About Kate Baker

I live in Cardiff with my husband, son and our welsh terrier. We love to spend as much time in Pembrokeshire as school and work allow.

Kate Baker purchased this house in 2009

Why Kate Baker chose Penally

We came to visit friends and walked from Tenby to Penally across South Beach. Stopped for a pint in the Cross Inn and stumbled upon the house with it's for sale sign, we stood on the terrace peered through the windows and were immediately smitten with both the house and particularly the views and tranquil location. The house sits in the heart of the village on the green in front of the 13th century church with far reaching sea views. What's not to love? The village is ideally situated for walking, cycling, sea activities and in a great location to explore the beauty of Pembrokeshire.

What makes this house unique

You arrive at the house and all your worries slip away, it's a house from a bygone age and set in the heart of a beautiful village where you can do lots or nothing at all. We have loved renovating the house as a family and have hopefully done a sympathetic job and kept it in keeping with the character of the village. When we bought the house it had been in the same family for over 100 years and had no heating and electricity only on the ground floor only. We hope we have brought the house into the 20th century whilst not losing it's history.

Family holiday to celebrate grandad's 70th birthday

  • 5 of 5

Our whole family gathered to celebrate a big birthday in Rock Villa. When we arrived we found that Kate Baker had hung 'happy birthday' banners in the windows for us and there was a gift of beer with a special glass on the dining room table, along with crackers to help us celebrate. In the fridge we found chocolates, Welsh butter, Welsh cakes, wine and milk. It was a wonderful welcome to a wonderful family home. The house is large and spacious with magnificent sea views from many of the rooms. It's in a pretty location in a quiet and peaceful village, with easy access to the beach. Tenby is a 20 minute walk away. It was ideal for the grandchildren, especially the huge box of Lego for them to play with. The whole family enjoyed playing table tennis in the games room and one fine evening we sat in the front garden for a barbecue. The kitchen was well-equipped and the beds comfortable with good quality bed linen. We would definitely recommend this property. We have only one small recommendation and that is that maybe there could be some information about recycling and rubbish collection as we weren't sure what to do about this.

Fabulous house in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

A large group of us with small children spent a lovely weekend over the New Year at Rock Villa. Fabulous and well-equipt house.

The host had included some lovely touches (decorations and a magnum of fizz) for our new year celebrations.

Great location close to the beach and a very short drive into Tenby. To echo a previous review - I want to live there!

We want to live there!

  • 5 of 5

Charming atmospheric house in a lovely village location just outside Tenby. Great sea views from the house and just 5 minutes walk to the sandy beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the personal touches in the house. It has obviously been carefully and thoughtfully restored over the last few years by the owners. The location by the village green is lovely. Amenities are close - with a village newsagents/shop, even a train service to Tenby (3 minutes journey along the coast). There are lots of interesting places and beaches to visit nearby in Pembrokeshire. The hidden table tennis table a real bonus for teenage children. The owner Kate was very accommodating and extremely helpful. We hope to come back.
