Updated: 11-Nov-2016
Cottage in Great Doward, Whitchurch, Herefordshire, England

The Apple Store is a self contained annexe to 'Old Kiln House', which is an 18th century farmhouse and cider orchard. Situated on 'Great Doward, a hill of mixed farm and woodland set in the lower Wye Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the property has extensive views across the Wye Valley. Numerous excellent walks begin right from the doorstep and King Arthur's Cave can be seen and easily visited from the Apple Store. Cosy, peaceful getaway

  • 5 of 5

The Apple Store is a perfect base for a walking holiday in the beautiful Symonds Yat / Forest of Dean areas. We took our Labrador for 5 days and the cottage was lovely, cosy and homely . A well-equipped, tiled floored kitchen with a large enough space for a dog bed. Master bedroom was very comfortable with plenty of warm bedding and nice soft towels in the en-suite. Garden area outside is enclosed so safe for dogs. Sarah and Dom are very nice and informative about the area. Would definitely recommend this cottage - their visitor's book speaks for itself!

Comfy cottage in a good location

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a week's stay at The Apple Store, and had a lovely family break. The cottage is comfortable (especially the beds - so much so that we overslept on our last day!) with a well equipped kitchen enabling you to cook a decent meal should you want to. Location is ideal for local walks, including to Symonds Yat, and a short drive to towns and local sights, activities etc. The children have asked when we can return.

This was a lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the world. It was clean and comfortable and had everything that we needed. There were numerous walks in the area and plenty to do. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to friends or family.
