After falling in love with Polzeath having spent 10 years of coming here on holiday with my wife and twin daughters we finally were lucky enough to move here to live in 2007. With a fantastic community and lots of outdoor activities we are never short of fun times. Spending free time surfing and Gig rowing on the Camel estuary, evenings and weekends on the beach with family & friends, having a BBQ and watching the sun set over the ocean with a glass of wine!!
Dominic Leese purchased this villa in 2007
Polzeath is a fantastic location with its easy access to beautiful beaches, stunning walks, fantastic watersports
We decided to purchased our two lovely beach cottages, Tides Reach & Waves End at auction as they were only about 200 meters from the stunning beach in Polzeath. We completely rebuilt them internally and have been welcoming holiday makers and returning families since 2007. It is a real pleasure to meet new people coming to stay with us on holiday and building freindships over the years as they return.
With the extra land that came with our cottages we have now built two brand new 3 bedroom beach cottages, 1 & 2 The Navigators, next door which were ready for the 2013 season and have now build new 2 bedroom cottages 3 & 4 The Navigators ready for 2016 season.
Our cottages are in a fantastic location in the centre of Polzeath with easy access to all the local amenities.
With surfboard & wetsuit hire on the beach along with cafes & restaurants. Being only 200 meters level walk to the beach with parking you do not need to get in a car & pay for parking on the beach & you can pop back anytime to use the cottages.
We have the 2 Michelin Star restaurant "Nathan Outlaw" in Port Isaac and Rick Steins fish restaurants just a 10 minute ferry ride accross the scenic Camel estuary.
Along with fresh mussels and oysters farmed in the estuary and available from the fish mongers in Rock. There is an array of local produce from the farm shop at Trebretherick, locally sourced meat from the butchers , and the best pasties in cornwall for the bakers "Barnecutts"
Bookings can be made direct with the owner Dominic Leese. A 25% deposit is required when booking and full payment is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.
There is a damage deposit of £100 for Tides Reach & Waves End. There is a damage deposit of £200 for 1 & 2 The Navigators. These deposits are refundable after your stay.
During peak weeks our change over day is a Friday in 1 & 2 The Navigators and Tides Reach & Waves End.

The property is well thought through for a family beach holiday. It is spotlessly clean and decorated to a very high standard. Within walking distance for all local amenities and perfectly placed for a short walk to the beach which is a hugely popular surfing destination. The outdoor shower to the rear of the property is a great touch, however the security code lock on the gate needs looking at as the gate wouldn't lock to keep wetsuits/surfboards secure. We had a fantastic week in the perfect holiday home, would highly recommend.
On arrival we obtained the key from the key safe and on entering the property the first thing you notice is how new it all is. We were apparently only the second booking in the property.
At ground floor level there is one double room ( with ensuite facilities) and one twin room. The double bed was very comfortable at least 5 foot wide! Also a full bathroom with shower head above the bath. Upstairs you enter an open plan living dining and kitchen area comprising a good size fridge dishwasher washing machine halogen hob and decent sink. Plenty of cookery and cutlery provided in addition to the usual utensils. The plumbing is modern using an unvented system so the showers have good power.
There are two two seater settees in the lounge area which were very comfortable in addition a good sized flat screen TV with wi fi router underneath. The bedrooms also have smaller wall mounted TV's.
There is a patio door leading to a balcony from where you can enjoy views of the sea and the sunsets. Table and 4 chairs provided.
Round the back for surfers there is an outdoor push button shower for washing wet suites etc.
500 yards away you will find a couple bars / restaurants but no "olde world" traditional pub! Try Port Isaac for that! There is a well stocked Spa shop and Fish n Chip shop.
We enjoyed walking round the South West path which is easy to locate. We walked to Rock and took the ferry across to Padstow ( £4 return). We enjoyed lunch at Rick Steins cafe £23 for 3 courses before returning on the ferry and walking back. If you are used to walking this is an easy walk!
You are within reasonable driving distance of the Eden project as well as Lanhydroc National Trust house and gardens both well worth a visit.
Overall we had a very enjoyable week in a very welcoming and very clean modern property.
