About the Owner
We are a family of five, two boys 15 and 17 and a daughter, 8. Darcy's cottage is attached to our house and was restored by us in 2009. We moved to York from London in 2005 so our two boys could attend St John's School for the Deaf in Boston Spa. Our daughter came along 3 years later! We love York. It's a vibrant city but small enough to walk around easily. It has so much history and there's always something to see or do. The best thing is the people. They are so lovely and friendly!
In 2015 we have added two more cottages, Dashwood and Willoughby's Loft. As you can see there is a Jane Austen theme, Heroes, Heroines and Villains!

Our stay in York was perfect. Thank you for the use of this beautiful cottage. We have fallen in love with the cottage and York and will definitely return. The supplies left for our arrival was a lovely touch. Thanks Gaynor, Sean and Shea.
Have absolutely loved our stay and will be recommending it to everyone and hopefully will be back. Thanks again and best wishes George and Rachel
This was the perfect location for a relaxing break. Very peaceful and every nedd was catered for at the cottage. The log fire was delightful and the welcome package made us feel right at home. Would definitely stay again - especially for the fantastic shower! Aaron and Gemma D'arcy.

Lovely Charming Cottage
Darcy Cottage has everything you need. It is in a lovely village and the owner Michelle goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. From the bread, milk, jam and lots more extras she leaves for you in the fridge, to the home made biscuits she brings around when you arrive. Thank you Michelle
Couldn't catch my breath at how beautiful this place is, from the minute we arrived, we were returning.... July can't come quick enough xx Thank you for making this such a pleasant and happy place to come xx Kev and Jo, Birmingham
An absolutely beautiful cottage in a perfect location, 10 minutes to the park and ride into York. A very friendly pub in walking distance (0.7 of a mile). Darcy's cottage was extremely well equipped and very comfortable. The bathroom is exceptional. Lovely comfy bed, gorgeous wood burner in a very comfortable lounge. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our two cavaliers. Michelle was very welcoming and made sure our stay was very comfortable. Lovely touch with cake, wine, jam, milk and butter. I would highly recommend this cottage.
Lovely cottage in a perfect location
Perfectly located as it is near to York and other historic sites such as Castle Howard, within easy reach of the North Yorkshire Moors but at the same time situated in a very peaceful location. Lots of space in all of the rooms. Of particular note is the stylish bathroom and extremely comfortable bed. A lovely welcome pack awaits you when you arrive. I can thoroughly recommend this cottage.
From the Owner
“We bought our house because we love old properties and it had such an enormous walled garden and an orchard. The pig sty in the orchard has been restored and we occasionally have a piglet or two happily munching the fallen apples. The garden is also big enough to let our chickens range freely.”

“I wish I could live in any of my cottages for some peace and quiet and away from the whirlwind of three children and their mess! The bathrooms are all fabulous and I really like the wood burners. They make it really cosy all through Winter. Our locations is very peaceful and yet really well located for York. You can drive into York and be in the centre in 10 minutes. Or you can catch a bus or even use the Park and Ride which is a very short drive away. We have been letting Darcy's Cottage for six years now and all our guests have left wonderful messages saying how much they have enjoyed their stay. Quite a few have returned for three or more visits! And a few have taken their romances to marriage!”
