Townhouse in Beaune, Cote d'Or, Burgundy, France - Situated in a quiet residential street with on-street parking, yet a few minutes stroll to centre.

Maison Belin is a pretty 18th century typical Beaune townhouse with beamed ceilings. Recently fully restored to provide very comfortable accommodation, with fully fitted kitchen, new bathrooms and central heating. Although situated in a quiet residential street, the house is only minutes walk from the historic town centre with its numerous restaurants (over 50) three of them Michelin starred, wine cellars, cafes and shops. It is only 10 minutes stroll also to the vast vineyards of the Cote d'Or in Burgundy. 100m from the house are the pretty Jardins des Verdures with its ancient city baths and shady, secluded seating.

"We spent a magical long weekend in Beaune staying in Maison Belin in May 2012. This lovely old town house is an ideal base from which to explore Beaune and the surrounding region. Perfectly set up for guests, providing all the comforts of home and a short walk from the centre of town.

Although we only saw the owner once for the hand-over of the keys, it was good to know she was in the same town in case we had any problems/questions and she also provided a few good restaurant recommendations. We would definitely stay here again." Toby and Becks Atkinson.



We had two nights in this very pretty and beautifully furnished town house right in the historic area of Beaune. The house is very well equipped and the owners were very helpful and kind including a complementary bottle of wine! It is also a very short stroll to all the shops, restaurants and local wineries. I would definitely recommend this house for a base for a holiday or short stay in Beaune.

Location

Special interest holidays:

Beaune is the wine capital of Burgundy and there are many wine houses who are open for wine-tastings and cellar visits.

Travel:

Beaune is approximately 6 hours drive from the channel ports of Calais and Boulogne. Lyon and its airport are 90 minutes drive away and Geneva airport is 2 and a half hours away. Dole Airport (45 mins away)now has direct flights to London Stansted with RyanAir. Use of a car is not necessary as all facilities are within minutes on foot.

Distances:

All of the major vineyards of Burgundy are within 25 - 35km of Beaune. Dijon is 30km to the north and Lyon 180 km to the south, with the Swiss border just 2 hours drive away. Maison Belin is just 10 minutes walk from the train station (Paris via TGV is two and a half hours away.)

Further Details:

Beaune is noted for being the centre of the Burgundy wine industry. It is surrounded by hillsides covered in vineyards and picturesque villages. It has numerous chateaux, specialist food shops, endless restaurants (including Michelin starred), street cafes with the terraces and all within the ancient city walls. The famous Hospices de Beaune is just 5 minutes walk from Maison Belin. Market day is Saturday in the centre of Beaune, just 5 minutes walk away. On Wednesdays there is a smaller market.

Notes on accommodation: On the morning of departure guests should leave no later that 11a.m. and on the afternoon of arrival guests should not arrive before 5p.m. or after 9p.m. Please contact the owner if any flexibility is needed with this timing. Outside: There are public gardens just 100m from the house. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen are included in the price and the property is cleaned and sheets and towels changed weekly (for lets of longer than a week). Other: On the ground floor is the dining area with a large table seating up to 6 people. Wifi connections are available throughout the house.

Amazing!

Very friendly host. Great location, very quiet, and close to all the activities in Beaune. We got lucky, and the owner's husband took us on a tour of his wine cellar. Great wines and thoughtful tour.

Great place to stay.

The location of this property is perfect for visiting the area. Easy walk into town (2 blocks). Lots of things to do. Vivienne was there to meet us and offered great advice on things to see and things to do. The apartment was great and very well taken care of. Lots of room and everything you need in the kitchen. The only draw back was parking. You have to pay 5.20 Euros for the day.

Excellent base in Beaune

The house is clean, comfortable and in a great location. We found parking out the front of the home each day...make sure you have coins for Euro 5-20 for the all day parking, the machines do not take notes and did not accept any of our cards.

We were able to walk to everything, we loved our walk all through the vineyards.

Vivienne was really easy to communicate with and has everything you will need in the house for a relaxed stay.

A delightful stay at a beautiful property in central Beaune

A beautiful property within walking distance of anything that you may want to do or visit. Owner Vivienne Holliday was friendly and helpful. The interior design of the house, with the living room on the top floor, makes sense when you are actually there. It was as advertised, well-appoimted.

Highlights included a visit to the Hospice and the Patriarche wine firm. We also had a very nice dinner, with friendly service, at Le Monge in the Rue Lorraine.
