Superb - the accommodation was spacious, warm and comfortable.

Excellent! Everything provided for within the house by very generous hosts. Large secluded garden - ideal for children. Also, an extremely interesting location (close to the coastal path and small towns with good facilities). Strongly recommended!

Simply the Best

  • 5 of 5

Super cottage, very spacious with large kitchen diner and comfortable living room supplied with DVD's, CD's, reading books for pleasure and an extensive selection of guide books to the area and surrounds.

Everthing you could possibly need and more which you dont usually get in a holiday cottage.

Extremely clean with comfortable beds and furniture as well as a lovely welcome tray.

Garden an excellent size and super for my two Irish Setters as it is enclosed. Also lovely to sit out in when the weather allowed with plenty of seating areas.

Ideally situated with so many places to visit and only managed a few.

Visited Tenby, Manorbier Castle & Bay, Narberth which is lovely, Saundersfoot, Amroth & Pendine, also Laugharne where Dylan Thomas lived.

Enjoyed lots of walks, amazing scenery and great food. Fish & chips at Saundersfoot were so much better than the ones at home.

Already booked to return in 2017 and looking forward to seeing much more of Pembrokeshire and another lovely stay at the cottage.

If you are looking for a peaceful base to explore or just chill out you should definately stay here!

Thanks Martyn & Sue for your hospitality and sharing your part of paradise with us!

Simply wonderful

  • 5 of 5

Our 3rd visit to Manor Bedw and as before Martyn & Sue have the house immaculate. Many thanks for the Easter egg, flowers & card - what a lovely welcome! Brodie loves the garden, especially all the sticks to chew. We also enjoyed walking around Llys-y-Fran reservoir in rain, hail, wind & sun - Marloes Sands - Newport Sands. We visited Cardigan / St Dogmael's market (Tues 9 - 1pm) up for an award / Heatherton - full on activities day / Narberth (of course) - fav deli / ice cream, butchers etc. Porthgain / St Davids - some new places, some old but all lovely in their own way. Look forward to returning again!

Really lovely

  • 5 of 5

Quite simply the nicest cottage we have ever stayed in - welcoming, cosy, comfortable, very well equipped and in a lovely setting. Some days we had to force ourselves to go out! Thank you Sue & Martyn for your kindness - we will definitely be back.

Our stay at the cottage

  • 5 of 5

Had a lovely holiday at the cottage. The accommodation was excellent and very well equipped. Very spacious and spotlessly clean. The beds are really comfortable, There is a large private dog friendly garden with plenty of wildlife to sit and watch. We really appreciated the leaflets and maps and used them to plan our days out. We tried some of the recommended places to eat. The best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Definitely deserves 5 stars

Superb accommodation

  • 5 of 5

We travel all over staying in country cottages once or twice a year but have never stayed anywhere as well thought out or equipped as Manor Bedw. Everything we needed had been thought about first and then provided for. Very clean and welcoming and we relaxed as soon as we arrived knowing the dog was secure in the garden and provided for in the cottage. We have had very reasonable weather, bright but chilly, so managed to get out and about every day to - Llys y Fran reservoir (lovely walking route and nice cafe) - Stackpole and Barafundle Bay (beautiful coastal route and lovely tea rooms at the Quay - Whitesands and St Davids - Tenby North & South Beach (smashing for the dog and quaint town) - Newport, Cardigan & Poppit Sands - Lawrenny Quay (circular walk & great Quayside tearooms). The numerous maps and books helped plan our days and were so useful and well organised. We have thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Pembrokeshire and will come back to see the lovely places we missed out and wouldn't hesitate to return to Manor Bedw Cottage. Keep doing as you are doing because this is certainly 5 star accommodation at its best and many thanks to you both.

Location

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The cottage is very centrally located for the Pembrokeshire coastline. Tenby is a 30 minute drive to the south and Cardigan a 30 minute drive to the north. The nearest beach is Amroth, 12 miles away.

Travel:

The nearest airports are Cardiff (2 hour drive) and Bristol (2 and a half hour drive).

Fishguard Ferry Terminal (ferries to/from Ireland) - 16 miles; Pembroke Dock Ferry Terminal (also to Ireland) - 22 miles.

Distances:

Our local market town of Narberth is a 10 minute drive away. You’ll find art and craft galleries, an excellent antiques market, a very fine deli and many small shops selling everything from designer clothes to kitchen equipment. There are very good food shops as well as excellent cafes, restaurants and pubs.

There are a range of farm shops within a short driving distance selling cheese, meat, milk and locally brewed ale.

Further Details:

Outdoor Activities

There are great outdoor activities on our doorstep. We are close to the Preseli Hills, a superb area for walking & cycling. It’s known as Bluestone Country because the Preseli Hills are where the Stonehenge blue stones are believed to have come from. Great tracks for mountain biking as well. Activities in our area also include fishing, canoeing & horse riding.

Beaches and Islands

Pembrokeshire is famous for its beaches and a spectacular coastline. We are very central, whether you want to visit the popular beaches to the south, such as Tenby & Saundersfoot, or the many beautiful unspoilt bays to the north and west. A visit to, or a trip around, one of Pembrokeshire’s islands is high on the priority list for most visitors, whether you want the peace and tranquillity of bird-watching or seal-spotting, or the excitement of a jet-boat trip. Other water sports include surfing, wind surfing, sailing, diving & coasteering.

Family Attractions

For the child in you (or with you!) we are close to Oakwood, Folly Farm and Heatherton as well as a wide range of other attractions for all ages. For families Pembrokeshire is perfect with safe beaches, wonderful scenery, a wealth of history (castles) and plenty to do even in wet weather.

Arts and Crafts

Pembrokeshire has always been a magnet for artists, with its unique quality of light, spectacular coastline and breathtaking landscapes. You can spend many happy hours browsing through galleries, workshops and studios - and be assured, you’ll receive a warm welcome wherever you go.

Food

Finally, Pembrokeshire is renowned for the quality of its food – seafood landed locally, cheese-making and lots of small organic farms where people have a huge commitment to producing the best food in a sustainable way. This means that you can buy good food locally at Farmers’ Markets or from farm shops, and you will find local menus at many of the restaurants and pubs.
