About Adrian and Rosemary Fowler

We are both fun loving people, and enjoy travelling to various countries, throughout the world. When working in England my husband was working as an engineer, and I held the position of a retail manager,we both enjoyed our jobs immensely, but not the stress. My husband enjoys fishing ,walking, and DIY, and I enjoy a good book, and a good drama, also socializing with friends which we have made since living in France. we have seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. The property is new to the market for 2013.

Adrian and Rosemary Fowler purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Adrian and Rosemary Fowler chose Monthault

We bought the property which is a 300 year old stone farmhouse to retire, in a beautiful location.

There are many places to visit, places to cycle and walk, good shops, markets and restaurants.

The house is in a little village with access to all areas and beaches.30 min from mont st Michel.

What makes this cottage unique

The benefits we enjoy is the peaceful surrounding countryside, we are in a small hamlet consisting of 3 houses, there is a shop/bar/restaurant and a 12th century church.

We have a lovely nature walk from the village.

Charming gite with outstanding outside space.

  • 5 of 5

Honeysuckle cottage is a charming gite which has been renovated to a high standard and comes with all you need for your stay. The outside space and gardens are outstanding. Lots of places to visit locally but if you get the weather the garden and pool will make for a perfect day at the cottage. Rosemary and Ian were very friendly and helpful during our stay. Would recommend!

Lovely, peaceful and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This was a lovely end to our French holiday, a delightful gite owned by Ian and Rosemary. Very pretty, clean and well appointed with a lovely garden. Ian and Rosemary were very welcoming and kind, nothing was too much trouble. Our five year old grandson said "I love , love this jeep (gite)! We could not get our grand children out of the pool, they did not want to leave, neither did we. This is a perfect place to stay to explore the gems of Brittany. Thanks to Ian and Rosemary for making our stay so enjoyable.

Wonderful place, brilliant people

  • 5 of 5

Two weeks holiday this time. The second visit to this unspoilt area of Northern France. The farmhouse caters completely for any holiday makers needs, even more so now, with the addition of a decent sized swimming pool, which was perfect for the ridiculously hot weather we had. Ian and Rosemary were wonderfully accommodating as usual and made us feel totally welcome and at home, which is a very rare thing nowadays. Again, they were extremely helpful with various aspects of our trip and could not have been nicer to us. We liked it so much we are heading back to their place at the end of next month. Once again, I can totally recommend this accommodation. It is ideally situated, spotlessly clean, comfortable and relaxing and set in a beautiful setting with stunning views (especially from the pool). Thanks Ian and Rosemary for a brilliant holiday

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!

  • 5 of 5

Ian and Rosemary have a very lovely place set in idyllic countryside, surrounded by stunning scenery and wildlife. The cottage was very well presented, extremely clean and well equipped for a self catering holiday. Nothing was too much trouble. Ian and Rosemary were very helpful, especially after my mum injured herself, providing a hot water bottle and medication. They were also very knowledgeable about where to go and what to see and had lots of brochures on hand for us to check out. The cottage is a good size and has obviously been lovingly restored to a high standard, offering future holiday makers an excellent base for visiting this area of Brittany. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to friends and family and to anyone else wishing to stay in a pretty, rural and lovely setting such as theirs. I'm already planning our next trip! We had a lovely holiday in a beautiful cottage and we will definitely be going again. You should be very proud, Ian and Rosemary, you have a stunning place. Thank you for all your help and advice.

All round GREAT

  • 5 of 5

We stayed one week, travelled by EuroShuttle to Calais then drove down. France is big and it took us 5 hours so advice would be to use ferry to somewhere nearer. The gite was lovely and our host most welcoming leaving us milk, bread, coffee tea bags and WINE, only be two of us we spread out in two bedroom both large with a further bedroom across the hall. It was spotless and every thing you may need was there, even English TV with Freeview. We went everywhere by car all the usual St Malo, Normandy Beaches, Mont St Michael. A tip for this is as you approach the car park there is a roadside stall selling cider and some nice windmills plus wine cheese etc. call in have your coffee here maybe buy some wine or cider for the evening and the lady lets you park for the day it saves 12 euro parking charge and is only an extra 50 yards walk to the free shuttle buses and coffee on the Mont is 5 euro. The Normandy beaches are a must see as is the Tapestry which was amazing. On one night Ian and Rose came over with some fresh raspberries and cream. We eat in every night which was nice and cosy. I cannot recommend this highly enough we had a great week very relaxing visiting an old friend who lives over in France. If stay in this area again would without fail book the cottage again

Owner's Response: We are very pleased Alan and Veronica enjoyed their stay in our cottage, and we thank them for their review, and helpful information, especially about the parking fee at Le Mont, the price has gone up 4 euro since last Summer, as we ourselves have not been there this year, we appreciate this input as we can then pass the information onto future guests. We have really enjoyed our first year renting the cottage, and all our guests have been really lovely, we look forward to 2014 and welcoming more guests to Brittany.

Wonderful Stay!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this property. Rosemary and Ian were wonderfully helpful and hospitable at all times and literally could not do enough to help. They were very knowledgable in great places to visit which helped the holiday be even more enjoyable. The gite was wonderfully clean and very well equipped and there was so much room outside for our 3 children to run around and play games and for us just to relax and read. I would recommend this property to both families and couples alike. Our family can not wait to return!! Thank you both for a lovely holiday.
