Apartment in Kalkan, Turkey -Set In One Of The Most Beautiful Exclusive Resorts in Turkey

Beyhan Apartment E6 is part of a stylish complex previously used by Tapestry Holidays and is in a peaceful yet convenient location. All the facilities of Kalkan are within a 10-15 minute stroll. Kalkan is a picturesque old Greek fishing village that has developed gracefully over the years, retaining its old charm. During the day, the centre of Kalkan is fairly quiet as people choose to visit the excellent local beaches and places of interest. There is a small beach in Kalkan and many Beach Clubs who offer free transfers. The nearby Patara Beach (20 minutes) voted within the Sunday Times top ten beaches in the world and Kaputas Beach (20 minutes) is one of the most photographed beaches in Turkey. Although Kalkan town has much to offer at night there are nice bars, restaurants and exclusive hotels within a couple of minutes' stroll of the apartment. There are good facilities for self catering/barbecues and excellent butchers and fresh fish stalls in town and a mini market opposite.

About Amanda Cankaya

We have been holidaying in Kalkan since 2000 and know the town and surrounding area very well. We visit Turkey at least twice a year and whilst it is nice to try new places, have never found anywhere as nice as Kalkan.

Why Amanda Cankaya chose Kalkan

We were lucky to be in the right place at the right time when the apartment was for sale. They had previously been let out as a block of six apartments and four villas to Tapestry Holidays, a luxury travel company specialising in "hidden Turkey".

Kalkan is a very unique place and has a very authentic feel and having originally been a Greek settlement, this is obvious from the architecture and cobbled streets. The town is not over developed and has a very cosmopolitan feel. It is also very nice to see that the shopkeepers, taxi drivers and locals are the same people we met back in 2000. It is not a typical tourist resort which changes faces every year.

What makes this apartment unique

The property has been let out since 2006 and we have many repeat bookings (unfortunately lost all reviews when moved advert to Owners Direct). The main thing our guests and ourselves love is the spectacular views which never fail to blow me away! It is great to be in a peaceful and smart part of town, far enough away from the hustle and bustle in the day and only a 10 minute stroll down to town in the evening. Having a mini market directly opposite is a real bonus as it stocks absolutely everything you could need. The newly opened bistro/lounge area in the apartment entrance is very serene and stylish and a real addition. Kalamar Road has also developed over the years and now has a number of nice bars and restaurants very close by.

  • Description of sleeping capacity: Sleeps 3 (1 Bedroom) Notes on bedrooms: The double bedroom has a very peaceful atmosphere with two windows, one overlooking the roof terrace. There is a wardrobe (containing a safe) drawers and air conditioning unit. The sofabed is located within the living area and is large and comfortable and can sleep two children comfortably.

Notes on accommodation: There is an on site English speaking Apartment Manager. Outside: The six apartments and three private villas are part of an attractive complex set within well tended and attractive gardens with a very stylish lounge/bar located at the entrance. The private freshwater pool (shared with five other apartments) is very private and quiet and at the rear of the property. Sunbeds with mattresses and parasols are provided around the pool. Please note there is no children's section to the pool. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linen included - please bring beach towels! Other: The main feature (highlighted by many previous guests) is the large private roof terrace with stunning views over Kalkan harbour. There is a table & chairs, parasol, barbecue & food prep area and sun loungers and the terrace is totally secluded.

Lovely apartment with a stunning roof terrace

We had a lovely holiday here, really close proximity to town but also lovely bars and restaurants near to the apartment especially porcinis which was just at the front of our accomodation. Amanda ,the owner is so organised and sorted everything out for us very efficiently.The apartment has a very turkish feel to it but we spent most of our time out on the roof terrace with stunning views ! Such a little gem .

Super comfortable holiday base

This little apartment has everything you want as a holiday base.

Accommodation : This apartment is very clean; plenty big enough for two people; kitchen is well equipped with cutlery, glassware and flatware, saucepans etc; comfortable bed; good shower; air con in the bedroom; a fan in the living area that keeps the room cool; use of a super pool with enough comfortable sun loungers, full sun and shade available; if the bedroom door is closed, a smell builds up in there; furniture on the roof terrace is perfect for eating at the table, but not so good to relax in for a couple of hours; there was no housekeeping in the two weeks we visited, but there are enough spare towels and sheets to do it yourself; there is a full size dishwasher in the kitchen, I would have preferred to have a grill and oven.

Position : fantastic view from the very private terrace over the bay, in the shade in the evening but we were happy with that; a choice of restaurants and general shops on your doorstep; 15 minute walk downhill to town, plenty of cheap taxis available if you don't want the uphill walk back.

From first contact with Amanda the owner, she couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.

If we visited Kalkan again, this apartment would be on our shortlist.

The Turquoise Coast is without doubt the most stunning coastline in Turkey and two of the most stunning beaches in Turkey are within 20 minutes of the apartment. Kalkan has a small beautiful beach in the town and there are many beach clubs in Kalkan (bathing platforms by the coast) but the nearby sandy beaches of Kaputas (15 mins) or Patara (20 minutes) should not be missed. There are frequent shuttle buses to both of these beaches. The nearby town of Kas, with its new marina is also lovely.


The nearest airport to Kalkan is Dalaman (1.45 hours) or Antalya airport is 2.45 hours away. Although car hire would be useful, it is not essential due to the excellent local transport links. Airport transfers can be booked or a private transfer can be arranged. When booking, you will be given advice to assist you in finding the most convenient and economic flights possible.


Kalkan is very well located to reach many places of interest and benefits from great transport links with local shuttle buses and the excellent national bus links across the whole country. There are many good tour operators in Kalkan, although ABI is recommended, who can arrange trips to many places including Kekova Sunken City, Saklikent Gorge, Jeep Safaris etc. General Distances: Dalaman - 1.45 hrs, Fethiye -1 hr, Kas - 30 mins,

Kaputas Beach - 15 mins, Patara Beach - 20 mins.
