Beautiful property, fully enclosed grounds, great veranda, quiet setting but near Ceglie town (plenty of eateries from basic pizza to fine dining). Large and airy rooms. Elderly parents loved the bedroom with ensuite. Thanks.

We thoroughly recommend the above property. We stayed for a fortnight in August and found the property to be spacious and very clean. Good facilities and well equipped. Authentic countryside residence with olive, almond and fig trees.

Our group totalled nine in total with room for all comfortably; four adults and five children. We all loved the pool, outside shower and patio area, many an evening was spent barbequing and enjoying the warm evenings. Fantastic veranda with enough seating for our large party.

Local town of Ceglie Messapica great for food shopping and eating out.

Family Holiday in Puglia

  • 5 of 5

The villa was set amongst olive groves and although there were neighbours you felt as if you were in a rural retreat that was very private. The garden was pleasant, with different spots to relax under the trees, we all enjoyed picking the figs and almonds from the trees. The villa was comfortable and suited our family very well, the veranda provided a good chill out zone for the evenings and sitting around the pool during the day was very relaxing. Although small the pool provided plenty of opportunities for entertaining the youngsters.

The villa was clean with all the amenities we needed. Most importantly our hosts were very welcoming and helpful, they were always ready to help out and responded

The property was peaceful and secluded, ideal for escaping the busy town.

  • 4 of 5

The owner was very welcoming and gave us plenty of information to make the best of our stay. The property was clean and well maintained with plenty of outside space and seating. We enjoyed the festival in ceglie Messapica which included a procession and music. Alberobello was an amazing sight with all the Trulli worth a visit.

Family Holiday - August 2015

  • 5 of 5

I wouldn't normally review a stay or a trip but given the quality of holiday we have just had I felt I had too.

The place was excellent and just as shown and described on the website. The garden is great for kids with plenty of nooks to explore and they had a great time harvesting olives and almonds. The place itself is lovely and a great place to be and is well maintained and very clean and the welcome pack was comprehensive (a welcome change from so many).

The owners were fantastic. The information they provided prior to arrival was comprehensive and provided great reviews and suggestions on things to do and places to go. Also whenever we needed anything they provided first class support.

I would recommend this place to anybody as it is the fiirst time we have been made to feel like house guests and not paying guests.

If you have kids the beach at Lido Bizzarro is great and Fasanoland is absolutely brilliant (you can get on great rides without a queue!). Also the little 3 wheel taxi ride round the old centre of Ostuni is an absoluute must.

A great holiday once again this was our second visit. Hosts David &Andrew were great nothing was too much trouble. Weather was really good still in the late 20's during the day. We really enjoyed our trip to Matera and Alberobello David recommended a wine tasting here which was very good. We also took a trip to Lecce known as the Baroque town of the south absolutely beautiful with a cosmopolitan feel in the new part of the town and only an hour away from the Villa. Couldn't fault a thing and I'm sure we'll be back again next summer might try June Andrew says the weather is beautiful then.

Villa Cinzia Maria, Ceglie Messapica, Puglia

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks at the villa from 25 July to 8 August 2015. The villa itself is in excellent condition and is very well presented by the owners, David and Andrew. They are both a delight to meet and will do anything for you. They made our whole experience and very special and enjoyable experience. From the complimentary provisions on arrival, to the very helpful intelligence about places to visit and the practicalities of finding markets, banks etc. The beautiful villa is set in a very peaceful location which gives you the peace and tranquillity you want when on holiday, but yet it is within easy reach of Ceglie which is only a few minutes away by car. We would thoroughly recommend the villa to anyone looking for a great base from which to explore the wonders of Puglia and to sample the delights of the local food and wines. A great experience and we hope that future guests enjoy it as much as we did. John and Jane Sansone (and the boys)

Spacious and comfortably modern property

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for two weeks at Villa Cinzia. There were five of us for the first week and six in the second week. We were worried we would all be on top of each other but the Villa is spacious and segregated enough for privacy. The three bedrooms are airy and spacious with fantastic blackout shutters that made us oversleep on a couple of days! The living room and inside dining area is spacious and comfortable. The two bathrooms were sufficient for 6 people. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything you could need on a self-catering holiday. Outside the veranda was well furnished to cater for everyone and the BBQ area was top-notch and was more South African Braai style than BBQ (which is better, by the way!). The pool is a little small for swimming lengths but ample for a nice cool-off from the afternoon heat. I believe the owners are planning on putting in a larger pool for next season.

The location is about 10 minutes from Ceglie, but what seems at first to be an arduous drive soon becomes routine and once on the main road you are 2 minutes from the center of Ceglie. We would have given the property 5 Stars but felt it lost a star for the pool size which, as I said, was not a big issue really and it should be resolved by next season. We like to jog and walk, so the area is perfect for that as it is quiet with little vehicular traffic and plenty of little lanes and roads to explore. But I recommend jogging early in the morning as it gets hot after about 9am. Overall, this is an excellent rental property. Any issues or technical problems we had were seen to immediately by the owners themselves and their handymen were reliable enough for Italians (no offence, love the Italian people!) It is excellent value for money. We would highly recommend this property to families small or large or small groups of friends. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the owners personally for a most pleasant stay. Peter & Tammy, Ireland.

Owner's Response: We are really pleased with the excellent feedback received about Villa Cinzia Maria thank you. We pride ourselves on offering excellent service, facilities and always go that extra mile to ensure guests have the best holiday possible which we achieved on this occasion meeting your expectations. We were disappointed with the 4 star review having lost one star due to the size of the pool. Our advert clearly states that the pool is 5m x 3m ideal for playing, relaxing and cooling off in. Again thank you for your positive feedback.

From the Owner

The area is surprisingly green and very heavily wooded with small hill top towns all with their own character. Outside of August when the Italians are on holiday, the area is largely unspoilt and you won't find a McDonalds or Starbucks! The locals are incredibly helpful and have that precious commodity - time - to help you. Here the Italians celebrate their local saints during August and each town hosts a variety of entertainers local and international throughout the month. It feels different and you will experience a Southern European way of life and you are only 45 minutes from Brindisi airport.

Activity and Interests

There are many public and private beaches within a 15 minute drive and we can give you the information of where to go depending on what you like. Sailing and wind surfing are available on the Adriatic coast - 30 minutes distance.

The nearest airports are Brindisi and Bari which are approximately a 45-minute and a 1 hour 10 minute drive away respectively. Ryanair flies daily to both to Brindisi and Bari airports from London Stansted airport.

British Airways flies to Bari from Gatwick from late March to late October. Other airlines also fly from a number of UK airports to Brindisi and Bari but usually via Rome or Milan.

A car is essential and car hire is available at both airports and can usually be booked on line. 10 minutes drive to the nearest town.
