With a private paved approach to your own front door, this spacious two double bedroom two bathroom apartment, is bordered by large and sunny terrace on its complete south side. Stylishly decorated, and lavishly equipped. With a stunning hillside location, this flat has spectacular sea and mountain views. On a clear day you can see the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada, as well as the Riff mountains of Africa. The shared pool is gorgeous, and secluded, and depending upon the season, often you will be the only people using it. There are restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The shops and restaurants and beach at Elviria is a 6 minute drive away, and Marbella is around 20 minutes from the apartment. With marble floors throughout, WiFi and internet TV, this feels more like home than a standard rental apartment. There are wonderful walks you can take through the surrounding unspoilt hills, numerous golf courses in the close vicinity, and tennis club onsite. We do not allow smoking in this apartment.

About the Owner
We have two apartments in Marbella. at La Mairena (S24133) and at Torre Real (S24782). They are both owned by Paul and Jane Abadjian, who are brother and sister. Both have been furnished and specified as homes, not merely as places to rent out, so the fixtures and fittings tend to be quite stylish and luxurious.
Paul lives in west Dorset with wife Fiona, two dogs and a small herd of Alpacas! They also offer a part of this property for holiday lets (Alpaca Cottage E 15146) Paul has enjoyed collecting classic Jaguars for more years than he cares to remember, and he and Fiona have enjoyed driving them in Russia, Argentina, Australia and Tasmania.

Another enjoyable stay in La Mairena
It was a pleasure to return to this beautiful apartment. I had missed the superb location and stunning views. Thanks again to Rosa, the apartment was immaculate and welcoming and I immediately felt at home and able to enjoy a wonderful two weeks in the sun.
High above the sea, but close enough to the beach
Spacious holiday flat with covered an uncovered terrace (sun and shadow as desired) located in a very nice andalusian style apartment complex with phantastic views ( sea and mountains). Nothing was missed besides a good orange press. Very comfortable beds and bedding.

Our visit to La Mairena was our first experience of a self-catering holiday for 15 years. We were joined (at various times during our stay) by our boys with their girlfriends.
It couldn’t have been better and we will not have our holidays in a hotel again.
The listing description cannot be faulted as to location, layout, facilities etc. The flat was, put simply, ‘home from home’. The 2 bedrooms are a good size, the bathrooms are well appointed, the living/dining room is spacious and there is plenty of room on the terrace for everyone to eat and sunbathe.
Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained.
Both the owner and the on-site rep provided excellent customer service. We were provided with instructions as to how everything in the flat ‘worked’ and where we might like to sample the local restaurants, sights and attractions.
Although the pool is a communal one, when we were there, it was not crowded.
The other residents could not be regarded as ‘Club 18-30 party goers’ so it was all very civilised.
You do need a car to get the best out of La Mairena. Although there are nice bars and restaurants within walking distance, when you need to buy food you have a 7km trip to the excellent supermarket at the bottom of the hill. The flat is a short car journey from Marbella and Puerto Banus where you can party, drink and eat.
We suggest you hire a car from a company who will meet you at the airport with your car on your arrival. We used Yellow Car Hire.
We would recommend La Mairena to anybody who wants some peace and quiet and who might also wish to sample some superb cafes and restaurants in a long-established and civilised part of Spain.
24 La Mairena.
We thought the property was great. It was very clean, comfortable and well equipped and we couldn't fault it ( not that we were trying!). Rosa Maria was very helpful also.We were treated to lovely weather as well which made it even better. We would certainly recommend it to friends. There was easy access to some of the White villages which of course made the stay even more interesting.
Peaceful, spacious apartment
This is a lovely apartment within a gated community 8km up the hill from Elviria with a delightful balcony from which you can sit in a morning and watch the sun rise out of the sea. Being away from the crowd it is peaceful and relaxing. The apartment is modern spacious, comfortable and fully equipped, very clean and well presented. The welcome from Rosa Maria was warm and nothing was too much trouble. In short we were very happy with our choice.
We have been holidaying on and off at La Mairena for over ten years, it is a very peaceful and beautiful spot. This year we tried Paul's apartment which was the best yet, very cosy, nicely decorated, with all the amenities of home. It can be bit of a mine field finding a nice apartment to spend the valuable days off we have, but can I assure my fellow traveller that this place is a gem.

“The location of this apartment is the best! It is in the hills above Elviria-only 6 minutes drive to the coast road, but a world away in terms of quiet tranquility. It has spectacular views down to the sea, and you can also walk in the mountains from there without driving. The pool is gorgeous, and you will often have it to yourself, and the beach is just 10 minutes away. It is a larger apartment than the majority of two bedroom apartments in the vicinity, and after viewing numerous other places first, we agreed to buy it within an hour of first seeing it! That says it all.”
Activity and Interests
The closest beach is Elviria, which takes around 7 minutes driving. The large sandy beach runs for many miles in each direction, and there are numerous small beach restaurants and bars to enliven your visit. The world famous Nikki Beach is at this location, just by the Don Carlos hotel and offers a stylish option for sun bathing and dining
The nearest airport is Malaga, at around 45kms/40 minutes drive from the apartment. It is best to hire a car at the airport, and use it during your stay, as taxis will cost more and be less convenient.
Marbella is around 20 minutes drive west from the apartment. La Mairena is well situated to explore white villages of Andalucia and the famous historic town of Ronda, perched on a high plateau (2500 ft above sea level), all are within easy driving distance. Seville, Granada and Gibraltar can each be reached within 2/3 hours. In addition other popular locations such as Puerto Banus, Benahavis and Mijas are a short drive away.
There is a restaurant and a restaurant/bar located at La Mairena within 2 or 3 minutes walk. At the bottom of the hill (7 minutes drive)there is the small urbanisation of Eliviria which has a wide range of restaurants and shops, including two supermarkets, banks etc. Beyond this is the beach, with its restaurants, as well as the Don Carlos hotel with its own restaurants, bars, and stunning gardens.
Just 20 minutes away is Marbella, with its glorious old town, and world class selection, of shops, bars, and eateries.

- Notes on accommodation: A car is advisable to make the most of your holiday at this apartment. Because of the spectacular hillside location, the drive to and from La Mairena involves 6 or 7 minutes of curving roads. Whilst this adds to many peoples enjoyment of this holiday spot, because it affords glorious views, and a 'get away from it all' feeling, the winding nature of the approach road may not suit everyone. Outside: There is a generously- sized terrace which borders the south side of the apartment. One portion of this is covered, and there is a dining table and chairs for al fresco dining. There are quality sun loungers with detachable cushions. La Mairena is an award-winning development in the rural Spanish style with very pretty landscaped gardens leading to a large kidney-shaped communal infinity pool with community owned sun loungers which may be used by guests. The wonderful hillside and sea views may be enjoyed from the swimming pool as well as the apartment. Utility Room: Utility area as part of kitchen houses new washing machine, and generous storage for driers etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen provided. Everything cleaned and laundered before arrival and after departure. Interim cleaning by arrangement.
