About the Owner

Frank and Pauline are based in Hampstead, London. We have two grown children.

Frank is an author, artist, web designer and computer programmer. Pauline is a counsellor, beauty consultant and a wonderfully creative cook.

We love travelling, architecture, photography, art, music and good food. Is it any wonder, then, that we have fallen in love with this gorgeous part of the Turquoise Coast, which accommodates all of our needs and desires, and much, much more.

Superb views at Bayvista

  • 5 of 5

First visit to Bayvista was in June 2014, that visit was just the two of us, my wife and I. This visit for part of our stay consisted of six of us, once again no problems. As I said in last years review this apartment has everything you need and more. There's wifi, TV plus IPod docking station for your use if required. A home from home..

The views from the L shaped balcony are breathtaking your looking out over the old town, the harbour and out to the islands. Sitting there watching the sun set is amazing.

Kalkan with its beautiful views is a special place, the terrain can be quite daunting as it's quite hilly with everything dropping down to the harbour, but it also works as all the rooftop restaurants have this wonderful view over the bay.

Thank you Pauline, Frank for once again looking after us, we love your apartment and will be in touch again next year..

I must recommend a new restaurant that has made an impact on the scene, the Salonika, it is a street restaurant and it is well worth a visit. And guys don't forget a haircut and shave is a must.

Spectacular Apartment and Location

  • 5 of 5

Having never been to Turkey before, my wife and I, and our 8 year old son, didn't really know what to expect. We booked this apartment in Kalkan after it was recommended by a family member who had stayed the previous year. We were not disappointed!!

The property is excellent, very clean, spacious and just a short walk from the old town, which is an absolutely beautiful vibrant place abundant with lots of stunning traditional restaurants and bars, all of a very high standard. The infinity pool is a lovely feature and the terrace and balconies have amazing views of Kalkan Bay. Especially beautiful as the sun sets!

There is plenty to do and see in in and around Kalkan and the surrounding towns. My son especially loved swimming in the sea at the Kalamar beach club, just a short taxi drive away.

This apartment has everything you could possible need. The owners, Frank and Pauline, have obviously put alot of thought, and time and effort, into providing a first class 'home from home' in a beautiful location for a fantastic holiday experience. We really can't rate it highly enough! We will definitely be staying here again! Many thanks!!

Stunning Views

  • 5 of 5

Excellent property, clean and well situated for accessing the old town. Stand out feature has to be the fantastic infinity pool with views across the whole of Kalkan Bay.

Arrived late at night and greeted at the door and provided with a much appreciated welcome pack.

Great views are seen from all floors but the best comes from the roof terrace, where we enjoyed a number of BBQs.

We have stayed in a number of apartments over the years in Kalkan and this one is certainly one of the best and we would definitely return here again without hesitation.

I can't rate highly enough

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved the apartment and Kalkan. Booking and all arrangements handled so efficiently, we had absolute confidence that we were in for a great holiday. We were not disappointed. The apartment is just a five minute walk down hill into old Kalkan. Really well equipped. The views are to die for from both the first and top floor balconies. Kalkan is full to bursting with superb restaurants and shops and everyone is just so friendly. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Wonderful Apartment!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Kalkan where we stayed at this lovely apartment- The views are spectacular. The apartment was well equipped and ideally situated - just a slow 10 min stroll over the footbridge and down the hill into Kalkan itself but a harder walk back up the hill in the evening- sometimes we cheated by jumping in a cab for just 10 lira!! We had a problem with an air conditioning unit and some electrics not working for one day but a quick phone call to Tamer and the electricians were on the doorstep in no time - all mended. We often had the pool to ourselves which was great but even when other guests from the other apartments were round the pool there was still plenty of room. I would definitely recommend a stay at this beautiful apartment and hope to be back very soon!

Everything you need

  • 5 of 5

"The Bayvista apartment does everything it says in its review for the place. It is a spacious three bedroomed apartment, the location is great and it has wonderful spectacular views of Kalkan Bay. You can sit on the veranda during the daytime or at night with a glass of wine and take in the ambiance of this beautiful harbour town. We love this town of Kalkan.

The pool area is superb, you still have uninterrupted views of the islands that sit majestically out in the waters of Kalkan Bay. Although the pool area is shared with the other three apartments we had the pool area to ourselves for most of our duration here, it was like having our own private pool.

Some nights we barbecued on the veranda, (we were actually on first name terms with the local butcher). We just fired it up and burnt some lamb or chicken put some salad together and sat there with a glass of wine....BRILLIANT. I would recommend that you wait until the sun goes down before you have the BBQ as it's still quite hot on the veranda.

For people who are coming to Kalkan for the first time, there are lots of excellent eateries. Rooftop restaurants are plentiful and they are of quality, you can make your own choices.

Best iced coffee is served in the Cafe Delmar, they also do a mouth watering crepe.

Heading into town just cross the footbridge walk down to the corner and follow the road down, it is an energetic walk back but in the four weeks we were here we did not at anytime think about getting a taxi.

Some things about Kalkan that might be useful to you. The people here are real down to earth people, nice friendly and go out of there way to help. Plenty shops and all open late. Sometimes your electricity will go off at anytime of day don't worry it will come back on soon.

Guy's what ever else you do treat yourself to a shave and a haircut...it's a must!

To Frank and Pauline .....thanks for looking after us your apartment is great.

Location

From the Owner

In 2007 we were invited to Kalkan by friends who had recently bought an apartment there. We laughed when they warned us that we were in grave danger of "getting hooked". We will never forget that first breath-taking view of the bay that you get when sweeping round the bend of the road high above the village. That's when the surge of incredulity hit us and we wondered in disbelief at the almost surreal beauty of the place. Our feet never really touched the ground on that holiday. We returned year after year, discovering evermore amazing gems in and around the area and then much a further afield. There's so much to do, and yet, when you wish it, in a snap you can just wind down into utter tranquility. Soon, we knew this place was definitely for us. Our friends were right. We were hooked! :-)
