About Vince and Eva Morris

Now living in France with my wife Eva, my profession is teaching martial arts and law enforcement. Originally from the UK and Germany, we discovered the Languedoc area and love living here and sharing our local knowledge with our guests.

Vince and Eva Morris purchased this house in 2012

Why Vince and Eva Morris chose Bedarieux area

When looking for a place in France we immediately fell in love with the house! Nestled in the surrounding hills, the small hamlet of La Caumette just breathes history and tradition, but at the same time it is not remote; Everything is there: The wine, the hills, the beach and of course a bit further the bustling life in Montpellier within a hour's drive.

What makes this house unique

We have a big folder for our visitors with brochures of what's going on in the area and places to visit.

And most of visitors make great plans to see this, do that, or go to the beach, but just end up staying around the house and pool area, enjoying the sun, peace and quiet.

You will love it!

Guestbook comments from the owner

What a wonderful + peaceful place. You made us feel very welcome. It is a truly beautiful part of the world. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Alex, June 2014

We've had a truly relaxing time here in the mountains. We need a few more weeks (or months) to do it all justice! Fabulous cycling, walking and some very hot runs!! The nearby towns are beautiful and the local people all very friendly! We loved the house, our hosts Eva and Vince, and Elfie the puppy!

Great house in a very peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

This house was a lovely well presented home for our two week holiday. The pool area was excellent and safe for our young children. Eva and Vince were very helpful whenever we needed information or help. Overall a great place to stay and would love to visit again when we next holiday in France.

A wonderful family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We have just experienced the perfect villa for a family. We booked the villa hoping it would be suitable for two families with children aged between 7 years to 15 years. This villa exceeded our expectations. The decor is beautiful and the villa has a special wow factor as you walk in. The rooms are bright, airy and exactly as described. The pool is totally private, crystal clear and well maintained. The attention to detail is evident everywhere. The ultimate winner for us was the owners of the villa are close by, non intrusive but readily available to help with any villa related question and our enthusiasm to learn about the area. A 'must see' villa for any family. Thank you for our special holiday.

Delightful holiday home

  • 5 of 5

Three generations of our family have enjoyed a fantastic holiday at this lovely well equipped house situated in the hillside village of La Caumette. We made good use of the (secret) garden opposite the house which was a delight with its swimming pool, barbecue and petanque/badminton court with convenient shaded areas. The old bakery also had the provision of a summer kitchen and toilet. Within easy driving distance from the house there is plenty to amuse all ages. Our hosts Vince and Eva gave help and advice when requested and made us very welcome. We will certainly recommend Maison de Maitre and should the opportunity arise return ourselves.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. It was really nice having you here and great to see you enjoy your stay so much - having two weeks to explore the area is such a bonus. We look forward to maybe seeing you again at La Caumette there is still a lot more to do here. ;-) Best wishes to the whole family, Eva & Vince

Maison de Maître La Caumette - FR19524

  • 5 of 5

The property was accurately described, very homely, well maintained and clean with lots of space for 10 people.

There are different areas in the house and gardens to relax on your own or with family and friends.

Great service from Eva and Vince when required.

Would very much recommend this property without any hesitation.

The property is situated in lovely hills.

The road cycling is fantastic. especially if you like the challenge of a few cols. The Tour De France passed through here in 2013 (Stage 7) traversing some of the nearby cols.

The nearest supermarkets and town are just a 10 minute drive away.

The walking in this area is also great with many route options through the hills and woods and along the hill ridge tops.

If you're a mountain biker there are many off road route options as well, either uphill, downhill or traversing across the hilltop ridge tracks.

We only went to the coast once as we're not really beach lovers, but if you are then it's about a 30 minute drive with many beaches to choose from.

There is no bar or restaurant within walking distance, but there is lots of choice if you don't mind a short drive.

If you like good food then go to Auberge de Combes, a 20 minute drive through the hills. It has fantastic food and a great location with a incredible views.

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely place in a very quiet hamlet just outside Faugeres. The house was comfortable, and the rooms nice and spacious. The pool was across and alley which took a little getting used to, but was lovely and included a great bbq area and little kitchen.

It was also an excellent base to explore the local area, go wine tasting and generally visit the beautiful area.

We'd definitely go again, and hopefully rent this house!
