The well equipped cottage situated in the the village of Upton Bishop on a ridge with views over farmland to the Brecon Beacons to the west and the Malverns to the east. It has off road parking for three vehicles and a large well maintained garden together with a patio and furniture. The property has full oil fired central heating and fifty litres of oil is included in the booking price. Due to the efficiency of the system fifty litres per week are rarely used.

For your safety the property has mains connected fire/smoke alarms on each floor, two carbon monoxide detectors and an electrical safety certificate.

About the Owner

Peter and Jane opened the holiday cottage 20 years ago and have welcomed guests from the UK and abroad receiving excellent feed back. Many make return bookings year on year and we are happy to see them return. We hope we will be able to welcome you to stay in our well equipped cosy cottage. This exceptional property with its beautiful garden is situated on the ridge in the village of Upton Bishop with glorious panoramic views to the Brecon Beacons and the Malvern Hills. It is easily accessed from the major road networks, but is quiet, peaceful, relaxing and a lovely area for walking and wildlife.

Activity and Interests

Travel:

The nearest airports are Birmingham, Bristol and Cardiff and the motorway and dual carriageway network are close by for easy access. Visitors will require a car for access the cottage although you can use the rail and bus routes.

Distances:

Upton Bishop is well situated for visiting the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, Malvern Hills and the Brecon Beacons. The market town of Ross-on-Wye is only four miles away and it is ten miles to either the two other beautiful market towns of Monmouth and Ledbury. The cathedral towns of Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester are within easy reach together with the old spa town of Malvern.

Further Details:

The area has a wealth of pubs and restaurants and the market town of Ross-on-Wye has supermarkets, banks and individual shops. There is a village shop in Gorsley which is two miles away for your basic requirements.

There are many activities to pursue including cycling, walking, canoeing, fishing and golf although you may choose to visit the many historic buildings and gardens in the locality.

We are here to help you make the most of your relaxing holiday and don't forget the property has full oil fired central heating and 50 litres per week of oil is included in the booking price. Due to the efficiency of the system 50 litres are rarely used.

Booking Notes:
Please book directly with the owners, Jane or Peter. An initial 25% deposit is required to secure the booking and the balance together with a £50 security deposit to be paid six weeks before your arrival. The security deposit will be refunded once the property has been vacated and checked.

Once final payment is made, we will send directions to the property and advise where the key can be found.

To protect yourselves we recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance.

Changeover Day:
The change over day is Saturday. The arrival time is no earlier than 2pm with the departure time by 10am.

Short breaks are available at off peak times at a cost of £80 per night.

We offer a 10% discount for a two week booking or for any further information information please contact us.

It is a cosy well equipped cottage with off road parking, patio accessed from the sliding doors in the living room and a large garden for games and recreation. It is four miles from Ross-on-Wye, which has wealth of individual shops. The village is also served by a very good bus route if you wish to use that means of transport.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The accommodation is set out on three floors. On the ground floor there is the kitchen, snug, dining room and lounge with an open fire. On the second floor there is the master bedroom and the bathroom and on the third floor is the double bedroom with two single beds. Children and pets are welcome, although pets should not be left unattended in the property. Outside: Off road parking for three cars a large well maintained garden with plenty of room for outside activities. There is a patio with furniture where on summer evenings you can sit, relax and watch the sunset over the Brecon Beacons. The garden is a haven for birds and wildlife. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: We provide linen and towels and the owners live a short distance away should you require any assistance. Other: The snug with the sofa bed can also be used as a quiet room and has not only the settee but other comfy chairs together with WiFi, dvd and radio and the payphone.
