About yolanda de glanville

I live in Bath with my husband and 3 boys. I am a teacher and have spent many summers in Devon where we have family and enjoy the beaches and walks.

yolanda de glanville purchased this house in 2000

Why yolanda de glanville chose South Hams

We bought Palm Cottage because we love to get away and be by the sea. We have only recently (April 2013) began to rent it after refurbishment. It is only a couple of hours from our home town. It is a beautiful area with many walks and wonderful pubs nearby.

What makes this house unique

We are very close to Blackpool Sands Blue Flag beach and Dartmouth. The village we are in has plenty of amenities and there are many coastal walks nearby. The cottage ground floor has been recently refurbished with a woodstove and underfloor heating. The cottage is particularly suitable for children with toys, games and a good selection of dvds.

"We had a lovely time in Palm Cottage. It was great for our 2 boys with games and puzzles for them to do and plenty of crabbing in Dartmouth"

"Versatile accommodation meant we were able to fit in grandparents and children for our summer stay in Devon. A fantastic beach nearby and lots of activities to entertain the kids."

"We spent a week walking and visiting pubs in the area. The cottage was a great base and provided us with a cosy fire each evening."

" Beautiful area of the South Hams. We loved it! We'll be back"

"What a lovely cottage. It was clean, homely but chic at the same time"

A lovely location and deceivingly large cottage. Kitchen could have been a little better equipped.

  • 3 of 5

Upstairs bathroom needed a little updating. However we had a lovely holiday. Location made it easy to get to Dartmouth especially to enjoy the regatta. The garden we never used as we didn't feel it was suitable to sit in and the garden furniture needed replacing.

A perfect base for exploring a fabulous area

  • 5 of 5

This property offers lots of room and is well equipped for a family with children of all ages. We enjoyed a lovely four night stay and would certainly stay there again. The owner was very professional with a small hiccup when we first arrived.

Fab cottage in a super location.

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our break in Cosy Palm Cottage. It was clean, pretty, well equipped and very relaxing. The flexible layout worked very well for two families staying together for a short break. It's in a super location, we loved being able to walk to the nearby beach and it was a real bonus being a ten minute drive to beautiful Dartmouth. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely place for a family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We spent four nights after Easter at Palm Cottage and explored the local area. My first impression of the cottage was that it was much larger than I was expecting, I could have brought a whole bunch of children with me as the children's room at the top of the house could have slept four or five! The double room which my parents shared looked absolutely gorgeous, I was very jealous! The sitting room was very comfy, I liked the underfloor heating and the kitchen was very well appointed. The cottage was very clean and tidy and it was nice that there were toys and games which my children could use. Although the weather was a bit cold when we stayed we felt cosy in the cottage. It was easy to unload outside the cottage and then move the car up to the parking area.

There is plenty to do in the local area, the children enjoyed the ferries and the steam train. We walked to Blackpool Sands on the first evening but it was not exactly "beach weather"! The local shop is very handy and there are plenty of supermarkets in Dartmouth. Stoke Flemming is a pretty village and there are plenty of walks straight from the cottage.

I would recommend Palm Cottage to any other family looking for a special place to stay in the area, we will remember our holiday for years to come.
