Brilliant

This property is in a quiet well maintained and fairly exclusive area of Torquay. The views from both the garden and inside the property are magnificent with uninterrupted views of the sea. The property adjoins the owners house and is perfectly maintained to the highest quality. The set of 5 bifold doors allow access to the garden and are much appreciated come the warmer months when fully opened give approximately a 20 foot opening. I cannot find any fault as the facilities, including a wet room upstairs and and a bathroom downstairs, all top of the range. I will definitely be returning.

Seaspray apartment well worth 4* Gold Award

We had a fantastic 6 night stay at Seaspray. The apartment is well equipped, comfortable and has the most beautiful views from the huge windows. Our hosts Cavan and Sarah were there to greet us and show us around. Nothing was too much trouble and took time to talk about places to visit and make us feel very welcome. The apartment was well placed with coastal path right on its doorstep and views to die for. The facilities were fantastic clean and very well looked after. Fresh flowers from the garden a lovely touch. We will be booking again.

Superb Holiday Let. A Real Home from Home

My wife and I stayed at Sea Spray for 6 nights in August.

We had a warm welcome from Sarah (one of the owners) who showed us where everything was.

There isn't really much to say about the accommodation itself other than it has everything you need for a break away from home (hence my title) and that everything has been done to a very high standard.

Downstairs is open plan and you have bi-fold doors to the front with a view over Thatcher Rock and across Tor Bay to Brixham (I think!). The kitchen has all the utensils you need, and there's a small dining table for times when you can't eat outside.

The lounge area has a sofa and chair, wide-screen TV, Sky, DVD player and a hi-fi. There is also a high-spec downstairs bathroom with wc and bath with shower.

Take the spiral staircase up to the first floor and you find a small landing with a stocked bookcase and fire escape door. You then enter the large bedroom with a very comfy bed, plenty of wardrobe space and, of course, that view. There is also an en-suite bathroom with wc and large walk-in shower. I LOVED the shower. Mine didn't compare when I got home.

The stair case is quite tight so renters should be aware of that.

Outside there is parking, another table and chair set and your own piece of garden with a substantial wooden sitting and dining set. This is where you can use Sea Spray's BBQ.

In terms of location, it's a 5 minute drive into Torquay's marina area where you can eat, drink, catch a boat to Brixham or Dartmouth (a visit to Agatha Christie's holiday home, Greenway, is a must) or a ferry or open top bus ride to the steam trains at nearby Paignton. You can also ride the big wheel that spends its summers in the English Riviera and its winters at London's Winter Wonderland.

In terms of shops we found a very good Co-op about a 5 minute drive away in the opposite direction to the marina. Sarah and Cavan will give you the finer detail.

To sum up, Sea Spray is very tastefully appointed and to a very high-spec. You'll find all that you need in a beautiful corner of our country.

Sarah and Cavan are excellent hosts and I have no hesitation in recommending Sea Spray to anyone, particularly if you love a good view!

A luxury apartment with stunning sea views

'Seaspray' is a truly lovely place to spend a relaxing holiday by the sea. Cavan and Sarah are very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the attention to detail is impressive both in the property (for example: pretty and fresh decor, two bathrooms, steam free mirrors, electric blinds) and also with local information, helping us to plan activities. The view is amazing - to see the sea when you sit up in bed in the morning is wonderful. I would highly recommend this superior and beautiful holiday apartment.

The nearest airport is Exeter, a 20 minute drive away, Bristol airport 87miles.

The nearest ferryport- Plymouth 36miles.

The nearest train station is Torquay train station a 5 minute drive along the seafront. Newto Abbot is 8miles and Totnes 8 miles.

Torquay has a local bus station with regular services throughout the South West and up country.

The M5 motorway is 18 miles distance

Use of a car is not essential but is recommended.

Distances:

Wellswood Village is one mile away. located in the village are a wide range of local shops and services including post office, hairdresser,bakers, restaurants and a family pub. Also in the village you will find the famous "Kents Cavern"

Local towns include Dartmouth 15 miles, Totnes 8 miles, Paignton 6 miles, Brixham 13 miles, Shaldon and Teignmouth 6 miles.

Nearby cities are Exeter and Plymouth. 17 and 34 miles away respectively.

Further Details:

From its unique position, the luxury apartment captures the thrill of coastal living and looks out on a stunning panorama of Lyme Bay and Torbay. There are superb views over Thatcher Rock towards Berry Head and Brixham which can be enjoyed from many aspects of the accomodation which is South facing. The large bifold doors ensure the living accomodation is light and airey and ensures the views of the English Riviera can be enjoyed to the full.

Nearby Wellswood village (1 mile) offers a village style atmosphere with specialist shops including a supermarket, chemist, florist,post office, fashionale restaurants, hair salon and a friendly family orientated pub, The Kents.

The prehistoric caves of Kents Cavern are a 5 minute walk from Sea Spray. The harbourside town centre is a 4 minute drive and boasts a large picturesque marina and an exceptional range of shops, cafes and restaurants. Babbacombe model village and the picturesque village of Cockington are a short drive or bus ride away not forgetting the steam railway which takes passengers from Paignton to Dartmouth- go there by train and return via the beautiful river Dart. There is plenty to do on the water with boat and fishing trips together with a variety of water sports all available within the Bay. The deepwater harbour makes the area a favorite with yachtsmen, putting the Bay at the heart of unrivalled cruising. The Gulf Stream provides a mild climate with above average levels of sunshine and supports an abundance of sub-tropical plant life. There are wonderful opportunities for walking on the South Devon coastal footpath to both the East and West of Sea Spray and further opportunities for walking or horse riding on Dartmoor. Whatever your reasons to choose Torbay as a holiday base, whether it's exploring the area or a base to just chill out and relax, there is something for everyone, either on the doorstep or within easy striking distance of Sea Spray and doubt that you will be disappointed with your choice!
