Sleeps 9 in four bedrooms with 3 bathrooms, one ensuite and one downstairs bathroom and bedroom. Lovely riverside location, and located right on the doorstep of some great walking country in the Derbyshire Peak District including a stone's throw from the Monsal Trail a traffic free cycling and walking route. One of the features of Riverside House holiday cottage is the separate games room above the garage with pool, air hockey, table football, TV with PS2 and x-box plus downstairs in the garage is table tennis when not used for parking. A great way to entertain the family and adults in all weathers.

At Riverside House wi fi is included in the price and so is access to Sky Sports, BT Sports and Sky movies all in HD on the main surround sound TV in the lounge.

Access to the traffic free Monsal Trail, which is literally a stones throw from the cottage, is also another great benefit of staying at Riverside House. If you want to visit Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell or Buxton they are all easily accessible from the cottage. All are within about a 20 minute drive. About the Owner

I run two large holiday homes in the Peak District (and if you don't know, this is an area pretty much right in the middle of England). I've been doing this since 2006 when I opened my first holiday home, Riverside House. For over 30 years my friends and family had been coming to the Peak District for walking holidays, great pubs and just hanging out together. I opened my 2nd holiday home in the Peak District in 2010, Valley View and it is ideal for family holidays, special celebrations, larger groups, business meetings and team building. Both cottages are in spectacular areas of the Peak District and are ideal for walking. My family and I stay in our holiday cottages on a regular basis so we make sure everything is working propertly, is well stocked and in good order for our guests.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This is probably the fifth or sixth time we have booked Riverside House. A group of mature men like to come away in January and enjoy all the facilities of Riverside House and the area. We have never been disappointed and have booked again for 2017.

Fabulous place in a beautiful part of the counrty

  • 5 of 5

If you you want to visit the heart of Peak District you will not find a better place to stay than Riverside House, Litton. It's perfect for walking, cycling, fishing(as we were) or just enjoying the history and scenery around the area. Riverside House is by far the best place we have stayed in over the years and have already rebooked for next year

Go there you won't be dissapointed

Absolutely wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Riverside House for the weekend, 15-18 April 2016. There were 10 people and 5 dogs, and this house is so large and comfortable we could still easily lose eachother! The beautiful lounge provided a perfect place to relax of an evening in front of the wood burning stove. Perfect location for walking, whether you'd like to follow the Monsal Trail or adventure 'off the beaten track'!

To find such perfect accommodation that comfortably houses all of the family, all of our cars (we managed to get 3 on the drive and one in the garage, and still got the table tennis table up!) and allows all 5 of our dogs is quite something- we will definitely be returning!

Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Beautiful house in amazing location!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a fantastic weekend staying at Riverside House. It was the first time many of my friends had visited the Peak district and they absolutely loved it! The house is situated right in front of the river and there are lots of lovely walks as soon as you step out of the door. We especially loved the big lounge area with the log burner - a perfect way to spend a wintery weekend! Thank you Wendy for letting us stay - we will definitely be back!

Fabulous house for a family get-together

  • 5 of 5

Great house for a larger group with 4 bedrooms, three bathrooms, plenty of dining space and a games room! Clean, well equipped, comfortable and everything you need for a fabulous holiday. Set in wonderful countryside with two pubs within walking distance (20 to 30 min walk) and countless country walks on the doorstep. Feeding the ducks and fish at the river is an additional treat for children (and grandparents!).

The property is superb and ideal for large family groups. Both the lounge and kitchen are huge and perfect for everyone to gather during the evening. Games room was great for kids and the location is stunning, with lovely walks right on the doorstep. Outstanding.

Another excellent stay in Riverside House

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at Riverside House three times. Twice with our extended family aged 1 through to 70 and once with other couples. Every holiday was a great success due to the quality & location of Riverside. Situated in a lovely limestone valley which means walks and cycle rides are straight outside, the house is large and superbly fitted out. I am constantly recommending the house to others.

From the Owner

For years my friends and family had been coming to the Peak District for walking holidays, great pubs and just hanging out together. We struggled to find good self catering places in great areas and that were large enough to accommodate us all. So that's why I decided to give it a go myself. I chose the Peak District because it's an area I've known for over 30 years and it has a great central location. It is easily accessible from most parts of the country and is therefore ideal for groups and families to meet up without long car journeys. Once you are in the Peak District you can escape the worries of everyday life and relax. Or you can get active and have fun with the family in the big outdoors. Or explore an historic house or market town. It is also great for our active dog too!
