Georgian Townhouse in Central Perth - Minutes From Restaurants And Bars

Atholl Place is a listed Georgian crescent situated in the centre of Perth. It is fabulously located overlooking the North Inch park and River Tay. The Concert Hall, shops and restaurants of Perth are just a few minutes walk away. The house was built in 1797 during the reign of George III when Perth was leading the way in Scottish architecture. It was completely restored to its former glory in 2012 and now contains all modern conveniences, whilst still retaining its original period features. It has 4,500 square feet of living space over four floors. There are 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and an additional cloakroom. Sit down with the newspapers in the formal drawing room, check your emails in the study, settle down in front of TV in the family room or soak up the evening sun in the garden room. For more energetic activities, have a game of pool or table tennis. The large fitted kitchen leads directly into the dining room with ample seating for 12. The mature garden is fully enclosed.

About Nick and Sarah

Sarah and I moved to Scotland in 2010 after some 15 years in London. At first I continued to commute down south for a few days each week and Sarah worked in Dundee. We now have a young family, I work in Edinburgh and we are both loving the lifestyle up here.

My family are originally from Scotland and we wanted somewhere more relaxing to live and with access to the countryside. It has been a great move for us and we are really well settled in now.

Why Nick and Sarah chose Perthshire

We found Atholl Place in the spring of 2011. The house had been empty for a little over two years, had been poorly maintained and had fallen into disrepair.

But the building was magnificent with many original features still present and the location was amazing. How often do you find a 4,500 townhouse within minutes of all the shops and restaurants but with views of green fields and the river?

It took almost a year to complete the renovation. We have brought it up to 21st century standards but with a very sympathetic view to how it looked in the past. Where we could, we have repaired the period features and we have used period styles and furniture throughout. We hope you like the result!

What makes this house unique

The house is so convenient for all of Perth. There are two reserved parking spaces right outside the front door but you won't need a car if you are exploring the city as everything is just a few minutes away. But take a walk through the North Inch park and along the banks of the River Tay and you will quickly forget you are in a city at all.

If you don't plan on going out, practice your pool or table tennis in one of the two games rooms or just sit and relax - there are plenty of areas in the house to choose from.

The dining table is "board room" style and comfortably seats 12 making it ideal for those special occasions and family get togethers.

Perth itself is well located to explore the surrounding area. There is not much traffic up here and it is easy to get about.

We supply feather duvets, feather pillows and cotton bedding as standard. Outside: There are two reserved parking spaces on Atholl Place itself for exclusive use of our guests. The south-facing private walled garden has a patio, lawn, established trees and shrubs. It is fully enclosed and safe for children. Utility Room: A separate utility area has a washing machine, dryer and wine fridge. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels, bedding are heating included. Other: There are two games rooms - table tennis table and pool table. The library and the garden room are other areas to sit and relax in. There is a walled garden to the rear - fully enclosed and safe for children.

Brilliant Location

This property had everything our party required. The table tennis room was very popular as was the snooker, The kitchen/dining room was great. There was loads of space to spread out but we all gravitated to the Family Room in the evening - very comfortable. We did not use it but the outdoor area was lovely too.

We really enjoyed our stay at this Vacation Rental. The home itself was well appointed - what a magnificent selection of books! - and the amenities were just right.

The park and running loop across the street from this home was the piece-de-resistance of our stay in this home.

Amazing Holiday Home in Perth

What a great place. We had 7 guys stay for a week long golfing trip and this was a perfect location. Not only was there plenty of room for everyone but the house was amazing. The home is close (walking distance) to restaurants, pubs and shopping. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. Everything was great!!!

Amazing Holiday Home in Perth

What a wonderful property, this home had everything you could want. We had 7 guys golfing in the area and this was a great central location. The house is set up with plenty of room for everyone along with the central location with shopping, restaurants and pubs within walking distance. This home will not disappoint, as it was amazing.

Fabulous property close to the city centre

Lovely house in a nice area, close to the city centre. The photos don't do the property justice. The house is equipped with everything you will need during your stay. The owners went out of their way to assist us when we had some queries and could not have been more helpful. We will definitely be back in the future.

family get together in this fabulous house

This is a great house. Really well appointed with everything you could need for a group of people staying. Plenty space with a number of public rooms for people to make use of including the 2 games room. The large kitchen/ diner space is great and very much the hub of our weekend. Nice outside area too but didn't get the chance to use as it was February. Lovely outlook into the river yet 2 mins walk to the pedestrian shopping area. Perth is a great weekend spot with loads of bars and restaurants and interesting shops. Lovely countryside all around it. I would highly recommend this place and I would say that the pictures don't fully do it justice as it far exceeded our expectations.

Nick and Sarah are great to communicate with and the whole thing was completely stress free.

We'd all love to come back
