Lovely, cosy, comfortable cottage. Full of old world charm and character. Highly recommend a stay.

  • 5 of 5

Great place to stay. Quiet and relaxed cottage. Shared enclosed garden safe and excellent for kids to run around in. Lots of things to do in area for whole family. Beaches absolutely fantastic. Local shops and restaurants as well as supermarket nearby. Owner very friendly, attentive and accommodating (leaving time flexible to suit us was very much appreciated). Kids loved cottage so much they did not want to leave (said goodby to all the rooms and kissed cottage on way out the door - "it's our cottage now". We hope to return on another holiday to visit all the exciting places we missed this time around. Recommend two week stay rather than just one.

Charming cottage in a beautiful area, great for de-stressing

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is full of character and has large rooms. We particularly loved the kitchen with its original and therefore uneven flooring, salt cellar, fireplace and bread oven. The kitchen is fully fitted with modern equipment however. There are narrow winding stairs from the kitchen up to the two large bedrooms and bathroom. No shower, however it was lovely to soak in the bath which was quite a novelty! We were lucky and had excellent weather all week, so it was lovely to sit outside in the sun enjoying the tranquility and listening to the birds singing. Although the cottage is on the road through to Walsingham there is very little traffic and this did not detract from the lovely peace and quiet. Off road parking is available at the rear of the cottage where there are another two cottages set in a courtyard type setting. Great Snoring is close enough to anywhere you want to go to in North Norfolk but we also had a day at RSPB Minsmere which took around one and a half hours to get to. This has been one of the most relaxing and de-stressing places we have ever stayed and shall definitely be returning when we next visit Norfolk.

Cherry tree cottage Little Snoring Norfolk

  • 4 of 5

Cottage is quaint and old fashioned but very comfortable. Heating very good and beds comfortable. If you can manage without a shower and do not mind washing your hair with a jug of water then you will be happy here. The only thing I could recommend is a welcome pint of milk as after a long journey we couldn't get a cup of tea without first visiting a supermarket! The cottage is situated in a lovely peaceful area and we had the best weather which enhanced our stay.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your nice words, we do have 2 other cottages that have shower attachments so it's a shame you didn't stay in one of those - perhaps next time!! It was nice to meet you both and I'm glad you had a good week! Gilly

Beautifully maintained cottages with pretty gardens

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage, very comfortable, clearly loved by its owner and well maintained. Spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, Dogs very welcome, but there is not a hint of it, no doggy whiffs. Pretty gardens. Each cottage has its own enclosed garden, essential for dogs.

Close to the beaches but away from the main routes. Will definitely return.

The owner lives not far away, and met us herself. A lovely change from doing everything through a local agent.

We have some fantastic beaches on the north Norfolk coast - The most amazing beach is just 6 miles away at Holkham (apparently it's the Queen's favourite beach) where you can have a family day out or walk your dog.

Wells beach is also quite beautiful - colourful beach huts line the pine woods and when the tide is out there is a huge expanse of sand and shallow pools when the tide is in.

Brancaster beach is also quite stunning!

Most of our beaches allow dogs even in the summer months.

Nearest airport is Norwich - 25 miles away.

Train stations at Norwich and Kings Lynn - 25 miles away and at Sheringham - about 14 miles away.

A car really is recommended - or a bike but be warned, this part of Norfolk is not quite as flat as you might think!!

Walsingham is the next village on from Great Snoring, just 2 miles away, they have plenty of shops and eateries! There are a couple of pubs, a great fish and chip shop & restaurant, a fantastic Farm Shop and a very tasty chocolate Deli!!

Fakenham is our nearest town, 4 miles away, they have a weekly market, pubs, restaurants, take-a-ways, cinema and even a racecourse!

Holt is just 10 miles away with lots of interesting shops and places to eat.

Burnham Market, Cley & Blakeney within 12 miles.

Further Details:

Fakenham has two large supermarkets, Tesco and Morrisons. There are also many banks, chemists, a couple of clothes shops and some gift shops. Plenty of cafe's and bars, weekly market selling a range of goods from antiques to junk, fruit & veg to clothes and shoes. There is also a weekly auction too - worth a visit just to watch!!

Holt is the second nearest town to Great Snoring and is definitely worth a trip - lots of lovely independent shops, many galleries and antique shops, a department store that boasts it's Food Hall is as good as Harrods! Also a number of great pubs, cafe's and restaurants.

The coastal towns and villages along the coast road such as Stiffkey, Blakeney, Cley, Morston, Wiverton, Thornham, Brancaster and The Burnhams offer seal trips, fresh mussels, Cromer Crab and really great pubs!
