House in Es Castell, Menorca, Balearic Islands - Stunning, Quiet Location Only 10 Minutes Walk To The Fishing Village Of Es Castell

Situated on the exclusive Tramontana estate with unsurpassed views over Mahon harbour to the ancient fortress of La Mola. There are just 25 privately owned houses surrounded by beautiful gardens and a large pool with a children's area overlooking the harbour. The house has two double bedrooms, one en suite with harbour views from the balcony, a twin bedroom and a separate family bathroom. The house is well furnished with a modern kitchen, TV with UK channels, wi fi and a large terrace with views down the harbour

The town of Es Castell and the stunning fishing harbour of Calas Fonts with it's many cafes and restaurants are a 10 minute walk away, from here you can catch the bus to the capital city of Mahon, it takes 10 minutes and the buses are every half hour.

The nearest beaches and the airport are 15 minutes by car.

Tramontana is very tranquil and perfect for watching the boats, from small fishing boats to cruise ships and super yachts coming in and out of the harbour.

There are also steps down the rocks should you feel like a dip in the sea!

Notes on accommodation: The property is over three floors, on the ground floor there is an open plan kitchen and living room with glazed doors to the patio. Spiral stairs lead to the first floor with a king size bedroom with high, beamed ceiling, en-suite shower, built in wardrobes and balcony with harbour views. Second double bedroom with high, beamed ceiling, built in wardrobes and sink. Family bathroom with full size bath and over shower, sink, wc, and washing machine. Second floor, twin bedroom. Outside: Off the living room is a patio with table, chairs, sun beds and barbecue and lovely views of Mahon harbour. access to the extensive communal gardens and large swimming pool with children's area and panoramic views of the harbour. Utility Room: Iron, ironing board, hairdryers Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen provided and changed weekly, the property is cleaned at the beginning of the rental period.

Very comfortable villa in a private complex.. Huge private pool surrounded by lawns..

We chose Tramontana Apartments in S'ol del Este as it was in a great location and close to Es Castell. Our villa was perfect for us, clean, homely and included a lovely little terrace.

Our only early concern were the spiral staircases (leading to the bedrooms) which were very narrow but we soon got to used to them!

Wd definitely recommend hiring a car, which we did.

if you are a family and want a good place to stay ..look no further

very quite surroundings with views over the bay.ideal location for cala fonts (10 min walk)

local bar/restaurant is 2 mins walk

mahon is a 15 min bus ride away

lots to see and do

would recommend for a family of 4/5

This was our second family stay in this spacious property and we will definitely be coming back. The house is tastefully and traditionally furnished and very clean. It also now benefits from wifi and a lovely, new kitchen. There is a large terrace, surrounded by plants and flowers, which is ideal for outside dining and has stunning side views into Mahon harbour.

The shared gardens and pool are delightful (never crowded and beautifully maintained) and you can also swim in the sea just metres away, through a little gate and down some steps onto the rocks. The local harbour of Cala Fonts is within walking distance and the main port of Mahon, just a ten minute drive. Both offer a wonderful selection of restaurants and boutiques.

Two of our favourite beaches on the island (Mesquida and Alcafar) are only a short drive away. A new water park has just opened this year (again, only a 15 minute drive), which impressed our three teenage children. We hired a Rib from Nautic Fun in Mahon for two days and had great fun, driving along the coast, visiting various secluded coves and swimming off the boat in crystal clear waters.

This is the perfect place for peace and relaxation and if you particularly love watching boats, from fishing vessels to luxury yachts, drifting in and out of the mouth of the harbour just outside your back door, then you will be in paradise!

The nearest beaches are Punta Prima and Cala Mesquida both of which are approximately 20 minutes drive. The bay of Cala Padera is a couple of minutes walk away, here there is access to the sea, sunbathing terraces a park and a couple of bars/restaurants.


Mahon airport is 15-20 minutes by car or taxi. A car is not essential as Es Castell has all the amenities for day to day living and Mahon is accessible by foot or bus. There is also boat taxi service from Calas Fonts to Mahon and the fortress of La Mola.


Mahon is 5 minutes by car, 20 minutes by bus from Es Castell or approximately 40 minutes on foot. There is an excellent bus service From Mahon bus station to all the main towns and beaches. Es Castell and the harbour of Calas Fonts are 10 minutes on foot.

Further Details:

There is a bar/ cafeteria and a small shop 1 minute walk away, there is another bar/restaurant and a bar overlooking the bay of Cala Padera. In Es Castell there are supermarkets, bakers, chemist, banks and numerous bars, cafes and restaurants, especially around the beautiful fishing harbour of Calas Fonts with stunning views across the harbour towards the fortress of La Mola. On Sundays at 9am there are boats from Cala Fontanelles on the outskirts of Es Castell to the beautifully restored Isla del Rey. The fortress of San Felipe is ten minutes by foot and Fort Marlborough approximately 25 minutes.
