Spacious Well Furnished Cottage In North Creake,Off Road Parking and Free wi fi

Updated: 08-Dec-2016
Near Burnham Market. Short Drive From Award Winning Beaches At Holkham, Brancaster and Wells. Child and Pet Friendly. Great Quality Beds and Linen.

Millstone is a terraced brick and flint cottage and furnished with comfortable modern furniture. It is very well equipped with everything you could need including free wi fi and great quality beds and linen. There are 2 good sized bedrooms with one kingsize bed and a twin room. There is also a 'spare room' that can be used to store all of your suitcases. The bathroom is upstairs and has a shower over the bath.

The living room has an open fire in the winter and is spacious enough for everyone to have a comfy seat. The dining table easily sits six and the french doors open onto the lovely south facing patio where you can barbeque in the summer. The garden is large and enclosed and is both child and dog friendly. The garden also gives you access to the car park and garage which is also a great place to store bikes or beach equipment. The cottage is superbly located for access to all the stunning Norfolk Coast has to offer. The Jolly Farmer pub is nearby, serving great food and real ale, and Creake Abbey Cafe and Food Hall is a 15-minute walk across the fields or a 2 minute drive in the car. Creake Abbey also has a range of small craft, clothes and gift shops and a well attended Farmers Market on the first Saturday of every month. Burnham Market and Holkham Hall have great places to eat and drink such as the famous Hoste Arms. North Norfolk is a birdwatchers' and nature lovers' paradise. RSPB Titchwell, Pensthorpe, Cley Marshes and Sculthorpe Nature reserve are all within easy driving distance. If you like walking or cycling there are scenic routes straight out of the front door.

Guests often comment on the cleanliness of the property and the quality of the beds. We pride ourselves on making the cottage as comfortable and clean as we can and hold ourselves to the high standards we expect when we rent a holiday cottage.

About the Owner

We are a busy professional couple who love to spend time in our much loved cottage whenever we can. High standards of comfort and cleanliness are important to us and we like to provide the same levels of care for our guests.

We love to be able to walk out of the door and go for amazing walks often involving a stop at one of the many great pubs and cafes in the 'Burnhams' and the surrounding area. Wonderful birds and wildlife are regularly spotted and admired.

The cottage was purchased as a retreat for us. It has surpassed all our expectations.

We love this cottage! This was our second visit to Millstone and we enjoyed it even more. The cottage is spotlessly clean, modern and very well equipped. All the fixtures and fittings are top quality and the beds are incredibly comfortable (and we are very fussy!). It is a lovely retreat to come back to after a busy day exploring the area.

The local area is beautiful; all the best beaches are a matter of minutes away by car, and there are plenty of good eating places too. A very family friendly and dog friendly place to visit. This cottage comes highly recommended by our whole family.

Beautiful House

  • 5 of 5

An absolute gem!

Gillian steered us through the pre-rental with real care and attention.

The house is easily located in a small village, with easy access to Burnham market, Wells, Holkham and the coast.

The house (with off-street parking) is fantastically appointed and stocked with furnishings and equipment that you'd be pleased to have in your own home.

The fireplace was laid, with a waiting bucket of coal and logs - the heating systems were super-efficient and the beds and bathroom were a delight - everyone commented on the quality of the beds, sheets and towels. Plenty of space for 4 - and a spare room which we used as a luggage/dressing room. The kitchen has everything you could want - fridge, freezer, washing machine... the garden looks great for the summer time. Freeview suited us and the wifi was brilliant.

The location, though, was the best - pub 50 yards away - the sea within 6 minutes.

Highly recommended ;-)

Superb cottage

  • 5 of 5

What a gem of a cottage - the best we have ever stayed in. First impressions are perfect cleanliness, light and air, with white walls and neutral carpet, and practical quarry tiles in the hall and kitchen.

The whole feel is of the coast without having model boats and beach huts everywhere. In fact, there is no knickknackerie, only a few well-chosen lamps, bowls and suchlike. The beds, pillows, cotton bedlinen and towels are white and fresh and the kingsize bed is extremely comfortable.

In the kitchen, the quality continues with sharp knives and a knife sharpener, plain and good cutlery, white tableware and nice glasses. There is everything anyone might need for holiday cooking or even throwing a dinner party, but nowhere is the place cluttered.

There are plenty of coat hooks in the hall and coathangers in the wardrobes. We were plenty warm enough, despite variable weather in our second week. Off-street parking is good too.

And an unexpected bonus was Wifi; with the patchy mobile signal in north Norfolk, this was very welcome as a way of staying in touch.

If all holiday cottages were this well thought out and equipped, there would be a lot more happy holidaymakers. Well done Gilly and Mark on such a wonderful place to stay.

From the Owner

We bought Millstone because we love North Norfolk. We are avid birders and walkers, and believe that North Norfolk is unsurpassed when it comes to wildlife, country walks and nature in general. The beaches at Holkham, Wells and Brancaster are so good for picnics and sandcastles. There is a fantastic range of good places to eat, from fish and chips at Wells-next-the-Sea to the Michelin starred restaurant at Morston. We also enjoy cooking a great range of local produce, always available from nearby stores and farm shops in the area. The cottage is very easy to get to and the conservation village of North Creake is charming without being crowded. If the hustle and bustle of Burnham Market is what you want then it's not far to go.The Jolly Farmer is handily nearby. No driving necessary!

Activity and Interests

Nearest Beach : Holkham at 4 Miles Car: recommended

The nearest beach is at Holkham approximately 8 minutes drive away as is Wells Next the Sea. The beach at Brancaster is approximately 20 minutes drive.

Nearest airport is Norwich. A car is recommended.

For all the necessities of everyday life, Burnham Market, with its traditional post office, butcher, baker, hardware shop, chemist and fish shop is approximately 2 miles away. Wells-Next-the-Sea with its wonderful beaches and shops is 5 miles away. The charming market town of Fakenham is approximately 7 miles away and has supermarkets and banks.

Further Details:

North Norfolk Painting School is located within easy walking distance and offers painting courses run by professional oil painter Michael Kinnear.

Walsingham with its Abbey and places of pilgrimage is well worth a visit.

Take a trip to see the seals at Blakeney Point or just take a boat from Morston Quay.

Explore the shops and cafes of picturesque Blakeney or fish for gilly crabs from the quay.

If you're a foodie try the Michelin starred Morston Hall with it's famous chef Galton Blackiston.

There are so many great eating places you will be spoilt for choice. The White Horse at Brancaster Staithe does wonderful seafood particularly the Brancaster oysters. There are any number of 'Lord Nelson' pubs and restaurants nearby, all serving good food and if you're a Lord Nelson fan there are several places of interest you can visit. Try the Lord Nelson at Nelson's birthplace, Burnham Thorpe.

Having the wifi is an added bonus which can be used or not......depending on how in touch you want to be! Lots of storage space is available in the garage for kayaks, surfboards, bikes, golf clubs, buckets and spades and fishing rods.
