The house is built of nature stone,in the traditional style of the island with a beautiful garden in a peaceful area of Sóller. It is recently constructed with a bedroom, a bathroom, an ample kitchen, and a big living room with a big reclining sofa. The outstanding feature of the house is the garden with lawn and diverse trees, such as palms, olive trees, pear trees, a pomegranate, willow and a variety of plants. It has a big parking space, shared with neighbours to one side. The house is very well located, nearby the centre of the town, with its lively square, church, restaurants, shops, banks, etc.
We are a young couple who loves this house, and we want to share it with other people. We think that it is in a great location, and we want to allow travellers to enjoy it when we are not living on it.
Our house is very recent constructed, it has only five years, so most of the things are new.
It is very well located, in a very calm place, but very near to the centre of the town. You only have to walk five minutes to reach the centre, where you can find lots of shops, restaurants, bars, banks, etc.
The garden is one of the values of the house, because you will have a very beautiful place to have breakfast in the morning, and have dinner at night, or enjoy the beauty of the trees and plants we have.
You don´t need a car to stay at our home, because in the centre you will have the train station, the railway stop and the taxi´s stop, but if you want it, you will have a free parking at home, which you only have to share with the neighbours.
You will have very good views, and enjoy the comfort of a new house; electrical appliance, big TV, some books...
The cottage is fabulous. It’s very well equipped and we had all we needed. Everything worked well and there were no problems, which meant we could spend the whole time enjoying ourselves. There were two of us and we found it spacious yet cosy and had plenty of room for storage. The bed and sofa were very comfortable and we really felt at home.
The location is ideal, and there was plenty of room for parking. The cottage is less than 5 minutes’ walk from the main shopping street and an easy walk to the main square but as it is tucked away down a small lane, surrounded by citrus groves and mountains, it gives the feel of being in a rural setting. We took advantage of the views from the upper terrace at breakfast time, which has some shade in the early morning. The lower terrace is a good size and well designed with lovely stone work, tables and plenty of seating options. The trailing vines generously shade the terrace, which made it a perfect place for relaxing or eating outside during the days and evenings, overlooking the pretty garden. We were also welcomed on our first day by a small, sweet, friendly cat who kept us company most of the week. Our experience in this lovely cottage enhanced our wonderful holiday and we were sad to leave, but can’t wait to return!
We holidayed in Soller in April, our first visit to this part of the island. Our main purpose was to escape the extended winter in NW England and enjoy some long walks in decent weather. The area is wonderful walking country and very varied, with challenging mountains and coastal paths within easy reach of the property.
On other fronts, we had a doubly enjoyable holiday, as the town of Soller is so attractive, busy and full of interest, with seemingly endless cafes and restaurants and appealing boutique shops along the intimate Carrer de sa Lluna.
As with the other reviewers, we had a lot to thank the owner, Marina, for; from her help with the booking, to picking us up on our arrival, and giving us some great advice about local restaurants and bars. Top of the list for us was the Restaurant Es Vergeret at Cala Tuent, a beautiful and very welcome interlude between the highly scenic trek from Soller and subsequent boat trip return to the port.
The house itself was perfect for our needs, with a wide range of equipment and so handy for the local shops and the town centre itself.
Our only slight regret might be that, having been out in the countryside almost all day, every day, we didn't perhaps enjoy the garden as much as we might. Having said that, we hope to have the opportunity to visit again before too long and put this right.
I have just returned from a holiday at Marina's cottage in Soller and had a wonderful stay there, I thought I would write a review as it is so hard to choose between properties just looking at pictures. The cottage is very close to the main shopping street of c. luna in soller and it takes about 3 mins to walk there and 4 minutes to the main square. The pictures do not do the cottage justice! It has a lovely tiled floor in the sitting room, large sofa with reclining ajustments. The tv has english settings and multiple channels. There is also a log burner fire and numerous maps\guide books. The kitchen is really well equipped fridge and freezer, great oven and dishwasher, kettle, toaster etc. The bedroom has good sized wardrobes too. There is a little laundry hut in the garden with dryer and washing machine with drying space under cover too. Marina was kind enough to supply me with a bike which allowed me to whizz to the supermarket and round soller. Parking is off road and private so very convenient. The patio area and upper sun lounge area has great views of the mountain and gets the sun all day! What a lovely cottage!
The house is situated completely secluded from traffic and noise between lemon and orange groves. It’s a five minutes’ walk to Calle Luna and 10-15 minutes to the main square if you go by the river, so the location is marvelous. The house itself is beautiful, cosy and well planned in Majorcan style. One of the best things is the green garden with sun almost all day. The garden is not huge, but there are 15-20 different trees and two big palms, and a visiting, friendly cat. In the summertime the terrace is covered with a roof of green leaves, which gives shelter from the sun. The whole valley is a place to explore. My mother could borrow a bicycle from the house and she had no problem with the traffic, even if the roads were narrow. It’s easy to enjoy the nature and the town from here. And the beautiful Tramuntana mountains protect the valley and house from strong winds. Marina was also very kind and helpful. My parents enjoyed Soller and the house so much that they surely will be back!
Everything about the accommodation met our expectations. After we arrived, Marina, the owner, was very solicitous and responded promptly to our few enquiries. The accommodation is very well positioned relative to the town being just five minutes walk and yet in a secluded quiet area with its own private car parking.
We loved the truly delightful setting of the town of Soller in a broad fertile valley among the mountains. The seaside town, Port Soller, just a three miles or so away, is reached by the very popular quaint tram which rattles its way between the two towns. The central square with its many restaurants is an extremely pleasant way to relax over morning coffee. We were struck too by the friendliness of everybody in the shops and restaurants-the quality of the wide variety of shops would put the shops in most English towns to shame. Soller has a museum of 20th Century abstract art and two fine gardens one of which has a natural history museum.
Equally impressive were the drives through the mountains to Deia and to Lluc passing through the very pretty world heritage village of Fontalutx.
We could certainly recommend Soller and where we stayed.
