Enchanting Villa With Private Swimming Pool Close To Rome

Updated: 05-Dec-2016
Villa in Tarano, Nr. Rieti, North of Rome, Italy - Beautiful Location With Stunning Views Of The Surrounding Sabina Hills

CalaSabina is a beautiful villa with private swimming pool close to Rome. The property is set about 40 Km north of Rome in the beautiful Sabina hills. The location is ideal to spend your time relaxing in a beautiful environment allowing you to visit all the interesting towns close by as it is well connected to the A1 Highway and Rome is easy to reach. CalaSabina is furnished in a classical style, the bedrooms have high quality beds, the bathrooms are beautiful and spacious and the kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances. The bedrooms all have aircondition and high speed internet is available on the premises. The gardens around the house provide many corners to relax in the sun and from the beautiful swimming pool you can enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The house can accommodate from 4 o 8 people as we can add a third bedin one of the double rooms. Please do not hesitate to ask us more about the accommodation rates and special offers. We have an interesting calendar of cooking lessons so we suggest you to visit our site calasabinatarano for more details."La Sabina" starts from the suburbs of Rome and extends from the left bank of the Tiber River till the Sabine Mountains. The typical landscape is dotted with hills covered with olive groves, lush green valleys and mountains with extensive forests of oak and beech trees.Almost all the hills are dominated by medieval villages, castles and ancient monasteries. Wherever you are, you have the feeling that time passes slower, closer to the rythms of nature and its seasonal cycles. The hilly topography of the area encourages the production of olive oil, which is of excellent quality.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Truly a wonderful stay in Calasabina! All the way from the greetings by Nicola the owner, until the very last day when the sun shined over the beautiful surroundings.

The house is perfect - well equipped with everything you need. Although a very small kitchen, you still had everything you could ask for, including a much appreciated Nespresso-machine!

The pool is excellent - large, superbly cleaned as well as the surrounding garden. Lots of chairs and tables where you could eat breakfast, lunch, dinner.

The proximity to Rome is perfect - within an hour you are in the capital of Italy. But still you can leave and go back into the countryside to relax at Calasabina. We (a family of 5 - children aged 5, 7 & 10) had an amazing holiday, we stayed in Nicola's beautiful villa for approx 2 weeks , which had everything you could need on a self-catering holiday... and more! The villa itself is very spacious, well furnished and equipped, we cooked most nights and ate out on the veranda which the boys loved doing. Our one regret is that unfortunately due to the weather we did not get a chance to cook our pizzas in the wood-burning oven... oh well, I guess we will have to come back to do that!! From our late arrival to our very early departure nothing was too much trouble for Nicola, who helped us out with things from train tickets in to Rome, locating the shops to borrowing a cup of flour... she is the perfect host. Thank you Nicola!!

We had a wonderful time with wonderful hosts, the house and grounds are magnificent and the pool is tops ! Location can't be beaten! Book this place now

"An excellent getaway place with a lot of cultural sites around"

We stayed in the property with 5 people (including 2 young children). We got in love with the place right away. Our children felt immediately at home at the place and were crazy about the swimming pool and the short trips to some small old villages around. The property is located in a very picturesque place on the hills full of olive trees and is owned b a charming lady. It is in an excellent state and very comfortable. We recommend the place especially to those who are interested in the Italian cuisine and cooking in general.

Lovely villa in a beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

The villa is in a superb position with amazing views and a delightful pool. We all had a lovely relaxing holiday and managed trips to Rome twice, Assisi, (bit of an arduous drive) and the wonderful Marmore waterfalls. Nicola was a great host and very helpful in recommending places to go and visit or restaurants to try.

Beautiful and welcoming stay

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at this property and never wanted to leave.

The views are amazing day and night.

The hosts made us welcome and put on the greatest pizza evening for us. The pizzas were delicious.

The pool was great and managed to spend our whole week using it. Great stereo pool side which is very loud and Bluetooth so easy to listen to your music whilst chilling.

All in all a top holiday and I would love to return again one summer.

Thanks for helping to make a great holiday Nicola and Andrea .

From the Owner

CalaSabina was bought by my family in 1997 as it was the perfect place easy to reach from Rome to unwind after a long working week. It is quiet without being lonely, the surrounding countryside is absolutely gorgeous, and having the A1 close brings everything within easy reach. Since it has been made into a holiday home we made some changes to the interiors and gardens to make it even more beautiful and comfortable, which is confirmed by all the guests who stayed with us.

Cooking classes

Cala Sabina is the ideal place to learn how to make wonderful Italian dishes. During the day you spend your time relaxing besides the swimming pool or visit the surroundings and in the afternoon you transfer to our cooking studio. We have a large kitchen with all state of the art utensils and a pergola outside on a splendid terrace where we cook during the warm weather. We will show you how to make real pizza in a brick oven, or how to make homemade pasta for lasagne, ravioli or tortellini. We have a Personal Chef available for special occasions or as resident chef if you wish to relax and leave it upon him/her to organize your meals.

If you wish to plan a trip to the beach, the nearest ones are those around the Rome Area, Ostia or Fregene, which will take about one hour by car. Up north towards the Etruscan area of Tarquinia you will find less crowded beaches which will take about 1.30 minutes to reach and you can enjoy the beautiful roads and views of ruins crossing the wheat fields towards the beaches.

Cala Sabina is close to Rome, well connected to the A1 Highway which travels from Northern to Southern Italy.

Regular trains run from the Rome Tiburtina station to Stimigliano which is only 5 minutes by car from Cala Sabina. The same trains connect to the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport of Rome in Fiumicino. A car is essential, we recommend you rent it at the airport.

The nearest village is at 1,5km as well as the local supermarket, a choice of pizzerias and restaurant range from 2 to 4 km.

Further Details:

Restaurants, supermarkets, chemist, post offices, banks, churches and hairdressers are to be found in the villages close by. If you want to go for a shopping trip this can be done in the Ponzano Soratte Fashion Outlet close to the A1.
