About the property

House in Bouzigues, nr. Montpellier, Herault, Languedoc-Roussillon, France - Our home is less than 2 minutes from the wonderful restaurants situated on the seafront of Bouzigues

If you would like to experience France and the French lifestyle in a beautiful home with beautiful surroundings then this is the place for you. You won't get more french than the idyllic, picturesque road we live in! There is plenty of parking next to our home or minutes away. Our home has all the creature comforts of modern living you could wish for yet has maintained the charm and character of an historic French village home. The pretty bedrooms are decorated with beautiful wallpaper, delightful furnishings and matching bed linen. The bathrooms in particular are specified to a high standard with larger than average showers and a strong shower spray with plenty of hot water. The kitchen is very well equipped as I adore cooking and has everything you could ask for. All the rooms in our home are decorated with minute attention to detail and offer a pleasurable and relaxing stay. There is wifi internet access throughout the house. Electric fans are throughout the house.

About debbie riehl

We are a professional couple who adore France and Bouzigues in particular. Nothing gives us greater pleasure than spending as much time as possible in Bouzigues. The moment we visited Bouzigues, we fell in love with it and its surrounding area and have spent 4 years lovingly decorating and furnishing our home to a high and comfortable standard. We love our home and would like clients to enjoy their stay and treat it with respect. We have many creature comforts in the house all of which are available for use. The local people are very friendly and are only too willing to pass the time of day or willing to help out in any way if needed.

debbie riehl purchased this house in 2009

Why debbie riehl chose Cap d'Agde area

Our house is in the historic part of the village, in the heart of this unspoilt French fishing village yet a minute’s walk to the picturesque seafront where there is a charming port, 2 sandy beaches and many restaurants.

Our house is also just 20 seconds away from the boulangerie which bakes from fresh twice as day which means freshly made bread and pastries every morning and evening! The boulangerie is renowned for its fabulous bread and pastries.

There is also a grocery store around the corner from our house, again just 20 seconds away. Next to the grocery store there is an ice-cream parlour which has won national awards for its fantastic ice-creams and innovative flavours.

There is also a scenic 10 mile cycle path where you can often cycle pass flocks of flamingos!

What makes this house unique

The area of Bouzigues and its surrounds is absolutely beautiful with many sandy beaches in this special and up-spoilt part of the Mediterranean.

There are also many charming ports, numerous daily markets selling fab food, clothes and household items, many art galleries, local vineyards, shops, historical sites to visit, cultural events and much more.

The bigger towns of Meze, Agde, Pezenas, Sete and Montpellier are between 10-30 minutes away.

Montpellier in particular, is a university town with an international airport and is only 25 minutes away and has many attractions including a Michelin restaurant.

Provence, the Camargue and the Pyrenees are 1-2 hours away. Spain is just 3 hours away!

Quaint house in a charming village

  • 5 of 5

Spent one wonderful relaxing week at this property, which is centrally located in the village, meaning everything is within walking distance. The house has been beautifully restored and has a lovely relaxing ambience about it and the layout worked perfectly for us as a family. Mornings were spent in the first floor sitting room reading (large french windows open, listening to the village waking up) drinking coffee and eating freshly baked pain au chocolat from the bakery a few doors away, whilst waiting for our teenage children to surface from their second floor bedroom. Most days, we would then drive an hour (due to weight of traffic as much as distance) to the most fantastic sandy beach (l'espigutte) with a cool box of provisions and sun brolly, where even in the height of the summer holidays there was more than ample room to kick a football around. Evenings were either spent cooking at home or visiting one of the clutch of waterside restaurants in the village. Both were followed by a stroll around the village via the superb ice-cream shop. Also worth a visit are the oyster farm shops "shacks" a short walk out of the village where we ate a plateau of oysters and drank local wine sat on a wooden bench with a surf board for a table whilst looking out over the etang. Perfect.

There are lots of interesting places to visit locally too - Sete and Aigues Mortes were favourites with us.

An added bonus also was that the nearest supermarket is huge and only a short drive away too.

Only negative that comes to mind is that we only stayed for one week not two.

All in all a wonderful place to stay. I would definitely recommend the property to friends and family and hope that one day we will return to this house and be able to explore the area further.

Owner's Response: Thank you for such a wonderful response! We're SO glad you enjoyed your stay at our home, it means a lot to us. The whole area is such a special place. We haven't tried L'espigutte beach so we've learnt something new! We wondered if you tried the stretch of beaches at Sete which are truly wonderful and about 20 Minutes away? There are some fab restaurants there too that supply sunloungers. Thanks again for such a great review and for taking the time to write it.

This place is real gem that ticks all the boxes. It's in the perfect location a couple of minutes to the beach, harbour and seafood restaurants. It is beautifully decorated, peaceful and relaxing. We loved our holiday here and would whole heartedly recommend it to anyone who wants to relax and unwind.

Beautiful cottage close to restaurants beach

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cottage tastefully furnished with well equipped kitchen for those who like to cook. Bakery over the road serving fresh croissants for breakfast. Two minutes walk from the fishing harbour for restaurants, A short drive further along the harbour road there is a lovely long sandy beach. Ideal base for car touring. Lots of wineries in the area. Lovely drive to the Canal di midi for a boat ride down the canal to see the bulls and Camargue horses. We thoroughly enjoyed touring the area. The property was clean and beautifully presented. We would definitely stop here again.

Delightful place to stay

  • 4 of 5

A lovely three story house in the old part of the village. Bouzigues is an unspoilt village on the south coast of France. The house is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. We didn't have to go far for necessary provisions or for somewhere to eat out. There are an abundance of seafood restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the property. The agent Pascale was extremely helpful and we were very glad to have her on hand. An ideal place to explore the rest of the area and soak up true French culture.
