About Kate Baker

I live in Cardiff with my husband, son and our welsh terrier. We love to spend as much time in Pembrokeshire as school and work allow.

Kate Baker purchased this house in 2009

Why Kate Baker chose Penally

We came to visit friends and walked from Tenby to Penally across South Beach. Stopped for a pint in the Cross Inn and stumbled upon the house with it's for sale sign, we stood on the terrace peered through the windows and were immediately smitten with both the house and particularly the views and tranquil location. The house sits in the heart of the village on the green in front of the 13th century church with far reaching sea views. What's not to love? The village is ideally situated for walking, cycling, sea activities and in a great location to explore the beauty of Pembrokeshire.

What makes this house unique

You arrive at the house and all your worries slip away, it's a house from a bygone age and set in the heart of a beautiful village where you can do lots or nothing at all. We have loved renovating the house as a family and have hopefully done a sympathetic job and kept it in keeping with the character of the village. When we bought the house it had been in the same family for over 100 years and had no heating and electricity on the ground floor only. We hope we have brought the house into the 20th century whilst not losing it's history.

Fabulous house in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

A large group of us with small children spent a lovely weekend over the New Year at Rock Villa. Fabulous and well-equipt house.

The host had included some lovely touches (decorations and a magnum of fizz) for our new year celebrations.

Great location close to the beach and a very short drive into Tenby. To echo a previous review - I want to live there!

We want to live there!

  • 5 of 5

Charming atmospheric house in a lovely village location just outside Tenby. Great sea views from the house and just 5 minutes walk to the sandy beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the personal touches in the house. It has obviously been carefully and thoughtfully restored over the last few years by the owners. The location by the village green is lovely. Amenities are close - with a village newsagents/shop, even a train service to Tenby (3 minutes journey along the coast). There are lots of interesting places and beaches to visit nearby in Pembrokeshire. The hidden table tennis table a real bonus for teenage children. The owner Kate was very accommodating and extremely helpful. We hope to come back.

Beautiful Large comfortable family home, beautifully kept and tastefully decorated.

We have just had a fabulous, 4 nights at the house. We had Canadians friends visiting and would usually stay in Tenby itself, I was worried we would regret not being in the town but I was very wrong, we loved the location. We walked across the golf course, onto south beach each day and thoroughly enjoyed our walk into Tenby. Once we had a taxi back at night which was only £4. It was perfect to come away from the hustle and bustle of Tenby and back to Penally village where we enjoyed the quieter time and great views from the house. I feel the photos on owners direct do not do this property justice, it is beautiful with great views and beautiful decor. We ate at the pub a few doors down which was very friendly and good food. The house has everything you could possibly want, a real home from home feel. Thank you Kate for the welcome pack provided, and letting us share your property, we had such a great time. All we wanted was longer, to explore the area more, we would definitely love to stay again and would strongly recommend this property to anyone.

Above and beyond.

I cannot praise this house enough!

Everything was as described, but with the added bonus of being so beautifully presented. Everywhere we looked inside the house we found another quirky touch.

Outside, the views were stunning. A beautiful view over the golf course to the sea.

Tenby was only a short bus ride away, or about half an hour to walk.

The village of Penally was friendly, and the pub on the corner offered great atmosphere and service. The Penally Abbey Hotel also offered lovely food and views.

Highly recommended.
