At Riverside House wi fi is included in the price and so is access to Sky Sports, BT Sports and Sky movies all in HD on the main surround sound TV in the lounge.

About Wendy Boast

I run two large holiday homes in the Peak District (and if you don't know, this is an area pretty much right in the middle of England). I've been doing this since 2006 when I opened my first holiday home, Riverside House. For over 30 years my friends and family had been coming to the Peak District for walking holidays, great pubs and just hanging out together. I opened my 2nd holiday home in the Peak District in 2010, Valley View and it is ideal for family holidays, special celebrations, larger groups, business meetings and team building. Both cottages are in spectacular areas of the Peak District and are ideal for walking. My family and I stay in our holiday cottages on a regular basis so we make sure everything is working propertly, is well stocked and in good order for our guests.

Wendy Boast purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Wendy Boast chose Derbyshire Dales

For years my friends and family had been coming to the Peak District for walking holidays, great pubs and just hanging out together. We struggled to find good self catering places in great areas and that were large enough to accommodate us all. So that's why I decided to give it a go myself. I chose the Peak District because it's an area I've known for over 30 years and it has a great central location. It is easily accessible from most parts of the country and is therefore ideal for groups and families to meet up without long car journeys. Once you are in the Peak District you can escape the worries of everyday life and relax. Or you can get active and have fun with the family in the big outdoors. Or explore an historic house or market town. It is also great for our active dog too!

What makes this cottage unique

Riverside House is in a lovely conservation village in the heart of the Peak District. It has a river location and you may be lucky enough to see trout and the ducks and both enjoy being fed with bread. In the summer it is lovely to sit on the patio with a glass of wine and listen to the babbling river run by. The Monsal Trail is literally at the back of the property up a short steep path, which offers 8 miles of traffic free cycling and walking and don't miss the spectacular views from the Monsal viaduct a Peak District gem. Tideswell with its' independent delis, cafes and shops is a short 5 minute drive and if you are feeling creative there is theTideswell School of Food. There are some great local pubs including the Red Lion in Litton a 40 minute walk through Tideswell Dale.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This is probably the fifth or sixth time we have booked Riverside House. A group of mature men like to come away in January and enjoy all the facilities of Riverside House and the area. We have never been disappointed and have booked again for 2017.

Great base for the Peak District

  • 5 of 5

Riverside House provides outstanding accommodation, located in a gorgeous spot. It is comprehensively equipped, and comfortably and stylishly furnished, way beyond the standards of most holiday houses. We found the property description to be full and accurate, and Wendy Boast was quick to reply to any queries that we had. As has been noted by others, there is a wonderful (energetic if you do the whole circuit) walk straight out of the door, which is such a boon to dogs and their support staff. The house's location is not only idyllic but convenient for exploring the Peak District. We were very happy guests and would urge anyone thinking of staying there not to hesitate. Top class.

Riverside House

  • 5 of 5

An Absolutely beautiful House and setting just as listed. Easy to find, plenty of parking. More than adequate to accommodate 11 family members young and old. The games room and table tennis table were a real bonus and enjoyed by all. A very well equipped kitchen with a lovely family feeling , the lounge was very comfortable and relaxing. sky television is another bonus. The garden is a lovely place to have a family barbecue and the children and dog were secure so could freely run around. The children loved walking to the bridge overlooking the garden to watch the fish and Ducks and we had lovely walks along the river and footpaths so enchanting looking for ratty. The wildlife was amazing we saw a dipper, grey wagtail, mandarin duck, to name a few? We walked the Monsal trail which is a traffic free, cycle, horse riding and walking trail all starting from Riverside house. A fabulous few days which we would definitely repeat and recommend. Thankyou
