. For the more adventurous, you can try kayaking, rock climbing - or "coasteering", as invented in Pembrokeshire! There are regular concerts in the Cathedral and an annual drama festival which includes performances in the Bishops Palace.

About the Owner

We have been coming on holiday to St Davids for the last 30 years, from our first holiday walking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path (when we stayed in the youth hostel) to camping or cottage holidays with our three daughters. We enjoy St Davids mix of coastal scenery, historic buildings and music and drama festivals.

really enjoyable week in a lovely house, whilst very close and convenient for the town is quiet and secluded. Excellent pub meals in the town. Stunning coast. Bird watching trips to Ramsey and Skomer were outstanding. Coastal wild flowers a dream to behold.

"Brilliant Bryn Hyfryd!"

  • 5 of 5

This was a delightful property in which to stay. It had character, space and charm. We loved the fact that there were many differing rooms in which to relax and to eat. The garden adds to this, catching the afternoon and evening sun as well as offering access through the door in the wall to the centre of St David's which we reckoned was just 150 yards away. As well as being walking distance to shops, pubs, cafes and the cathedral, the coastal path is only a short bike ride away and Whitesands beach 2 miles by bike or car. In the middle of St David's, TYF can provide you with a range of activities such as kayaking and coasteering and they are one of a number of companies offering boat trips round the offshore islands.

The property is clean and well-presented. Booking was very straightforward and the owners were very amenable when we had to make a change to the dates. We hope to return and would very much recommend the property.

Home from home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a lovely stay in this very comfortable "home from home" for a family re-union and celebration of my father's 90 th birthday.

Well placed for walking into St David's and accessing the Coastal Path. A lovely peaceful location and would love to visit again

Peace and quiet

  • 5 of 5

A lovely listed house with interesting features. Plenty of room for everyone to find a quiet place if required. A well equipped kitchen with everything needed to cater for a family. The sitting room is very comfortable with plenty of seating and a lovely log burner. The dinning room is next to the kitchen and is very traditional with plenty of room.

Upstairs has loads of room and lots of wardrobe space!

Modern bathrooms with lovely views towards the sea. The beds are very comfortable with good quality linen. Outside the garden offers several quiet seating areas. Fruit trees and shrubs make it a very private place.

We would return and the house has its own private parking which is a bonus in the centre of St David's. Very pleasant communications with the owners. All in all a lovely place to stay. Far from the madding crowd!

We chose this house because it has real character and we could imagine ourselves sitting in the garden, watching the sunset! We wanted to be able to walk to the Cathedral while at the same time being close to the sea and the coast path.
