Large Victorian House On Green With Outstanding Sea Views In Peaceful Village

The property is a restored double fronted Victorian family home restored to a good standard using quality furnishings. It is used primarily as a much loved family home and so is furnished to a good standard. The house is ideal for family gatherings or groups of friends and families . Everyone will enjoy the location in the heart of a beautiful village with fantastic views of the sea and golf course, and easy access to the coast. South beach is a short walk across the golf course.

Why Kate Baker chose Penally

We came to visit friends and walked from Tenby to Penally across South Beach. Stopped for a pint in the Cross Inn and stumbled upon the house with it's for sale sign, we stood on the terrace peered through the windows and were immediately smitten with both the house and particularly the views and tranquil location. The house sits in the heart of the village on the green in front of the 13th century church with far reaching sea views. What's not to love? The village is ideally situated for walking,cycling, sea activities and in a great location to explore the beauty of Pembrokeshire.

What makes this house unique

You arrive at the house and all your worries slip away, it's a house from a bygone age and set in the heart of a beautiful village where you can do lots or nothing at all. We have loved renovating the house as a family and have hopefully done a sympathetic job and kept it in keeping with the character of the village.When we bought the house it had been in the same family for over 100 years and had no heating and electricity only on the ground floor only. We hope we have brought the house into the 20th century whilst not losing it's history.

Coast/Beach:

Penally to South beach Viewpoint is an easy access walk of 0.7miles along a mostly level tarmac path to wooden viewpoint rewarded by great sea views. The walk passes a rifle range,then golf course and finally the dunes. It is worth taking binoculars as the cliffs and foreshore to the west are rich in bird life. There are views to Caldey and St Margaret's and east to Tenby which is approx 1.5 miles walk along the dog friendly south beach.

Travel:

Penally is an easy 2 hour drive down the M4 from the Severn bridge Crossing near Bristol, with motorway and duel carriageway for all but the last few miles.

It is approximately 3.5 hours from Heathrow, 4 hours from west London, 3.5 hours from Birmingham and 1.5 hours from Cardiff.

Penally has a train station and trains run from London Paddington via Reading, Bristol, Cardiff and Swansea.

It ticked all our boxs

This property has been thoughtfully planned, kates touchs are evident throughout, the property has a feel of home from home as you walk in the door.

Its 4 double bedrooms and bunkroom easily accommodated 5 adults and 4 children, it is warm, spacious, and well equipped, we ate in every evening, had a log fire going in the lounge, and much fun on the table tennis table..........

An absolute gem of a cottage !

Had the best stay ever. The owners have thought of everything, the cottage was warm clean and beautifully furnished . A real home from home . Balloons and fizz left to celebrate my 50 th birthday plus a welcome pack. The owner couldnt do more to ensure you have a wonderful break. We will be back next year!!

Lovely property excellent position.

Had a lovely weekend at the house despite weather, house is perfectly as described. Owner polite and swift with questions and answers. Ideally located in penally short walk to beach, bus stop and train station. Beds comfortable so quiet at night can't remember hearing any traffic noise at night.

Fantastic stay in a stunning location

If your looking for somewhere to stay with beautiful views, great interior designed house, loads of extras (including dvds and board games etc) then Rock villa and Penally should be on your list of places to stay.

The early morning September sunrise shouldn’t be missed, a simply breath taking view across the golf course to the beach and Carmarthenshire coastline in the distance.

Thank you Kate for the extra little touches, they were very much appreciated.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house.

Absolute perfection for a family get together!

Couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome to start our short break at Rock Villa. Kate Baker the owner, provided some extremely thoughtful touches in readiness for the birthday girl e.g. helium birthday balloons, Prosecco and chocolates. Also some basics to get us going such as milk, tea, eggs, welshcakes and bread. She gave clear advice about the house and recycling. The house is the best equipped we've ever stayed in. The quality of the rooms furniture and all contents are exceptional. The character of the old villa hasn't been lost but enhanced with stylish decoration. Set in a gorgeous location overlooking Penally beach. A quaint little pub in touching distance with a great menu and great welcome. Rock Villa is a hidden gem and will not disappoint anyone who is lucky enough to stay. Thank you Kate!

Booking Notes:
We ask for a 25% non-refundable deposit to secure the booking, with the balance to paid 6 weeks prior to your arrival date. Payment by bank transfer is preferred but can also be made by cheque.
If booking within 6 weeks of your stay the full amount is due.
We also ask for a good housekeeping bond of £200, Refunded in full within 7 days of the end of your holiday unless there are any significant damages or extra cleaning required.
We do not accept bookings for Hen or Stag parties.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday for weekly bookings. Please arrive after 4pm and vacate by 10am on departure day. Rock Villa is a large house and the cleaning team need 6 hours to make sure it's looking its best. Key collection details are explained at booking

Notes on prices:
In low season three nights which extend through a weekend can be booked at 75% of full week price. Three nights which do not extend through a weekend can be booked at 50% of full week price. Lower occupancy prices are by negotiation.
