Melograno is a nice two floor apartment of 50 square meters, the other half of the old farmhouse once used to keep agricultural machinery. It has been recently restored with a garden area equipped with tables, chairs, a garden umbrella, sun loungers and a brick floor terrace which offers a wonderful view of the medieval famous village of S. Gimignano. If one wishes to have dinner in the open air a barbecue is also available. The apartment on the ground floor is composed of a large dining room with a corner-kitchen in Tuscan style and antique restored furniture, a sitting room with double divan-bed, from which one can enter onto the brick floored terrace and the garden. On the first floor is situated a pretty bathroom with shower-box and a comfortable double bedroom with its original characteristic windows, from which a magnificent view over S. Gimignano can be enjoyed.
"Podere degli Olivi" is a complex composed of an antique building and an old farmhouse which has been fully restored. From the recent restoration three pretty apartments have been obtained, all carefully and finely furnished in typical Tuscan style keeping the original characteristics of brick flooring and wooden beam ceilings." Immersed in the stillness of the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and secular cypress trees, Podere degli Olivi" is situated in a unique and enviable position only 1 kilometre away from S. Gimignano. The historical centre of the village is easily reachable by a 10 minutes walk along an old road that during the Middle Ages was famous because it was used by the Pilgrims that came from Roma. Along every step of this road one can enjoy the beauty of S. Gimignano with its magnificent towers. Each apartment is provided with a wall-safe, central heating and satellite -TV. At the guests' disposal there is also private parking.
A shared swimming pool (11 x 4 meters; depth: 1.20/1.90) will be available from May 2017

My name is Roberto, I am 52, I'm happily married and have a beautiful daughter 20 years. I was born in San Gimignano and when I got married I went to live in the countryside, the house left by my grandparents, in a great location about 800 meters from the city. With so many sacrifices, together with my wife and my brother, we have restored an old barn, where we made three nice apartments now rent for our guests.

When staying at our house you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside and you will enjoy an enchanting view of the towers of San Gimignano. Also you have the possibility to reach the city on foot, along a quiet scenic road and told by our guests, many of whom return to us for several years, the value for money is very good.

(in addition you will also have to pay a deposit which will be given back to you at the end of your stay)
If you cancel the reservation 30 days before your arrival, the account will be not refunded.
We prefer arrivals and departures during the day on Saturday. Arrival Saturday afternoon from 15.00 to 19.00 - departure at 10.00 on Saturday morning.
Notes on prices:
Weekly prices apartments from Saturday to Saturday for two people
Prices include the rent of the apartment, laundry for a week, final cleaning, water, electricity and gas. For each additional person must be paid a fee of € 20 per week.
The heating is in use, the cost is € 10 for day
Children under 12 years need not pay any extra.

Great place only 15mins walk in to the centre of San Gimignano. Spacious garden with fantastic views. Private parking. The hosts- Roberto and Nadia, made us feel very welcome. We had a great stay. An additional bonus in 2017 will be the addition of a swimming pool
Stunning property and location
We had a wonderful week in Melograno, which is a well equipped and very nicely furnished apartment with an extensive garden and stunning views towards San Gimignano. The air conditioning was especially welcome during the very warm and humid nights. It took us about 15 minutes at a leisurely pace to walk into town, on a wonderful path where at night we saw squirrels and fire flies. We spent a lot of time lounging in the garden and on the private terrace; the owners living in the house nearby were welcoming but not at all intrusive. We cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough; the guests in the neighbouring apartment were on their 5th return visit and we hope to come back soon too!

Here everything is an expression of life in touch with nature. One will find a special corner of Tuscany, beautiful to admire, to take a picture of and to remember and places to get to know or to discover. S. Gimignano “the town of the beautiful towers”, which takes its name from the canonised Bishop of Modena who saved the town from the Goti invasion, is situated in the province of Siena, 325 metres above sea level. S. Gimignano stands on the site of a small Etruscan settlement dating from the Helleneistic period (third to second century B. C). Thanks to the Via Francigena which runs through the town, it developed considerably in the surrounding with an increasing number of churches and monasteries. The road opened by the Longobards along the old Via Cassia and after controlled by the French became the main road to connect Rome with the North of Europe. In 1199 the town became a free commune, ridding itself of the domination of the Bishop of Volterra.
It’s also interesting to discover the old and suggestive medieval castles and the old abbeys which maintain intact the fashion of the past. Around 70/80 kilometres away one will find seaside towns such as Follonica and Castiglione della Pescaia and the Island of Elba or continuing towards the south one will arrive at the famous Argentario coast, with its famous places such as Porto Ercole and Porto S. Stefano from which one can take a ferry to the splendid Island of Giglio.
For the strategic position of S. Gimignano it’s easy to reach artistic towns such as Florence (45 km), Siena (25 km), Volterra (25 km), Pisa (60 km), Lucca (70 km), with their small & large museums and churches, where one is surrounded by beauty and perfection, discovering uncountable traces of art which developed greatly between the 14th & the 15th century. Also fascinating to visit are the touristic localities such as the upper part of Certaldo, Colle Val d’Elsa (10 km), Monteriggioni (15 km)
At about 800 meters from our hotel there is a supermarket. In the historical centre of San Gimignano there are n. 3 banks, an internet point, information centres for tourists and many bars, restaurants and shops of various kinds.
