Great cottage in a great location!

  • 4 of 5

Each room has its own ensuite shower and toilet as well as there being a downstairs toilet with a bath! There are three floors, with the twin room being at the top of the house. The attic room is beautiful and the doubles very pretty too. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with TV, fire etc, a separate large dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. You really have everything you need here. Outside you are practically next door to the best cafe for breakfasts and the rest of the village is a stones throw away. I would definitely recommend talland house, having stayed in three other cottages in polperro and I would visit again! Thanks!

4 DAYS AT TALLAND IN BEAUTIFUL POLPERRO.

  • 5 of 5

I HAVE ALWAYS ADORED POLPERO , VISITED MANY TIMES , BUT NEVER STAYED THEIR.

SO THIS WAS MY FIRST STAY IN VILLAGE AT TALLAND , AND WHAT A CHOICE I MADE . IT WAS PERFECT , YOUR CAR IS PARKED SAFELY SOME QUARTER OF A MILE AWAY , BUT THAT WAS NOT A PROBLEM , YOU COULD STILL DRIVE TO COTTAGE TO DROP OF.

IT HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED , PLENTY OF ROOM , WARM , CONSTANT HOT WATER , IDEAL LOCATION. FRIENDLY PEOPLE , AND SHOPS/PUBS OPEN EVEN IN JANUARY.

WE WILL BE GOING AGAIN , JUST A QUESTION OF GETTING TIME OFF.

I PREFER TO GO OUT OF SEASON , BUT THAT IS JUST A PERSONAL CHOICE , LOVELY AND QUIET.

Talland House

  • 2 of 5

Very good location regarding walks, harbour, pubs and shops. The house however needs urgent maintenence and a deep clean. On arrival I spent a little time brushing cobwebs etc from the entrance and rear terrace. Thought the log fire was enjoyable on a rainy night although we had water coming through the bathroom. We were also aware of our lower neighbours where the lack of sound proofing affected the holiday enjoyment.

Owner's Response: Glad you liked the location, We are disappointed to hear you were unhappy with the cleaning. The nature of the property with stone walls and exposed beams creates a lot of cleaning and unfortunately things occasionally get missed. As you chose not to notify us at the time or when you were met at the house we couldn't do anything. After all, we pay to have the property cleaned and need to know if it is satisfactory. Regards maintenance, the property is 500 yrs old and there is constantly something to do. I do wish it was as easy as a modern house but that would lose the fabulous character. UPDATE: We have installed additional soundproofing between the properties.
