You won't beat our views!! Our peaceful farmhouse sits on a hill with stunning panoramic views and is set in 3 ACRES of beautiful grounds and old cider apple orchard to relax and play in plus we're located just 10 minutes from the beautiful Lake Dathee with its lovely SAFE SANDY BEACH, 18-hole golf course, 7km cycle track, sailing and fishing.

We are surrounded by countryside and there are many great cycle and walking trails around us plus a quality hard tennis court in our local village. On site we have PONIES to brush and ride, supervised ARCHERY and you can collect fresh eggs from our chickens.

We specialise in family holidays but adults without children are equally welcome, and the farmhouse lends itself perfectly to two families visiting together. We are perfectly situated for cycling, walking, golf or fishing parties, or if you just want a relaxing holiday where you can enjoy the peace and quiet and embrace the gentle way of life in Normandy Hill Crest is perfect.

About Nigel Collins

We are Nigel and Cathy and the owners of Hill Crest Farmhouse at L'Engraisserie. We purchased this property after years of holidaying with our children in France and enjoying the relaxed way of life here. We love the location of L'Engraisserie - it is so peaceful with amazing views and wildlife that we never tire of whatever the season, yet we are very close to lovely, typical Normandy towns and lots of tourist spots and coastline.

We have made the farmhouse a comfortable ‘home from home’ for you to make your stay as relaxing as possible. We are always willing to accommodate any special requirements you may have and offer you 'little extras' to make your stay an enjoyable one.

We chose this part of France as we love the beauty of the rolling Normandy countryside, it’s temperate climate and easy access to and from the UK, plus there is so much to do in this area – we are never bored.

Hill Crest Farmhouse is in a peaceful and stunning location, with miles of cycle and riding tracks and Lake Dathee on our doorstep, yet with Vire and Sourdeval only a 10 minute drive away we are close to all amenities too.

As parents ourselves we know exactly what makes the difference when you holiday with children, so we have tried to provide everything you need in order to make your stay as enjoyable and as stress free as possible and allow you that little bit of extra space in your car!

We live in the adjoining property and will be pleased to give you any help and advice you require during your stay, yet respecting your privacy also.

We had a fabulous time at Hill Crest Farmhouse - this beautiful 'home from home' far surpassed our expectations - the wonderful playroom, all the little details (loved the Alice in Wonderland theme upstairs!), tasteful yet homely and comfortable decor and of course, the fantastic gardens, with Apple trees, splash pool, large trampoline, BBQ area and amazing views and so much space to run around in safely! Our 2 children (5 and7 years) were thrilled to have supervised pony rides and archery sessions and still now talk about (and miss) Boo the dog, a charming, very child-friendly pet to have around. The farmhouse is in the heart of the Normandy countryside, very peaceful but only an hour's drive to beautiful beaches and tourist sites. Within walking distance is a lovely trout farm where we spent a very emir able and fun afternoon.

Nigel and cathy, the onsite owners, have made this place what it is - a rare gem. They are wonderful hosts - kind, generous, helpful - never intrusive but always on hand for advice or just a friendly chat, as much or as little as the guest likes, and we were made to feel extremely welcome.

A £200 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking please.

Full balance of payment is due 8 weeks before the start of your holiday. This is not refundable unless we can relet the property - we aim to be fair.
£200 refundable security deposit also required with the final payment and will be refunded subject to no breakages or extra cleaning. We ask our guests to please leave the farmhouse as they found it.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday for weekly bookings, flexible otherwise. Guests are welcome to arrive from 4.00pm and we ask that you leave at 10.00am on the day of departure. There may be some flexibility out of high season - please enquire.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week (or night) in UK £ based on up to 5 people sharing. For 6+ people, there's a surcharge of £25 per week each person over the 5 to cover extra laundry, utilities and wear and tear on the property/owners! No charge for babies in cots.

DISCOUNTS* may be available for SHORT/LONG STAYS or LESS THAN 4 PEOPLE (*sorry not available during school holidays) - please enquire.

Notes on accommodation: For younger families we can provide cots, bedding, stair gates and other 'bits and bobs' available, so please let us know what you require when booking. The splash pool is located in the activity field which is separate and fenced off from the garden for safety. We have toy and activity boxes available for both indoor and outdoor play to save you having to bring these with you and an indoor playroom. We have garden toys and games to keep everyone occupied, the all important football net and trampoline, plus a selection of bikes, kayaks and windsurfers to borrow if you would like to. Please note - the 'twin' bedroom has a trundle bed, which is a standard single bed with low level bed under that can be pulled out. Due to the design of the room and the differing heights of the two beds, it is not possible to push these together to make a double bed. We respectfully ask that you do not smoke inside the farmhouse, thank you. Outside: With our 3 acres of orchards and grounds and an unbeatable range of things to do, there's plenty to occupy you and your family and space for the children to safely let off steam. There are also plenty of quiet areas for those of you who are looking to simply get away from it all, to take in the views, maybe paint, have a glass of local wine and enjoy some peace, quiet and relaxation. Facilities include: 12’ diameter above ground splash pool (Open May-September) – Ideal for cooling off, but if you want ‘big pool excitement’ Vire Aqua Park is just 10 minutes away Quality children’s play frame Trampoline with safety net Tree swings, garden games and activity field with football net, supervised archery, ponies BBQ Sun loungers and garden furniture Bikes, kayaks, windsurfer to borrow Owners on site.
