Why the owner chose a property in Northumberland

We love Northumberland because of the fantastic coastline and beautiful hills and moors closeby. The area is easily accessible but remains unspoilt and quiet. There are plenty of activities for all ages and interests .

Unique benefits of the property

The property is located on a quiet road which is a cycle route, it backs onto a small nature reserve and there is a pretty enclosed garden with gated decking overlooking the beck. A number of good beaches are 5 minutes away by car, fantastic for bird watchers including the Farne Islands .

Fabulous House in quiet location

  • 5 of 5

Great home providing excellent accommodation for our party of 5 adults. The house is light and there is plenty of space for all guests. The kitchen is so well equipped that it feels like a home rather than a rental cottage. It was lovely to have the log burner heating us on our return from outside and the central heating worked quickly to ensure we were comfortable throughout the house. Would love to stay again!!

Fabulous house, wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

This house is an absolute gem, just fabulous, in a wonderful location to boot, close to the beautiful beaches and scenery. The house itself is light, spacious, comfortable and has everything you ever need for your stay. The welcome pack was a lovely touch too. There is such a feeling of space and relaxation, it felt like a home away from home and our week passed far too quickly. If you are looking to be close to beaches and comfort for all the family, stay here, you won't go wrong. Thank you for a wonderful week and we look forward to return.

We found treasure!

  • 5 of 5

The photos do not really do this incredibly comfortable home justice. We decided last minute to take our family away for the Easter break and chanced upon this home. With five children and two adults we were looking for space!

This house has everything that a family could wish for.

From the wonderful babbling brook at the end of the garden that you can sit over on the purpose built patio drinking your morning cuppa listening to the birds and to the flow of water or, later, sipping a lovely glass of refreshment whilst watching the children explore the woods directly opposite, is perfect.

The fully stocked games cupboard and bookshelves that have all kinds of really well thought through interesting reads for ALL the family. We started a game of Yorkshire Monopoly that last four days!!!!

The kitchen is superbly equipped and there's plenty of glasses, cups, bowls etc so the children can, as they so often do, take a clean one without mum having to wash up every 5 mins! The dining table extends to accommodate ten so no fighting for space or a place and the front room has two really comfy sofas with a wood burner that we curled up to on a night.

One of the best parts for our boys was they had their own private pad at the top of the house which has an ensuite AND a great snug room equipped with Playstation, books and games so we hardly saw them. They felt so independent!

The house is 10mins from Beadnell beach where we went crabbing and 20mins from Seahouses where we walked along the beach to Bamburgh. Although the weather wasn't kind to us it really didn't matter because we truly came back relaxed and rested from this lovely break.

Three generations on holiday.

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay in a lovely cottage. We were grandparents, children and grandchildren. The house was really good for all of us, with enough room for each of us with bathrooms to suit all.

The garden was good for playing games and we could all sit outside in the sun there was plenty of seating.

You are close to something for everyone ve it beach, castle, garden, town or boat.

We would recommend this property to anyone wanting a really quiet holiday with plenty to do in the area even in October.

Mary and family from Scotland and West Yorkshire.

Great holiday find

  • 5 of 5

Just got home in the rain!!

Enjoyed a great holiday made all the more special with this home from home holiday home. 4 generations of family aged 3 to 85 . Even managed to catch up with extended family that live in Northumberland and entertain them for a change. There was everything to cater for a large family dinner, even the English weather did us proud. Spent lovely long days on local beaches, husband and younger son went on a fishing trip, caught 7 cod and 2 mackerel, they were filleted on the boat and baked in the oven within 5 hours . Never knew fish could taste so good. Would definitely book this again if we holidayed in the area again. Thank you Siobhan for allowing us to use your great facilities in such a beautiful area. Also forgot to mention the beautiful gardens that surround the house also the lovely river at the bottom of the garden . Thanks again and well done for the tasteful, relaxing decor of the house

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing setting! With the tranquillity of the surrounding countryside and the babbling brook at the end of the garden, I couldn’t have asked for a more idyllic place to escape to from London. The property itself is very well-equipped and has plenty of space to accommodate a large family. It has a lovely wood-burner providing a warm, homely feel. The house was clean and well-maintained. There is a lot to do in the area. We went on a great boat trip from Seahouses to the Farne Islands (made especially enjoyable by the glorious sunshine!) Nearby are Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh Castles, along with the world-renowned Holy Island of Lindisfarne and lots of lovely beaches along the coast for those magical sunset walks. I would definitely recommend this, and look forward to our return. Thank you to the owners for sharing such a lovely property.
