About Anne Roots

I have lived in Dorset most of my life and actually lived at Nutley Farm as a child. I was lucky enough to purchase the farm back in the year 2000. Since then it has become my mission to build and improve what had become an unloved derelict site. Each year I try to add new benefits and improvements. It is hoped the property will now pass through more generations of the family.

Anne Roots purchased this cottage in 2000

Why Anne Roots chose Dorchester

Because of its unique situation and and the ability to be surrounded by wonderful wildlife and our friendly animals.

Neat, comfy, beautiful location, excellent host

  • 4 of 5

Small but incredibly well provisioned with a shower to die for. Lovely location, central for coast and inland tourist traps (Moreton, Cerna Abbas to name a couple). Anne was a superb host, so helpful, accommodating and such an interesting person to chat to! The carriage ride was great fun, a must even in wet weather ;-)

Recommend the Countryman Inn for pub grub and a free pool table, good kids play area too. Visit The Kings Arms in Stoborough for a quality pub meal, Wareham has a great little recreational ground for the kids too.

Ringstead Bay a lovely pebbly beach with calm waters for youngsters to play in.

Tank Museum - AMAZING but don't go on a rainy day as it gets packed. Go when the sun is out and enjoy the cool indoors!

We had a great time as a family staying at Nutley Farm. Our girls enjoyed their time on the Farm, seeing the animals etc and the area has plenty to see and do.

We have just returned from an extremely relaxing weeks holiday at Nutley Farm. We stayed in Willow Cottage, which was very comfortable with a lovely private garden. Lovely walks around the farm and within a couple of miles of Durdle door. The farm have carriage rides available which took us through the bluebell woods, stunning! We walked the alpacas and cuddled the sheep! The owner, Anne, is a lovely lady, so helpful and always on hand, we will definitely be back!

Comfortable cottage in rural Dorset

  • 4 of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quiet rural area.

The cottage was well fitted but could have better lighting in the kitchen.

Anne Roots the owner was very helpful and gave us an exciting carriage ride around the local countryside.

I would definitely recommend this property
