About Wendy Harrison

John and Wendy converted the original farm cottages in 2006 to holiday cottages. We took over a year to convert the cottages and did not have an original plan but felt our way! The most important value to us was the quality aspect and wanting to create something comfortable and lasting. We used high quality materials and good craftsmen who left their own stamp of quality.

Wendy Harrison purchased this cottage in 1949

Why Wendy Harrison chose East Lindsey

John and I have 3 grown up kids who have all flown the nest – some as far as they could get! We didn’t think our parenting skills were that lousy! The eldest is in New Zealand so we have called our first barn conversion The Bach (holiday home in NZ). The second one is in London so the traditional cottages are after her (North and South). The third is in Tanzania so the second barn conversion suitably named The Shamba! (Farm in Tanzania)

What makes this cottage unique

Peace tranquility and big skies are the best things on offer when staying in the cottages. They are very comfortable whatever the weather. They have open lawned spaces with plenty of room for lazing around in the Summer as well as the use of a private tennis court only 75m from the cottages. There is a beach hut which can be hired at our local beach (40 mins). The Bach and The Shamba our latest barn conversions, are both on one level with a super king size bed, a wet room and lovely kitchen/living areas.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just a short note to say a BIG Thankyou for providing such a lovely setting and venue for our holiday. You made us feel at home and gave us a friendly welcome. We have had a fabulous break and will definitely mention you to our friends and family. Regard, Odelle, Jim and Matt Ashman

Much has been said about the equipment which is well up to industry standard, however it is the refurbishment of the original cottage which is much to be admired. Only the best of materials have been used. We loved the distressed doors and pine staircase. The cottage is still as pristine as it was when first refurbished in 2006 - in fact it is not a holiday cottage but a luxury home in beautiful surroundings. Mr and Mrs Forman

The property was really nice everything

You needed. Lovely to arrive to home made cake, tea bags and milk in the fridge to have a cuppa.

Will definitely book another stay and take our black lab with us.

Lovely cottage in a stunning surrounding

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Bainvalley cottages was just what we needed for a week of decent rest and relaxation. Our host welcomed us very warmly and even had homemade shortbread for us in the cottage. What a treat! The facilities in the cottage were five star and all in a very good state. It felt like a home away from home.

Our 4 year old loved having the cows just outside and they gave a very calming addition to the stay. The views from the cottage are stunning and it was great having a vantage point from which to watch the sun rise and set. All in all a great stay for our family. Would definitely recommend it.

Gorgeous, quiet country cottage - perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We found North Cottage to be beautifully fitted out with all the downstairs tiled, which is perfect for people with pets. Our cat loved staying here and adored the underfloor heating.

The cottage had everything we needed - the garden room was great for watching the birds and enjoying a glass of wine.

The owners were very welcoming and provided us with chocolate brownies and flowers on arrival, as well as provision of tea, coffee, sugar and even fresh milk.

All in all, we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience and this has definitely been the best of many self-catering places in which we have stayed.

We stayed at The Bach for two nights visiting the area. A beautiful cottage in a lovely peaceful and picturesque area. The cottage had everything needed is of very high standard, clean and is beautifully maintained. The little touches from the owners tea, coffee, milk etc., and a homemade pice of pie ! Lovely. We had a great stay, thoroughly recommended and would love to stay again. Fabulous.

Beautiful Cottage in a stunning little village location

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved our weekend away at the cottages. Very welcoming with tea, coffee, milk and shortbread on arrival - a perfect welcome after a late drive.

The cottage was immaculate and just as described, very pet friendly and our Labrador loved the openness outside, especially our friend cow neighbours. My husband and I are already looking at when we can book to come back, maybe even with the children and my mum.
