Les Chenes a delightful retreat

  • 5 of 5

Les Chenes is a delightful property in a beautiful setting. On arrival we were met by Brian and Joan and were shown around the property and had everything explained to us. The property was in a first class condition, exceptionally well equiped and spotlessly clean.

The living area upstairs is architecturally beautiful and spacious with an outside veranda for dining and a barbecue it is just like living amongst the trees.

The pool area and patio area were neat and tidy well furnished peaceful, calm and relaxing quite a sun trap too.

Throughout our stay we received every courtesy from Brian who is a warm and friendly person.

Although the approach to the property at first seemed a little daunting we soon got used to it and it was not a problem for us.

Sightseeing is relatively easy as you are not too far from the motorway network and the country side is stunning.

A very pleasant stay indeed, we definitely intend a return visit in the not too distant future.

Stunning property and location

  • 5 of 5

Light and airy property in scenic location, excellent value and lovely hosts. Good motorway access so easy to get to beaches, gorges and mountains. Well placed for visiting Montpelier and Beziers therefore ideal for a long stay as plenty to see and do. A walkers paradise. We also visited Barcelona and the Cote D'Azur from here. Recommended!

Extremely pleasant hosts and beautiful nature!

  • 5 of 5

Me and my husband, both in our mid-thirties, booked Les Chenes for a 6 months winter rental, curious to see how it would feel to live on the country side of beautiful south of france for a while. We moved in in october, not knowing so much what to expect, a bit afraid of living so far from the urban lifestyle we knew...!

To our surprise, our 6 months were spent wandering in amazement at all the beauty that was offered to us around Les Chenes -- we enjoyed every single day here: the comfort, the calmness, the intimacy, the beautiful nature around us, living in a beautiful house with extremely pleasant hosts, Brian and Joan, who really managed to make us feel home and much welcomed at all times. Now that we move on to our next adventure, they will be missed!

Our best of:

- the magical walking path to aubaygue

- the beautiful fire place

- film 4 movie channel

- high speed internet

- a wonderful and well equipped cooking space

- the host's heated swimming pool in april

- discovering old ruins in the woods

- feeling at home away from home...

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to live in such a beautiful place Brian & Joan!

Wonerful week's stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a week at Les Chenes and wish it could have been a fortnight. This is a wonderful house in a beautiful location. Quiet, secluded and peaceful. The owners have taken care of every detail with great love and attention and were friendly, welcoming and discrete. We look forward to visiting again.

Sunshine on the breakfast terrace

  • 5 of 5

We have lived in France for 6 years but needed a long term rental in the South in order to explore the area, as we want to move there eventually. We have been extremely lucky to find Les Chênes, which is every bit as good as it is advertised and more! The house is spacious, very light and extremely comfortable; very well furnished and equipped for our 6 month stay over the autumn/winter period. The wood burning stove provides a lovely focal point in the living area and warms the whole house; we have hardly used the electric central heating system at all.

The setting in a forest clearing on the domaine is beautiful with the autumn colours, quiet and peaceful. We have already explored some of the many picturesque towns, villages and coastal resorts. The scenery is spectacular and there are superb forest walks. Restaurants cater for many different cuisines and are more varied than where we live nearer the centre of France. Even though this is out of season, the markets and towns are colourful and lively.

Brian and Joan, the proprietors have been extremely helpful. They not only have excellent knowledge of the area, of course, but are also totally familiar with French culture, which we have found most useful.

We stayed at Primelle Chenes in August 2009, we decided to rent the two apartments as one, giving us sole access to the swimming pool. We were blown away by the house it was clean and very comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen and the added bonus of a television with CBBC! The views from the balcony were idyllic, looking out onto the pine forests. Brian and Joan the owners had their house within the grounds of the property and have been fantastic to deal with. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to have a peaceful break.
