Here at Annstead Farm we have 8 cottages all situated on our family run 600 acre arable and livestock farm which lies between the coastal villages of Beadnell and Seahouses on the magnificent Northumbrian coast. Less than 3 minutes walk to Annstead Beach! During your stay your immediate neighbours will be the farm animals and the fabulous wildlife of this Outstanding Area of Natural Beauty including the bird life of Budle Bay and the seals of The Farne Islands, part of the famous Lindisfarne Nature Reserve covering over 8000 acres. Northumberland is steeped in history. The Sagas of the Romans and the Vikings and boasts numerous stately homes and more castles than any other county in Britain. With so much to see and do deciding where to start is the hardest choice, however we are ideally located for whatever type of holiday you are looking for bit it walking, cycling, pony-treking, golfing or just relaxing - all in breathtaking surroundings!

Literally 3 minutes walk from your cottage door and you can be standing on Annstead Beach, arguably one of the best stretches of virtually deserted sandy beach in Northumberland!


Nearest Airports are Newcastle (60 miles) and Edinburgh (85 miles)

Nearest train stations are to the north Berwick upon Tweed (25 miles) and to the south Alnmouth (15 miles) - main London to Edinburgh line. Car is recommened but not essential.


Beadnell and Seahouses are the nearest villages - both no more than a mile either side of the farm. Farne Island boat trips depart from Seahouse Harbour. Bamburgh Castle (5 minute drive). Holy Island (30 minute drive). Alnwick (20 minutes).

Further Details:

Beadnell, Seahouses and Bamburgh between them have an abundance of good quality restaurants, pubs and take aways.

Seahouses has a Doctors, Bank, Post Office, Supermarket, Butchers, Bakers, etc.

Nearest hospitals with A&E are Alnwick and Berwick.

Larger Supermarkets - Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, Aldi & M&S Food in Berwick. Sainsburys, Morrisons and Lidle in Alnwick.

Hogwarts School from the 1st Harry Potter Film is in fact Alnwick Castle, with its magificient treehouse and gardens - well worth a visit.

Booking Notes:
Enquiries/Bookings can be made by telephone or email and will be answered asap - usually within a matter of hours. Bookings will be confirmed in writing. Payment is by cheque or bank transfer. One third of the total amount is due within 7 days of booking as a deposit and the balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to arrival.


Changeover Day:
Saturday changeovers however this can be flexible out of season and for last minute bookings. Arrival is from 4 p.m. and we ask that departure is by 10 a.m.

Notes on prices:
Prices include all heating, electric, bed linen and towels.
Pets - £15 per pet.
Short Breaks:- Bookings of 3 nights or more are taken last minute if there is still availability in peak season. Out of season short breaks can be booked in advance.
Short Break Charges are: - 3 nights is 70% of weekly charge, 4 nights is 80%, 5 nights £90% and 6 nights 100%.

One third of total amount is due within 7 days of booking. The balance payment and refundable good housekeeping deposit are then due no later than 6 weeks prior to arrival. We accept BACS or cheque.

  • Notes on accommodation: All cottages listed on this site (another 4 are available) are heated by oil central heating or NSH. All heating, electric, (coal for East End House & Gardener's Cottage) bed linen, bath & hand towels (one each per person), bath mats, tea towels, oven gloves are supplied. Bedding is in the form of duvets and all beds are made up for your arrival. We can also provide travel cots, high chairs and stair gates free of charge on request. All our properties are situated on Annstead Farm and are within easy reach of each other so are also ideal for family or friends to holiday together. A car is advisable but not essential as we are on a rural bus route. The seaside villages of Beadnell and Seahouses, where boat trips to The Farne Islands depart, are 15-20 minutes walk either side of the farm. We are within easy reach of Bamburgh and its castle 5 minutes by car, Alnwick Castle (Hogwarts) and Gardens and Holy Island just 20/30 minutes away. Outside: All our larger cottages (a further two available) have enclosed lawned gardens. Our one bedroom cottages (another one available) have enclosed patio areas. All have garden furniture and off road parking. OR you can also just nip over to the beautiful sandy beach on your doorstep!
