Beautifully renovated Gite in lovely location

  • 5 of 5

The house was lovely, providing superb space in a perfect location for exploring the Pyrenees. The interior of the house is immaculately presented and well equipped for self catering. Paul and Zoe were fabulous and made sure we had everything we needed. Perfect holiday!

Lovely clean barn with pool

  • 5 of 5

The property was very clean and well maintained .Paul and Zoe were very helpful giving recommendations for places to visit and lending maps. Our 2 boys loved the small pool and we spent a couple days just relaxing at the gite as we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather. The surrounding countryside is very green and worth exploring and we went into the Pyrenees several times for some amazing walks and beautiful scenery.

Brilliant & enjoyable retreat

  • 4 of 5

We Just loved it!

Paul and Zoe have worked wonders with this property. It presents as a converted French building with lovely wooden floors and old timbers. It is a modern home with all the comforts but with character. Upstairs the original roof timbers add real character and downstairs there is a very spacious lounge with a modern kitchen to enjoy your French cuisine.

For us it was beautifully tucked away in the country yet not far from shops and in a half an hour by car you are into the amazing Pyrenees which was the main reason for our visit to the area.

The only lack was perhaps a food mixer, scales etc, but it didn't detract from our holiday.

Paul & Zoe were a lovely couple who were always accommodating and helpful and if we return to the area we would stay again.

Excellent Value for Money and a Warm Welcome.

  • 4 of 5

As a solo traveler I booked Zoe and Paul's gite as a base to cycle the famous cols of the Pyrenees. I wanted my own space and was attracted by the prospect of a dip in a pool after a long ride. The gite was spotlessly clean and Paul's handiwork as a carpenter was evident throughout. The gite is adjacent to Zoe & Paul's house but its entrance faces away, which ensures privacy. They were very respectful of my space and seclusion but invited me onto their veranda on several evenings for drinks. Zoe and Paul are very genuine people; I have warm memories of my stay and have kept in touch with them since. In summary, if you are looking for a good value-for-money base from which to explore this region of France, Zoe and Paul's gite is an excellent choice.

Cosy Christmas Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We spent an 8 night holiday here over Christmas and New Year. It was cosy and warm with the fire roaring in the wood burning stove and we could also sit outside in the sun all morning and afternoon on the warmer days. Each morning we woke up to a view from the bedroom of sleepy cows munching the grass in the neighbouring field and idyllic views of the snow-capped mountains. As well as driving only an hour to fantastic walks in the mountains, we were able to go for local walks in the woods and small country roads with amazing views of the Pyrenees. Paul and Zoe made us feel very welcome and as it was Christmas they put up a little Christmas tree and a some Christmas decorations, and gave us a card and present of a bottle of wine – so thoughtful. The property was clean and comfortable and Paul and Zoe had done an amazing job on renovating it from an old barn with so much attention to detail.

We will visit again

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 8 days at Zoe and Paul's Gite at the end of September /beginning October. It was an easy drive from Toulouse airport deep in the lovely countryside but close to the local towns of Montrejeau and Lannemazan with good markets on Monday and Wednesday respectively...very handy. The gite is very good value; clean, comfortable and located on the edge of the sleepy village of Arne. Paul and Zoe have done a fantastic job in renovating the property which is beautiful. This is a good place to visit the surrounding area and for visiting the mountains. Zoe and Paul are very welcoming, generous and helpful. We would recommend this place to all who like the quiet of the countryside and enjoy exploring rural France. Gordon and Moira.
