La Maison Neuve is situated in spectacular scenery in the Petit Luberon. Built as a 'tower' the hose sits very well into the slope of the hill which runs from the foot of the mountains down to the Durance Valley. The house has been arranged for either one large family plus guests or two families.

Beautiful villa, gorgeous pool.. A really relaxing holiday.

The villa is gorgeous and felt like a home from home. The views from the terrace are stunning and the pool is beautiful - the sun shines all day. The garden is huge and very private. A good location for visiting the Luberon and only 40 minutes from the airport at Marseilles. The pictures don't do the villa justice, it's beautiful.

Coast/Beach:

There are beaches near Marseille but our favourite is about 1 and a quarter hour drive at Cassis which is on the road to St. Tropez. Alternatively St. Marie de la Mer at the bottom of the Camargue is about 50 mins away.

Travel:

We fly to Marseille airport which is now served by British Airways, Easyjet, Air France and Ryanair and the house is a 45 minute drive from Marignane. You can also fly with Ryanair to Nimes which is about an hour and a quarter from the house. Avignon airport which is now served by Flybe is 30 mins. The TGV station is at Avignon (40 mins).

Distances:

Merindol our local village is a 5 min drive (my husband walks); Mallemort which has all of the supermarkets, fish shop, wine shop etc. is 6 min drive; Aix en Provence is a 45 minute drive and Avignon 40 mins. The luberon has some of the most beautiful hill villages in France and we have a wealth of markets, abbeys, chateaux. Lots and lots to see.

  • Notes on accommodation: The entrance to the house is at mid-level which has all of the living accommodation - open plan sitting/dining/kitchen plus a cloakroom/WC. There is a large terrace and a covered eating area with table and chairs. We eat out here the whole of the summer. At first floor level there is the master bedroom(king-size bed) and a small double bedroom (5 ft bed) - both bedrooms share a small terrace and a newly refurbished bathroom (shower). The garden level which is below the living floor has 3 bedrooms - one king-size bed and two twin-beds, a newly refurbished bathroom (shower). There is a small hallway leading out to the garden and a utility room with washing machine. Outside: The terrace at the garden level leads to the swimming pool which is 15m x 7m and is built in the 'bassin' style . The garden is planted with indigenous plants and is automatically watered during the night. The garage has a wealth of inflatables for the pool and there is a table tennis table and a child's swing in the garden. Utility Room: Washing Machine (drying rails to put outside plus washing lines in garden) Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels, Swimming Towels & Linen included. Other: Outside Eating area with 10 person table and 10 chairs. 4 Sun loungers at house & 6 at pool
