Cottage in Jevington, Nr. Eastbourne, Sussex, England - A Very Peaceful Setting On The South Downs Way Just 4 Miles From Birling Gap Beach

The Old Coach House sleeps just four in great comfort in a quiet corner of Jevington, one of the most unspoilt Downland villages. Situated between Eastbourne and Brighton and about 4 miles from the magnificent beach at Birling Gap this truly charming house has just been totally renovated. It sits right on the South Downs Way and offers fabulous walking, riding and cycling. Jevington itself lies at the head of a glorious, sweeping valley and is distinguished by having a fine Saxon church and an award winning pub just 150 yards form the house. The Old Coach House has just been completely renovated with antiques and original paintings and full central heating. There is a well equipped Kitchen including dishwasher and washing machine and an attractive dining area. For entertainment there is a new TV and unlimited Broadband. The master bedroom has a sumptuous new double bed with an ensuite bathroom. Downstairs there is a twin bedroom with a shower room and toilet across the hall. There is a walled garden with seats and a table.

About Chesters Holiday Cottages

Sue and Nigel Mackenzie started the Hungry Monk Restaurant in Jevington in 1968. Garden Cottage is where they lived for their first year. The restaurant went on to become one of the most famous places to eat in England and is the birthplace of Banoffi Pie. Sue is now a successful painter and Nigel is a sculptor.

Why Chesters Holiday Cottages chose Wealden

We bought Garden Cottage in 1967 - it was love at first sight - we were just thrilled at its mellow brickwork and how incredibly beautiful this whole part of Sussex is. Garden Cottage is the oldest building in Jevingon and dates back to before the great fire of London. It is two miles from the A22 and two and a half miles from a main line railway station at Polegate.

2013 is the first year we have let it as a holiday cottage

What makes this cottage unique

Garden Cottage would be an ideal place for a very romantic honeymoon. We often think it would also be the perfect place to write a book. It has only two rooms so life is simple but they are very sunny and surprisingly spacious. Two wonderfully comfortable arm chairs, lots of great books and a stack of CDs and DVDs means that no visitor is ever bored. There is just so much to do apart from swimming and walking - lots of fabulous pubs, endless historic houses and castles and amazing shops in Brighton and Lewes.

Deposit of £200 per week with balance payable 6 weeks before start of the holiday. Please consult Chesters on cancellation charges etc.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is normally Saturday but this can be flexible depending on other bookings.

Notes on prices:
Chesters will advise on prices for long and short stays out of season.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
