Fantastic family getaway
About the Owner
Hi...we are Bob & Kathy and came to live permanently in the Lot in 2000 after having bought our barn 1998.
We came here, not to escape the british weather or the crowds but because we wanted an adventure & a new challenge.
We've never regretted it !

Fantastic family getaway
We spent a fabulous week here in August and definitely did not want to leave! The gite is excellently equipped and well presented. The grounds are beautiful with lots of space for children to run around and play. The swimming pool surrounded by the gardens and with views of fields was immaculately clean and a great place to spend sunny afternoons. Nearby there are plenty of walks including one down the lane to an amazing view of the limestone causses. Little touches like washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets were much appreciated. We received a very warm welcome from the owners and nothing was too much trouble for them. Locally there are beautiful small towns and villages with markets and bike hire facilities and the town of Cajarc has supermarket and restaurants. St Cirq Lapopie is a must see. The highlight for our children was the owners' dog who became a firm family friend! If you want peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings, then you will love it here.
La Petite Grange -excellent
We found that La Petite Grange in the Lot Valley was very good accommodation. The owner was very helpful with online inquiries and arrangements for payment. The location was as described as was the accommodation. It was all very clean, well equipped and had plenty of space. The owner was very welcoming and very helpful throughout our stay. It was one of the best properties we have stayed in in France. The pool area was very nice and clean. There were spectacular views over the valley. There were lots of walks in the neigbourhood. It was a good location for touring upstream and downstream along the valley and also on to the surrounding hills. There is swimming in the river and boating activities as well. There were good boat trips on the river. You would need a car there but there is lots to see on trips. The main town of Cahors, some 40 kms. to the west is very interesting.
We have had, for the third time, a very pleasant stay in the cottage.
The pleasant atmosfere inside the cottage, the peace and quiet outside, the beautiful views and not to forget the friendliness of the owners, made our holliday again fantastic.
From the warm greeting on arrival, to our departure, as if we were old friends, we cannot recommend this property and it’s patrons highly enough.
The gite is located in a lovely setting and you feel as though you are far, far away from anywhere. The views are amazing and there is a feeling of peace and tranquility. However, it is actually very convenient to visit many places of interest and beauty, including the much acclaimed St Cirq la Poppie. The nearest small town, Cajarc, has excellent facilities, a beautiful historic centre and some excellent bars and restaurants. There is also a plan d’eau from where you can swim or take a canoe.
The gite is clean and well equipped. It is nicely decorated and very comfortable. Indeed it felt like home from home. There is a very nice terrace if you like to eat outside as well as an inside dining area.
The grounds, garden and pool are lovely. They are well maintained and cared for.
We will definitely return to this property (probably time and time again) and would most certainly recommend it to family and friends.
No english langage, sorry. It's better for me to explain my feeling in french langage.
For english people, only some words : wonderful house and wonderful Kathy and Bob. :)

“We already knew the Lot region quite well and when we saw "La Grange " on a country ramble one day we just fell in love with it . The beams were still hanging with wires for tobbaco drying & the horses & cows had long since left..but we knew what a lovely home it would make. Apart from the natural, unspoilt beauty of the region (it is in the National Park of Quercy ) the peace and tranquillity of the area is quite addictive. It's the sort of place where if you meet a neighbour driving in the opposite direction on the lane, it would be rude not to stop and have a chat. If you are behind such neighbours...well..you would just stop and admire the view whilst they catch up on their gossip ! Time seems to take on a new meaning here !”

“"La Grange" and "La Petite Grange" offer a peaceful & relaxing holiday but nearby there are many interesting & pretty villages to visit including the famous St Cirq lapopie ( 8kms) voted France's favourite village last year. Cahors & Figeac are only 40 mins drive. The world renown caves at Peche Merle (12kms ). Also we are between the Lot (3kms ) & the Célé (8kms) rivers so water sports abound.
