Les Pins du Phare Holiday Villa sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms and is a great place for family holidays or two families holidaying together - with the beach only 400 metres away and the bustling seaside town of La Tranche only a 10 minute walk away.

It has a sunny garden and patio, with a private heated pool (May until end of September) and al fresco dining area under a covered veranda - perfect for relaxing and sampling a glass or two of the local wine.

On the ground floor there is a modern living room, with a wood burner for the cooler winter months and patio doors out to the veranda and pool area. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, hob and electric oven and the washing machine is located in the basement garage.

One of the double bedrooms is located on the ground floor – with an en suite shower room and there is a separate WC in the hallway.

A TV lounge is also on the ground floor – with UK and French Free-to-air TV channels and a PS2 with lots of games.

Upstairs, there are three further bedrooms – one double, one twin and one with bunk beds. All have en suite shower rooms.

Outside there is a covered veranda with a long dining table and chairs and an area in which to relax with a wicker sofa and chairs. There is a security fence around this area to prevent younger children entering the pool area unsupervised.

The 9m x 5m heated pool is open from May until the end of September each year.

In the basement there is a table tennis table and a bike.

In a quiet residential street and with off street parking for 2 cars, this Villa really has everything you will need for a great holiday. All mod-cons are included - with Wi-Fi Internet access, UK satellite TV, French Channels, DVD player, PS2 and lots of other games.

Cot bedding is not provided. - Please bring your own pool/beach towels. Outside: The garden of Les Pins du Phare faces south and is not overlooked by any of the neighbouring properties. The private heated pool is 9m x 5m and is securely fenced off from the house and patio area for the security of your children. The pool is heated from May until the end of September. A charcoal barbecue is available for your use, and there is outside seating for 8 guests under the covered veranda.

Immediately liked the property on arrival, plenty of space, good sized bedrooms all with en-suite. Well located for access to a sandy beach and local restaurants and shops. Huge Super-U supermarket 10 minutes away for those big shopping expeditions. Good sized pool but as it takes up most of the garden there is not too much room for playing with the kids. Surrounding area is very pleasant, the property is not overlooked and it is very peaceful in the evenings. Thoroughly recommended!

Fabulous family villa

The villa was ideally placed for a family holiday. The villa was very well equipped with literally everything you could think you could ever need or want whilst away....very much a home from home. The improvement for 2014 were excellent additions to the villa. It would be nice to see the bunk bed room and en-suite given alittle more attention, with the tree outside the window and painted blue, it's alittle dark and not so airy and bright as the other 3 rooms. Having said that my 3 year old daughter found it very comfortable and really loved the novelty of sleeping in a bunk bed.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Annette for the support she gave us, not only through the booking process and keeping us fully informed with everything we needed to bring with us, but also when our nan was taken poorly and admitted to hospital, Annette met us at the hospital and stayed until they had actually admitted her....which was about 6/7 hours later. It was extremely kind of her and very helpful as we do not speak fluent french and didn't understand the doctors.

We are intending to return to France next year, and should we choose the same area to visit again we will certainly look to book this villa again if available or contact Annette as she was a very approachable, friendly lady, who made everything very simple...ideal when you are booking a holiday.

Les Pins du Phare Holiday Home is owned by Ian and Dorothy from London, and the rentals for this house are looked after by Annette & Jason who live within 20 minutes of the holiday home - so are always on hand to offer help and advice. The house was originally bought several years ago as a holiday home for the family - with two growing boys, this was an ideal location for family holidays - only a short walk from the fantastic long beach at Le Phare and only a 10 minute walk to the seaside town centre of La Tranche sur Mer. There was always entertainment laid on - firework displays, musical evenings and street entertainers! Now the boys have grown up a bit, Ian & Dorothy decided to rent out their lovely house, so that others could enjoy the same holiday experiences.

What makes this house unique

Les Pins du Phare Holiday Home is set in an ideal location for family holidays! It is set in a quiet suburb of a bustling seaside town and is close to all amenities and especially the beach, which is only 400 metres away. The house is well equipped with everything that you would need to have an enjoyable holiday - private pool, patio dining, all mod-cons in the house, table tennis table, all bed linens and towels included, and Wi-Fi internet access. The area is quite flat, and is great for cycling and walking - with many guided paths laid out through the pine forests that line the coastline nearby.

Not like a holiday house at all, but very 'homely'. Everything one needs. great pool and garden equipment. Situation is excellent and we'll recommend it! Table tennis table put to great use. Great location.

Very comfortable stay (again!) weather was mostly excellent. Really enjoyed the beach and ate lots of good seafood from Super U. Thank you for the use of your very accommodating house. We hope to be back next year!

The lovely beach of Le Phare is only 400m away from the villa. Here you will be able to sunbathe, paddle in the water or body board in the great waves. The beach stretches for miles in either direction, or you can walk along the beach to the main seaside resort of La Tranche sur Mer - with its bustling shops, bars and restaurants. In the summer months there is lots of entertainment in the town - with musical evenings, beach parties, markets and firework displays to mention just a few!


The airports at Nantes and La Rochelle are both around 1 hour's drive from the villa. Both airports are served by many of the budget airlines from the UK and car hire is available.

If driving, the northern ferry ports start from less than 4 hours away. (St Malo is just under 4 hours away, Cherbourg is 6 hours away, and Calais & the Eurotunnel is 7 hours away.) If using Brittany Ferries, we can offer a 10% discount on your crossing.


The Villa is within walking distance of the beach and main town of La Tranche. Further afield, there are many other great beaches - all within a 10 - 20 minute drive.

There are many other activities nearby - such as Karting circuits, crazy golf, tennis, horse riding, cycling and walking the many guided paths.

There are many other interesting towns nearby - several having markets, fetes and festivals throughout the summer months.

The area is a great location for family holidays!

The Villa is located in the quiet residential suburb of Le Phare which has a bakery and a couple of restaurants within easy walking distance.

The main town of La Tranche has a weekly market selling lots of local produce - with seafood straight from the boats, and wines and fruits from the surrounding area. In the centre of La Tranche are many restaurants catering for lots of different tastes - seafood, pizza, steak, and pasta all available. In the evenings there is usually some entertainment laid on - either in the large town square or along the beach. There is a large supermarket in the town, and many other shops, banks and ice cream parlours.

For those who like to explore whilst on holiday, this area has many interesting attractions to visit. The famous Puy du Fou historical Theme Park, with its Gladiators, Vikings, and Musketeers & Medieval Knights is only 75 minutes away.

A visit to the Marais Poitevin - Venise Verte - network of canals and ruined abbeys is a lovely way to spend a relaxing day out - you can be guided along the canals by an experienced punter, or can wander freely along the tow-paths.

For a more energetic day out - The Indian Forest Adventure Park - is a great place to let off steam. There are several high-wire courses through the trees and even a zip wire over a lake. (Only for the fearless!) At ground level there are many other things to do - pony rides, bouncy castle, paint ball, carting and water slides!

The Vendee has several local wine routes to explore - Chateau de Rosnay has a guided tour, museum and wine tasting, and there are lots of individual producers offering tasting sessions.

The pretty town and old port of La Rochelle is only 1 hour away, and is well worth a visit - with harbour-side restaurants, arcaded shopping streets, and lots of entertainment every night.
