About the Owner

My parents and grandparents were born and bred in this historical town of Llantrisant and we live locally with our two sons. Having grown up in the area we are familiar with all it has to offer and the surrounding areas.

Friendly and welcoming service from the owner. Excellent communication and genuine wish for guests to have an enjoyable stay. The property was well situated for getting out and about and has been refurbished to a high standard. We loved our stay and hope to return again at some point in the future.

Lovely Cottage for visiting Cardiff and area

  • 4 of 5

This is a lovely little cottage located about 15 minutes outside of Cardiff and an easy drive as well to Brecon Beacons for those who like to hike. Steve was a pleasure to deal with and made check-in and check-out very easy. The second bedroom with bunk beds is perfect for children (or a squeeze for adults) and the master bedroom is very comfortable. We had a lovely stay and the local community is very friendly with a very good pub a 2 minute walk away. There is parking outside the cottage but there is also a free community parking lot across the street which we found more convenient with our larger rental vehicle. I would recommend this cottage for anyone planning on visiting Cardiff or south Wales but a vehicle is necessary.

Beautiful cottage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was easy to find with the postcode the owner gave us. We loved the property and the gorgeous view, especially the farm opposite.

Only surprise was that paying for electric and gas weren't included in the original price. But only about £20 for 6days.

Very kind of the owner to post our coats to us after leaving them in a cupboard.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your kind review and leaving the cottage in impeccable condition, it's very much appreciated. We're very happy that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay. With regards to the gas and electric, it is mentioned clearly in our advert. We hope to see you again in the future Kind regards

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a lovely stay in this charming and spotlessly clean cottage! Location is brilliant, lovely pubs and restaurants locally and only a short train ride away from Cardiff.

The free car park just a few metres away from the cottage was perfect. We very much enjoyed a day in the Brecon Beacons which is just a short drive away.

Would definitely stay again!

Perfect for us.

  • 5 of 5

Cottage was tastefully decorated and well appointed. Had everything we needed. Good position close to centre of village with parking outside.Village was delightful with numerous gift shops and an excellent local butcher offering pulled pork rolls on a Saturday. Delicious.

Food in The Bear was great and 2 other pubs welcoming. Getting into Cardiff was easy and quick from nearby Pont Y Clud.

We used the cottage as a base to go to the rugby and it worked out exceptionally well. A pleasant change from staying in the city. Would definitely recommend the cottage and hope to book again.

a weel located and cosy cottage

  • 4 of 5

we had a wonderful stay with lovely bedrooms both for the parents and the children .... within reach of major sites to visit and the cottage was clean and tidy at our arrival. We didn't have the opportunity to meet the owner but all the services were provided regarding electricity and gas. We recommend this cottage to anybody who would like to visit Cardiff or the Beacon Brecon.

The Llantrisant area

Llantrisant is known for its pub culture with a number of venues including The New Inn, the Wheatsheaf and the Cross Keys Hotel. Formerly in the Bull Ring was the Rock and Fountain pub, which became the home of the original Llantrisant Workingmen's Club founded in May 1953 by Seth Morgan, Freeman of Llantrisant.

The focal point of the town is the Bull Ring, a commercial square in the centre of the town that was used for bull-baiting, until it was disallowed in 1827 due to unruly crowds. The square contains a statue of Dr William Price a pioneer of cremation.

1KM away is the Talbot Green shopping park with a range of shops and food outlets including Marks & Spencers, Starbucks & Pizza Hut.
