Cottage in Longhope, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England. - Rural location but close to all amenities - post office / supermarket / pubs serving food.
Great location for easy access to the Forest of Dean, Symonds Yat and local market towns of Ross on Wye and Monmouth. Hereford, Gloucester, Cheltenham and the Cotswolds all within a short drive away. A great base to explore all the area has to offer at reasonable rates. Ideal location for golfing or cycling breaks. Secure attached garage available for storage of golf clubs / canoes / bikes etc. Sorry no smokers or pets.
Please note that a £50 damage deposit will be taken for all bookings, this will be
refunded to you 48 hours after your departure either by cheque or internet banking subject to a satisfactory inspection. The minimum stay is 3 nights.
We do have the internet, but it can be a tad intermittent at times due to the location of the property.
The property is equipped with two televisions (one in the bedroom) a dvd player and bed linen and towels are provided. The bed itself is a six foot double or can be split into two three foot singles. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you would need and there is also a small utility room. The cottage is centrally heated - radiators in all rooms. A walk in wardrobe where there's room to store luggage as well as all your clothes. Two garden chairs are available for the summer and also a cool box if you decide to make a picnic for your day out.
Harts Barn craft centre with the cookery school is nearby. There are lovely views down the valley and lots of country walks. Two good food pubs within a couple of miles but a car is essential and a parking space on the drive right outside the front door is allocated.
The cottage is not suitable for small children and persons with restricted mobility.

Glorious stay and a great base!
Just back from a three night stay. The Mews was very comfortable, clean and had everything we could need (and more). The owners gave great directions, were very welcoming and clearly thought about how we could have the best stay. There is plenty of information about the local area (and beyond) at The Mews and it is a great location for venturing out and exploring. Thank you!

The property was perfect. It was cosy, well presented and very clean. The owners had thoughtfully provided everything that we might require such as kitchen roll, washing up liquid, tea, coffee and milk. A lovely surprise was Valentines' day chocolates! The refundable deposit was returned very promptly. We would not hesitate to recommend the property to family and friends. Thanks Gill & Chris

Finally excellent hosts Gill & Chris
A huge thank you to Gillian and Chris for such wonderful accommodation.
I booked this unit for just me for 6 days whilst looking after my elderly parents in the Forest of Dean. Very comfortable stay. Everything you need. The set up is perfect with huge bed and bathroom and washing machine downstairs and the comfortable living upstairs. Wi-Fi great and although mobile coverage always tricky in the Forest, there was one spot it worked.
Gillian and Chris were especially accommodating when my father went in to hospital and my mother then had to stay with me for the last two nights.
Excellent and definitely would recommend.
Fantastic base to eplore the area
The cottage is very easy the find, although if driving from Gloucester the turn onto the road is a little tight!!
For our week away it was the perfect base to explore an area of the country that we have never visited before, with easy access to the M5 and M50, within an hour you can be in the Cotswolds, Birmingham, Bristol or South Wales.
The cottage itself is very well decorated and well furnished with the open plan living area and kitchen on the second floor, and the bathroom and bedroom on the ground floor.
We did need to take advantage of the central heating during our stay, which heats the living area very quickly ensuring a nice temperature to relax in for the evening. Although we did find that the bedroom didn't seem to warm up as quickly, but that wasn't a problem as we prefer a cooler bedroom before retiring for the evening.
We would certainly recommend the cottage to anyone wishing to explore the area. Chris and Gill have created a fantastic cottage that also feels homely.
