About Adrienne Cooke

We are a working couple in our late 50's, and really enjoy being here to wind down and recharge our batteries, the locals are so friendly and willing to help, we have been here since 2004 and feel part of Sardinia. Now we have become grandparents so can't wait to take him swimming on the beach with the rest of the families.

Adrienne Cooke purchased this villa in 2004

Why Adrienne Cooke chose Portobello di Gallura

Fantastic sea views and swimming, watching the yachts and fishing boats sail past, this private estate is very well established and if you want company the bar and restaurants at the centre are very well managed, supermarket open all year round. But if you want to be on your own nobody comes and bothers you.

What makes this villa unique

The choice of two airports, Alghero and Olbia which are both one and half hours away, definitely need a car, and stop at one of the passing supermarkets on the way to the house is a good idea, a lot of historic places to visit.

Secluded villa situated on rocky coastline

  • 5 of 5

Nicely designed split level layout with views of the coast and Corsica beyond. Well equipped villa with three bedrooms, each with a bath/shower room. Secluded and private terraces are ideal for enjoying Sardinian sunshine and sunsets. Short drive takes you to some fantastic sandy beaches. Handy little shop and nice restaurant located within this gated community. Owner is very friendly and always happy to assist with enquiries, etc. Would definitely return!

Wonderful villa in spectacular setting

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at this villa several times and we love it. The location is spectacular, with stunning views across the Mediterranean to Corsica. Supper on the terrace, watching the sun sink into the sea is one of our greatest pleasures. It is incredibly peaceful here and we find it the perfect place to unwind with family and friends. The layout of the villa is great if you are sharing with friends as the bedrooms (with en-suite bathrooms) are separated by the large living room. The villa's many terraces also mean that you can always find a sunny or if you prefer shady spot. Portobello itself is very secluded and chic with a great restaurant and bar. And the nearby beaches are, in our opinion, some of the most beautiful in the world with their crystal-clear aquamarine waters.

This is a pretty villa in a wonderful location with amazing views of the Sardinian coastline. There is a large and comfortable sitting and dining area inside and outdoors there are terraces on three sides as well as the roof so you can always find a spot in the sun or the shade to relax. The outside shower was an unexpected joy!

A short walk along shrub-bordered paths takes you to a sandy beach or to the well-stocked shop and friendly bar and restaurant. We had a lovely holiday and would certainly hope to return.

Superb Location

  • 5 of 5

What I love most about this beautiful house is the location - very secluded, a few minutes walk from the restaurant & shop and a stones throw from the sea - you wake up in the morning to the gentle sound of the waves lapping against the shore. Even in high Summer you can find a secluded spot by the sea - but if you mood is more lively the resort centre is nearby for the lovely bar, restaurant, tennis, etc.

The house itself if nicely presented and the way it is designed means you can find a sunny - or shady - terrace all day. Recommended.

A real getaway.

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time in sardinia. The villa was perfect..comfortable and really user friendly. It was really peaceful with such gorgeous views and only a few minutes walk from a small beach cove where the water was beautifully clear. The shop again was a minute or two walk and all the basics were stocked. So we didn't have to drive anywhere if we didn't feel like it....heaven. We found wi fi in the centre where we often stopped for a morning coffee. It was great for everyone to have UK TV for when we wanted to have a bit of downtime. A great holiday and definitely a place to go back to.

About Portobello

The exclusive Private Residential Park of Portobello di Gallura is situated on the North-West coast of Sardinia, 20 km from S.Teresa di Gallura. A Natural Park of approximately 100 hectors and 4 km of coast, beaches and small coves, with two 24 hrs guarded entrances, open all year with a small supermarket run by Tonino for the exclusive use of the residents of the Park, and a small private harbour and Club, which over the last two years has improved dramatically, in August live classical music, concerts, fireworks, the new management team have really pulled their finger out, a new beach bar for the younger generation. A fantastic venue for weddings or birthdays which are all catered for, a small chapel to walk to about half an hour away overlooking the bay of Vignola, magical.

The Park was planned and developed by renowned professionals with full respect for nature, privacy and aesthetic: all villas are on one level and are well integrated with the surrounding lush vegetation, this means that the privacy of each home is preserved. The houses are all exclusive independent villas and are equipped with every comfort for living by the sea in any season.

• The villa has access to tennis courts, beach, small private marina, supermarket selling freshly made produce and a restaurant / bar within the private park.

The park is surrounded by Sardinian farmhouses and farm land, from where you can buy fresh and, of course organic, traditional local produce.
