About Alexandra Adamson

My name is Alexandra and I live in Edinburgh. My partner is an engineer and I work part time for a property management company. My passion is dancing and my husband's passion is cycling. We have spent many holidays snowboarding or cycling but in the last few years we have slowed down on the sporting pursuits and like to explore new places on foot!

Alexandra Adamson purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Alexandra Adamson chose New Town

If you love historic property and want to experience Georgian character and luxury, you will not be disappointed.

The area is a UNESCO world heritage site and considered to be a masterpiece of city planning.

We have brought an 1840's property to life and the location belies the calm and peaceful feeling you get when you stay here.

The area Broughton has retained it's sense of community within the city, as we also benefit from the local shops and specialty outlets surrounding the property.

What makes this apartment unique

You would be never think our apartment was in the city so we love the fact that it is so quiet but literally 90 seconds (I've timed it) from Broughton Street where we can shop for basics or specialty items. There are so many restaurants, cafes and bars you are spoilt for choice. I love that we can walk to the main shops in and around Princes and George Street and our new tram system is up and running - 180 m and a 5 min walk from the apartment!

Beautiful apartment in perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Although our flight was delayed, Alexandra was very understanding and changed her plans to allow our later than expected check in.

The apartment is extremely well located just a five minute walk from York Place tram stop which is the end of the line from the airport. So convenient and efficient.

There are a number of very good restaurants and bistros in the immediate area and the shopping area of Princes Street is only a ten minute walk away.

The apartment itself is very highly specced with a large comfortable bed that was difficult to leave! The shower is amazing and not as confusing as some have reported; hot and very powerful.

Very well equipped kitchen with everything you would need to prepare a meal, although the most we ever did was make tea and coffee!

I cannot recommend this apartment enough. Alexandra is a great host and the apartment feels like a home rather than just a place to stay. I will definitely stay here again whenever visiting Edinburgh.

Elegant and luxurious

  • 5 of 5

Broughton Place is ideally situated for exploring Edinburgh and just a few minutes from York Place tram stop, meaning transport is really straightforward. The apartment itself has the wow factor. The photos look good, but the reality is better and Alexandra has done everything to make the stay as luxurious as possible. Thank you

The apartment ticked all the boxes for us, great central location, street level door, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, and within easy walking distance of Edinburgh's touristy haunts.

The area around the flat was quiet and we never had a problem with street noise.

Cannot finish this review without mentioning Alexandra the owner, she was brilliant, really friendly and a mine of information on the local area and Edinburgh.

This apartment is a gem and we fell in love with it. !!!!

Couldn't be better!

  • 5 of 5

This flat is comfortable, well decorated and in a perfect location to walk to almost anything you'll want to visit. If you're flying in, it's super easy to take the tram straight from the airport and walk here. The street and flat ooze "New Town" charm (which isn't at all new anymore, but was new in the late 1800s). The owner, Alexandra, was there to greet us, show us the ropes of the flat and give us some recommendations. She was warm and lovely.

Honestly it was just perfect all the way around. We're definitely planning to come back to Edinburgh and specifically to this flat.
